    Hiya! Well done Chris. Loved the detail. Dan too and ginger bearded one (Sorry! Not got the name yet). Love the fact that so many body panels are still available for these older cars. Have one of these older re-worked ones over the newer ones any day. And nothing like these American ones. Remember particularly the 56-8 Fairlane a long departed friend had and re-did in Zimbabwe (Used to be Southern Rhodesia.) Keep up the good work. Waiting for part 3 of the ‘56. Thank you all.

    I can see why you guys saved the VIN plate; it's gonna be the only original part left, but sometimes that's what you have to do, a friend of mine had to do that when I helped him rebuild his 1978 Ford truck; I think by the time we were finished the only original part was the top of the cab!

    Nice work guys. I think Kindig-It is one of the better shops in the country, but those door handles don't do much for me.

    You guys really listen to the customers on what they want in spite of what looks good or does it

      It’s a conversation. At the end of the day, they are paying to have the car built, so we want the end product to be what they want, but hopefully they accept some input about where we see the build going and maybe also get a few things they didn’t know they wanted. Honestly we’ve been lucky and haven’t had much controversy on style decisions with customers. Lucky with customers in general, really. A bunch of humble, appreciative, generous people.

      Since this video is only a year or so old, I am curious parts and labor what does it cost for a car like this to pretty much replace allmost all the panels? I absolutely think the owner made right choice bringing this to you, I am thinking about doing a project like this one. Well beyond my capability to take this on.
      Keep the videos coming. How about a shot of finished painted car at the end.@ClassicCarStudio

      Yeah, often if we're doing something without sentimental attachment we'll recommend to the client that we procure a new donor vehicles. That way you save the money you would spend on rust repair for the cool parts of the build...

    Awesome work! How do you guys decide whether to use kitty hair, or regular filler?

    • @ClassicCarStudio
      @ClassicCarStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usually we'll do kitty hair on seams and over welds. It's supposed to absorb / transfer less moisture from the back and is less prone to shrink. For those unfamiliar with the lingo, "kitty hair" refers to a fiberglass filler.

    Where did you buy the replacement parts?

    • @ClassicCarStudio
      @ClassicCarStudio  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I believe the client actually provided a lot of the sheet metal when he brought in the car. We got a number of panels that weren’t provided from one of our local vendors Gateway Muscle Car.

    • @62willy1

      @@ClassicCarStudiois gateway a dealer or actual manufacturer? Just curious as well what aftermarket metal you guys tend to use for replacement parts? Theres a lot of thin Chinese crap out there unfortunately.. thx
