  • Today we start a journey that many have questions about; Lasers TO GO! “What laser should you pick and why for events?” has been brought up multiple times on the podcast. So we’ll be unboxing and looking at the ComMarker B4 20 watt fiber laser and why it’s our choice to take to local markets this fall in the first video of our LASERS TO GO series.

I was hoping you'd mention info on safety & exhaust? Is there another video covering this for trade shows/market?

How about xtool f1 and other options instead of commaker?

i do alot of fibre engraving in my workplace, we also have co2 - the machine i run is a Lotus Laser 50 watt Meta C fibre , its great to use but the cost is high, im looking for a low cost machine to do something at home here in the UK

This would also be good as a second machine for public markets to demo and draw crowds in. Maybe create an engraving file that is slowed down between items, so the machine is firing for longer periods of time before you swap out materials.

I bought the B4 20w for 2k on Amazon in November (?) 2023. Need it to mark about 3 k pcs a year. So far so good. EZ Cad2 works well enough. Hooked it up to an old Win 8.1 computer. I’m happy with it.

Any concern with particles falling through the work table into the electronics? (assuming the threaded holes go all the way through the table.) Would it hurt to put another threaded table on top and something between to protect the electronics?

It's not great, and we'd have to ask Kyle to confirm but I'm recalling this was fixed in the production model. This unit was preproduction. If it wasn't however no harm in putting a nicer breadboard over the existing there are lots of great options. Just have to deal with the added weight.

I'm a month in and it has lost all power. 50watt B4 raycus. Horrible timed for the holidays.
