RICHIE SAMBORA IS A SUPER GUITARIST, ONE OF THE BEST IN HISTORY, TALENTED, MELODIC, HE HANDLES CHORDS VERY WELL AND A VERY GOOD VOICE. GREAT RICHIE, GREETINGS FROM CHILE.
Sambora was, is & will always be the main man, yeah he has his ups & downs, with drugs & alcohol, but when he picks up the guitar you’d better believe he’s rocking the show 🎸💪🏻👌
I put Richie up there with Bruce Kulick, in terms of ability, roots and adaptability in the 1980s. Both were rooted very heavily in a classic hard rock guitar style, but broadened their horizons enough to be the perfect blend of soulful with a border on shreddy. Their writing fit the times well too.
Agreed. This is a band that in '85 were young, hungry, talented and ready to rock. They would release their best album one year after this gig. They were on the upswing at this point. Phenomenal performance by all.
Kirk Hammett really give me goosebumps with his solo, he's definitely a guitar God, Ritchie Sambora and all guitarists should worship and bow to him!!!
@@Thiaghen1 a receita tb é classica ne...Marshal e sempre um seymor ducan JB na ponte....mais a timbragem do cara é de tirsr o chapéu...toda essa leva do Hard Rock era bem nessa praia mesmo
You look at some of the plebs in the top 100 guitarists of all time and realise it's not cool to appreciate Bon Jovi in any way, the voters are gutless sheep. He may not have invented anything new but I could recognise Richies solos within 10 seconds, his style was unique and was key in making Bon Jovi different in a way that had me obsessed with them for years.
@@rossaann , I hate to break it to you but, it was sabora who asked to join that nassal mediocre. That nassal mediocre already got a record deal before sambora entered the scene. Let that sink in through you clueless skull.
Je le connais pas avant je suis pas de cette époque mais j’aime pas le rock de nos jour. Le rock de cette époque étais vraiment parfait. J’adore Richie
I’m a guitar player and Richie was def an idol of mine in fact he’s probably one of my favorites but to say he shreds no no that’s not his style at all actually what make him so good is the simplicity in his style once your aged guitar player you’ll no what i mean
It's a shame that the record companies began what would be the eventual destruction of Jon's voice with the Slippery and New Jersey tours. Too much pushing, not enough rest, and use of corticosteroid injections to mask the damage, all led to the mess that his voice has become today. They were certainly great within their day, though!
@@freepressright I remember the good times. As a 15 year old I had a school friend who, by chance, acquired a tape of 7800⁰F in early '86 when they were not that well known here in the UK. He later saw them at a relatively small gig in the autumn of that year, but by that point they were on the brink of becoming massive. I have a theory - and let me know if it holds water - that all great bands/artists have a 'golden age'. Clearly, as a live act Bon Jovi were superb by this point, and as an album 'Slippery When Wet' was the creative apex in the following year.
he is not guitar solois like vai and satriani. but as guitarist hard rock he the one of best. 80 style guitar like wammy bar, tapping, blues scale, sherd he can do it. not like slash who cant do teknik anything ex bending
Rafa M You do know Eddie didn't invent tapping, right?? It's a technique that had been around for awhile. Eddie just took it to a whole new level. I don't think Richie was mimicking him at all.
He’s the sound of old 80’s and 90’s Bon Jovi hard rock style, with out his influence they sound more like a Pop Country band, they should have changed their name at least
And yet he managed to entetain thousands quite effectively and to have his name attached to dozens of Top 10 hits. Yeah, if one's taste, judgment and maturity are so limited that only people like Paul Gilbert qualify as "good," then you'd probably not dig Richie. But there's nothing wrong with the guy's playing when it comes down to it. The solos on the first three albums had their magical moments. By Slippery you could even say he had some that were very well composed. Since it isn't a contest, you know...
The most under rated guitar player of all time!!!! and yet plays and sings like the best in the world!!!! he's such an inspiration! Go on richie!

Like him or not, his tone is almost perfection. It's everything classic hard rock guitar tone should be.
I think he's liked and loved by all who love good music and artistry.
Absolutely, that tone is next to no one. That's saying something considering that era. Rock n Rollers!
I hear RR a lot it sounds killer
The more I watch this, the more I realise how much eddie van halen inspired and changed guitar playing forever.
OMG this is the best solo EVER! VIVA RICHIE!
I love those harmonic clusters he does, nobody does it like Richie!
he's my idol!! i love richie sambora because he doesn't just shred, he shreds with his own style!
Ричи внатуре был рождён с 🎸 в руках!!!)))

From 1:49 to 2:20 sounds like EVH. RIP EVH
Sign of the Times. Everyone was borrowing from EVH back then.
I saw this tour. In the Mayfair in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Gotta love 80's rock solos :) :)

that was a requirement of every 2nd wave of glam metal guitarists
Best solo ever

There is no singer left to return to. Jon's voice is GONE.
Sambora melhor guitarrista de todos os tempos
this reminded me on eddie van halen, guess it was his time and a bunch were inspired by him
It's like an overpass from Van Halen blvd to George Lynch way.
POLSKA KREW !! Richie you are the best !
Wow. This is really good.
nice solo

Sounds like Fade To Black intro, by Metallica
si parece van halen xD
De hecho creo que quiso sonar como van halen
me lo enseñaron del 2:03 en adelante y creia k era Eddy Van halen
Is this on spotify I can't find it
Watching this fantastic performance it's clear that in 1985 there was only one place Bon Jovi were heading for: the top.
It's a shame that the record companies began what would be the eventual destruction of Jon's voice with the Slippery and New Jersey tours. Too much pushing, not enough rest, and use of corticosteroid injections to mask the damage, all led to the mess that his voice has become today.

RICHIE SAMBORA
Who wants to play for a band named after the singer? Honest question.
Lol
Kahler tremolo!
standard
wow he plays guitar better than Eric Clapton.
Gold Coins fuck off
I love richie but not possible
Very different styles. Richie is of a later generation has more shred influence.
His playing reminds me awfully a lot about Eddie Van Halen's

Richie or Rambo ?

Dimarzio Super Distortions
Damn I got Satriani vibes
Kramer?
I think it's a Gibson Les Paul
looks like a gibson LP Custom with an after market floyd to me
No. It's a Rod Schoepfer Custom Les Paul.

No, it's a Rod Schoepfer Custom Les Paul.

is_kadu sounds like its loosely based on Detroit Rock City solo by KISS
