    Thanks was looking for a Feudal build to try. Love your vids!

    I actually quite like Tome of Revelry as a tier 2 tome for this kind of build, as the morale bonuses just add up like crazy, and the carnival of flesh can help you pump out more armies

      @Ic0nGaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      I was considering Revelry too. But I realized that stacking up morale is without it also very easy and there's only +2 damage for the frontliners in the book. Amplification offers 30% crit hit chance and buffs up my backline nicely. I definitely see Revelation as an option though - feel free to replace if it pleases your playstyle more. The Skalds are really nutty, but I felt like getting more raw damage outta the build with replacing Revelry.

    Super close to several of my ideas!
    I also loved the ideas of mounts and boosted archers when I saw the Glade Runner gets a mount. So many options! Beast, roots and glades with amplification or many materium or order picks to boost both melee and ranged.
    You could just cheese archers, but nicer to get some buffer in front of your archers and let these pull their weight too. Or use them as the main force.
    Feudal just rules, but Dark could also work. with mounted tier 1 pursuers that deal weakened and knights that remove retaliation. You should get a 20% bonus (like Feudal) most of the time, but just like pack hunter melee only. The weakened all over is very nice though.
    Then I heard awakened give +4 spirit damage in addition to the unlocked dormant trait. And High just happens to have a tier 1 shield unit that gets a mount! This Yawn Defender has only 2 def 0 res, but get +1 +2 when awakened. Plus shield, plus shield wall, just like this build. And a solid +4 damage to start, plus enchantments like Zeal.
    A huge benefit is that it's tier 1. After Runesmiths I'd take Prolific Swarmers, +1 rank to tier 1, -20% upkeep all non Magic Origin and less food needed. With an early chaos affinity pick you get another -30% upkeep reduction. Tome of Beacon has Mighty Meek, faithful and a 1-5 damage bonus.

    @Ic0n Gaming In your experience how well does this work with auto-resolve? Thank you for another great build guide!

      It did very well with heroes on the armies. I did skill them on support though, so this might have helped.

    I really enjoy all the AoW4 videos, but I wonder, do you ever make use of the dragon tomes and draconic transformation? Or do you just feel they aren't as good as what existed before? Or do you choose them in late game? just curious. Thanks
    May peace and prosperity be upon you and all those you hold dear

      Thanks for your comment =)
      To be completely honest, I haven't yet made a build that really gets the most out of them. It is definitely a very strong option but you need to tailor your build around it.
      Gonna do a decent build around is as soon as I can =) I don't think anything is bad in there, quite the opposite ^^

    On picking lower tomes instead of tier 3+, I think it may be very good to do early. And often.
    Not just more affinity in half/quarter of the time, you also get options to skip crappy high tier spells. Often you like one spell, and 1-2 are ok. You need 4 spells per tome, so more tier 1 spells means more tomes in far less time. And you can pick the nicest minor race transformations and unit enchantments. Even +1 def (Earthkin) and +1 res (Leafkin) would be nice without the walk and camo. Maybe collect them all?
    Most high tome spells are too expensive (>20 mana) while cheap spells can be very good already. Also staying away from expensive summons saves lot of mana so you can prioritize research more. Cherry picking makes you stronger and faster!
    You do want to get Gaia's Chosen (and Crucible if you want Glade Artillery 😂) and the Goddess tome is just divine.

      I can't agree more to your arguments here. Currently even the research costs for backtracked Tomes are ridiculously low. By the time you have 250-300 research/turn you can basically unlock T1 spells in 1-2 turns and burn through those Tomes in no time.
      I'm afraid I might have only begun with min-maxing here :D

      @@Ic0nGaming
      Yeah, minmaxing is fun!
      I was having ideas it's too easy to minmax, like an almost 100% archer build. (the first I made up being some life steal Zephyr Archer one)
      I was thinking to limit myself, let's do 2 archers per stack max, what would be good then? And it got actually better.
      I thought lets pair that Runesmith with the silly Perfectionist Artisans for a challenge. But with all those tomes and their affinities, it's not that bad. You can get the cheap outposts with extra building to pay for itself or add watchtower and teleporter and earn on them. Mines are nice, something can add 10 mana to them. You grow tall instead of wide, one huge city (later two more) and so many outposts...
      The production penalty just slows down how fast you can spend money, and most often you have too much production too little gold! This is nice for a tier 3 focus army, mounted bastions was my first idea, but any culture could work. Probably add some tier 1 shenanigans just to survive until you get the tier 3's rolling...
      I thought lets limit further, three types of magic, without nature. Maybe I'll look into shadow or astral more, less easy to minmax imo.

    Could you do more cultural units mod stuff?

    • @Ic0nGaming
      @Ic0nGaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I do plan to do some gameplay series on Brutal difficulty very soon and the cultural units expanded mod surely fits nice in there =)

  • @Chonus
    @Chonus ปีที่แล้ว

    Has to be a mistake that wildspeaker animal summon doesn’t get any enchantments when totem of the wild, spider bell, teir 3 spiders all summon units that get enchantments. They could be so good if they fixed that oversight. Either way sounds like they’re gunna nerf teir 1 research spam and buff stacking next patch.

    • @Ic0nGaming
      @Ic0nGaming  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I do hope that it's not only gonna be nerfs but also buffs for things that are just not appealing right now. There's just too many Tomes ingame right now which aren't interesting even if your build tries to use them optimally. For example Necromancy is okay, but never as powerful as other strats somehow.
      But I do see that this T1 research and buff stacking needs attention, cause right now it's very straightforward how to get the most bang for your buck: Just keep picking up all those damage enchants and keep firing.

    • @Chonus
      @Chonus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Ic0nGaming Yeah, doesn't help that undead resistances are so bad compared to normal units with little upside like -4 fire -4 holy sure they're undead, but -4 lightning too? Draconic Vitality is also ridiculous, a level 10 hero gets 30 hp from this tier 1 spell that is nearly the equivalent of stacking super growth and Gaea's chosen. My level 20 hero had over 210 hp.

    There's one problem. Making them all plants and giving dmg is fun and all... or you can make them all angels, so they are immune to berserk. And then have 2 turns instead of 1. Or you can pick WK and cast 2 times and have 3 turns. Or you can pick up refresh abilities in magic line and cast it again and have 4 turns.
    Or you can give them 5 strengthened. Or 4 turns. And it is problem with any build - yeh, you are doing fun stuff, but do you have 4 turns instead of 1?
    And if you are also grabbing t5 chaos book (which is VERY late game) then you can summon a copy of your ruler and have 6 turns.
