BTW, my birthday this weekend and I’m hoping that the proof of my wife’s love will materialise in the form of a copy of Chasing Awe!
This was great to watch. I made this trip from Seattle back in 2014 where I started in Glasgow and drove to Edinburgh, up the east coast, across the north and then back down the west coast where my last couple of days were spent in Oban before returning to Glasgow. It was me, my camera, my clubs (so I could play a round at St, Andrews new course) and a car. Upon visiting Mull and Iona which was amazing in itself, I also visited Staffa. All I can say is that it was an almost spiritual experience being there on top of that island surrounded by gorgeous views and a feeling of being the only person on the planet. I managed to shoot the cave as well and can relate to the awe of it (and the pucker factor) as I stood on the edge of the section you noted is now gone. It was an experience I hope to have again when I visit next time. Thank you for this video and for taking me back to one of the most amazing places I have ever been. If there is a way for me to share a few of my shots with you (not for critique or anything,) I would love to.
I like when it comes to risking your life for a shot. That's why I'm in photography, it takes me where I'd never go. The best shots are always not easy ones)
Another great location and image coming from it. I really liked the information on working the PS images and how you created this out of 4 separate shots. I have always wondered about this type of technique and plan on incorporating this into my workflows.
