I just heard this song for the first time a few weeks ago and that solo blew me away. I’ve always loved Bon Jovi cause my parents raised me on good music, but I just started a deep dive into his discography
i call myself a guitarist, and i like to think i know of anything that's worth listening too- i have never heard this amazing song/solo before and always been a bit indifferent to bon jovi - guess i missed this one.
he does, I thought so. it just seems like no matter how great someone is at their craft people try to act like it is no big deal. I hate that. like you gotta walk on water, run through fire, and do the impossible for someone to say that was gloriously awesome
Richie is a legend, but I think this song goes mainly to the keyboardist, David Bryan. The keyboard makes this song what it is more than any of the other instruments.
I was at Wembley that night. This performance was the absolute standout of the day. Loved the song before, but live it was just on another level. Richie's guitar work and solo were simply magnificent. He never got the recognition he deserves IMO.

Not just Richie's solo is amazing, or David's keyboard playing, the entire song is a masterpiece. From the pace of it, how it starts slow, then builds up, tempo goes up and then it goes down again, the lyrics are amazing, telling a very interesting story about hope when there's none and how we were born to die. That's why Bon Jovi is one of my favourite artists. Genius
An absolutly genuis song, and the saddest which I´ve ever heard. I couldn´t get it from my head for a long time. I´m crying inside when I´m listening it.

My favorite Bon Jovi song. Richie doesn't get nearly enough credit for one of the greatest solos ever. Nor does Tico get recognition as one of the greatest drummers, he was on fire during that entire solo! I love these guys!!!!
@D T well just because you did not doesn't mean i can't. And Emotions are actually part of you're nerve system caused by something known as an amygdala :)
everyone in this comment section is always talk about how best and awesome Richie is, but no one mention David Bryan as such an amazing keybordist/pianist in this song..
I dont think so if you said Phil X is way better than Richie. Richie was more dedicated and played more important role to build up this band into what they are today. He's the architect and the soul of this band. Richie was irreplaceable and Phil X's role in this band is just to fill the emptiness of Richie's position, nothing more. For me, no one compares to him, as simple as that.
Tico is the hitman, full of energy and carrying every song... sadly easily overlooked behind the drums and fiberglass but he's the dark horse of their music, pure energy and passion.
RICHIE SAMBORA IS A SUPER GUITARIST, ONE OF THE BEST IN HISTORY, TALENTED, MELODIC, HE HANDLES CHORDS VERY WELL AND A VERY GOOD VOICE. GREAT RICHIE, GREETINGS FROM CHILE.
David Bryan gets nothing like the praise he deserves for his part in this song. It's very much a piano-driven song but no one ever recognises it. Don't believe me? Listen to the song again and try to focus only on the piano parts - none of that is a backing track; that's David playing piano live in front of 50,000 people. His playing is beautiful.
Epic Richie. I remember when Jon could still sing like this. Tico as bad-ass as ever. Dave in his element. A band in their absolute prime. Memories aplenty.
God the WHOLE band shines here. Soaring vocals from Jon, pounding drums from Tico, some amazing melodic bass from Hugh underneath arguably the best work from Richie and Dave!

But I'm sure glad I found this. Not only is it incredible memories, it's one of the finest, blistering guitar solos I've ever seen/heard! I hope BonJovi and Richie reunite one day.
When Keep the faith was released in the early 90s Bed of roses, in these arms and keep the faith got so much attention, this song was left out. Even it's music video appeared in MTV much later, and that had Richie's solo guitar curtailed to a short clip. But a couple of us rated this song above the others of the album. Richie, Bryan, Tico all excelled in this Bon jovi hit.
He's very competent in playing for the song and his peers recognise him for this quality but he's a million iles from being one of the best. He'd make a good session musician but one of the best - not a chance.
Kathryn Love sambora on guitar no chance to be one of the best....but their vocalist "jon bon jovi" is one of the most charismatic vocalist ever...seeing jon's smiles is like a finding water in SAHARA...

every single day,
every single night.
And when you lay down to die, you better know one thing:
If you believe in yourself there ain't nothin and nobody gonna tell you that it ain't gonna happen for you.
And I'll tell you one thing right here, right now: I'VE LAID DOWN LONG AND HARD ENOUGH, BABY"
...cue spine tingling, other worldly, life-changing solo
Richie, Tico, espectaculares!!!
One of Bon Jovi's best performance, they were all just perfect, a masterpiece song, Jon's voice was amazing and Richie's solo is just incredible, perfect as a touch of heaven. Ladies and gentlemen, this is how to play a guitar, it goes right to our heart and soul. My favourite Bon Jovi's performance and my favourite solo. The best rock band of all times ❤👏🥇🎸🎶
Hey🌹, all love and how are you doing today?
@davidbryan1532 how are you Mr Lemma
What an amazing Richie Sambora plays with surreal energy. 🎸🎸🎸
That was a great solo by a brilliant guitarist, always been a Sambora fan.
That solo is perhaps the most free Richie has ever been, i keep coming back to watch it. The man is on point
Love Jon’s vocals here! What a good voice he had before, I really miss it. But I will always support Bon Jovi even though their good days have passed
Richie Sambora is a beast at the guitar. My hero!
Richie Sambora. What a fantastic guitarist. In the same esteemed leauge as Gary Moore. Both different styles, but both phenomenal
Richie is so wonderful! I can almost hear what his guitar is saying! Amazing guitar player!!! The best!!!🖤
His guitar tells the story without the lyrics. It’s emotionally that good. Wow!
One of the best solo guitar i've heard!
