    • @CED.Dweller
      @CED.Dweller 3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      It is a pain to remove. Isopropyl alcohol makes it brittle and hard to gather to remove. The key is to remove the adhesive quickly after opening the device. Either remove the screen as quickly as you can without damaging cables, or prop the screen against a stable box or tool bag and remove the adhesive right after opening.

      Why is it that all ifixit repair videos make the claim of true tone not being able to work after the screen replacement?
      I had my screen replaced today from an LCD to an original OEMOLED screen and we were simply able to copy over the serial number and all the other features of the old display over to the new display and now my new OLED display has true tone enabled!
      So why does IFIXIT keep making this claim when everyone knows you can use a simple programmer to resolve this issue! Is it simply because ifixit does not make the programmer available or refuses to showcase the programmer in action? What is the reason that ifixit makes this claim continually despite the actual truth?

    At the last stage of putting the screen back on, you mentioned it should clip into place, my daughters screen has stopped working but doesn't look like it had its adhesive replaced so it kinds just falls out, it doesn't clip, so is just the adhesive that holds it together, cause I don't see any clips. After display Replacement, you will get error of non original screen, that message can be removed with microsoldering work, moving a unique eeprom from the old screen to the new screen.

      @@daddy1kev With qianli you can copy and restore Truetone data, but it will keep showing the non-original screen error.

      Ikr! Someone could totally hurt themselves if they don’t learn how to do it! Since it’s an apple product, there must only be one place you can learn how to disassemble an iPhone from and it must be a super hard class to get into. Only the most elite and erudite students getting even a chance too see the inside of an iPhone, with all the plebs who aren’t apple approved being unable to ever ever ever possess the intellect to LOOK UP A TUTORIAL ON THE INTERNET!!!!

    So I can buy an aftermarket display, an do all the work myself and lose true tone from you all for 499.00.. or I can send it to apple, have it replaced by them, with a oem screen, for 279.00.. hmm yeah.. pass.

      where are you buying a aftermarket screen for 500 dollars? did you look by most expensive when looking? theyre like 80 bucks....

    Quite dusty and smeared with fingerprints...the inside of that iPhone...either a bad assembly in China or a bad repair from the guy...Hugh Jeffreys could do better!

    The screen part costs $500 (before tax and shipping). It’s cheaper to go to Apple and have it replaced even out of warranty. Like what’s the point of replacing it yourself?
