- Second in a series of 3 kit builds for you to enjoy while I'm away on vacation. This is an AM/FM Radio kit. Nice looking kit and would have been useful if it had worked, but..

Thanks for persevering. My kit build didn't go too well, either, although i did manage to get some FM channels. I think i paid under 4 bucks for mine, so i can't be too hard on them. I love watching and doing kit builds. Even if the result is less than stellar, it's so much fun. Thanks.
A smartphone can translate that, using the camera. I think it's (for example) the Google Translate app. Just zoom in and start capturing, and the English version will be on the screen.
It'll be a literal translation, so likely with very odd words choices, but understandable.
Good suggestion. I had not thought of that!
" Universal Solder " LOL ! I think Van Damme lives up in the cold near you !! shite radio LOL !.....cheers.
LOL!!!
That kit is pathetic - the FM gives a hissing noise but is not sensitive enough to receive any station unless you’re located within about a hundred feet of the transmitter and the AM radio band has the same station covering the whole dial from 500 to 1650kHz, which is diabolically shocking as far as the selectivity is concerned.
So it's not just mine?
Got the same kit, same problem. Shoved it in a corner for oneday, 😂
@@georgehanekom5412 Thanks for the information.
My absolute favourite tool when building anything or repairing anything is LCR T4. If i'm unsure about a component, which one is it and whether it's still good, a multimeter is cumbersome, i just stick it into the T4. It'll also do all the inductors, capacitors, the vast majority of 2- and 3-legged semiconductor devices, very comprehensive. My most heavily used and cheapest tool that one wouldn't count among standard tools.
Thanks for the info. I didn't have one at that time, but I have 3 of them now. Yes, very handy now that I've got them.
Hahaha hahaha. Mr. Byte, this the very kit I got that I mentioned in another video. It was just not worth the effort.
Seems to be a trend here!
Looks like that was pretty lacking as far as kits go.
I haven't built a kit in at least 25 years. But I have a few over there waiting!
You will get it sorted out. If not... a big hammer fixes everything HAHAHA.
Hammers have a nice gratifying effect.
OMG, I think that have one of that exact kit in my Yet-To-Build collection.
Yep...
Be sure to let us know how it goes.
This is so wild. Transistors and components are so cheap you'd think they would go all out on a great AM radio design. Maybe all the radio repair TH-camrs should get together and make a kit to put these all to shame.
Yup, working radio's are not that hard anymore.
Yep, although the red (AM only) seven transistor one is pretty good, to be fair. And it's under 10 bucks.
