Is there anybody else that hears a few notes from the song "Thank you" with Dido in that solo? And NO, I'm NOT saying Lovebites copies or anything. It's just sometimes things remind of other things. :)
I know Miss Armstrong's "Thank You" fairly well, Eminem's "Stan" as well, could be a distant cousin of this melody ("Epilogue"). I think I know what you mean, although I didn't get that feeling before. I really appreciate both songs and both meledies, so maybe that's one of the reasons.
Great double reaction ! Miyako's beautiful and haunting piano intro for "Empty Daydream" was from Rachmaninoff's "Moment Musicaux Op. 16 No. 4 in E Minor". In terms of the lyrics, you're pretty much spot on and that's how I interpreted it too - this song tells the story of how someone is trapped in a very bad/psychologically abusive relationship, that person's resulting trials & tribulations, and how she or he eventually resolved the situation. The guitar battle in the middle symbolizes the quarrels/fights that ensued, and the harmonization part can be perceived as how they settled the conflict in the end. As for "Epilogue", this was Miyako's progression of instruments : acoustic guitar --> piano --> lead guitar --> piano --> lead guitar . I'm always in absolute awe as to how she can do all that in one song.
Thank you for your feedback, and the information about the intro. I guess it's time to go full classical and check that out. And I'm happy I hit on the correct thing with both the lyrics and the guitar battle. I'm not 100% dumb. 😁 And yeah, Miyako really is the real deal when it comes to a musician. Plays several instruments on a high level and also writes gorgeous music.

I couldn't agree more! "Epilogue" is absolutely a masterpiece, and that guitar solo from Miyako hits me deep. The way she poured emotion into every note took the song to another level. LOVE how she can express so much feeling through her playing. 🤘🐺🔥❤️
You can just hear that Gary Moore sound in Miyakos guitar in Epilogue. Just amazing. Its like the legendary Gary still lives through her sound and emotion-gotta love it. Miya is so special. Love them all but the mastermind behind most of their songs is Miyako...
True, Miho was there at the start and is therefore an important part of the band. But life happens and sometimes it's best for all to go on. As I understand it, there was no animosity or anything like that behind this. So it was probably a decision Miho made, that the other members accepted and found a way to go on.

Something I noticed that is not mentioned about Empty Daydream is how good Miyako’s backing vocals are, the first 2 lines of the chorus are Miyako and Miho but then Miyako does the third line alone and she has a great voice, just another string to her bow. I think it is a pity they don’t do more of this style of music, the faster heavier stuff is great but the slower tempo stuff is brilliant in my opinion, awakening from the abyss is my favourite album, great variety of rock music, but then again I am 64 and I do like Sabbath, Floyd, Zeppelin, Thin Lizzy, classic 70s rock is still the best. 😂😂😂😂
You are right! I did mention the background vocals, but as you say, it seems like they are all singing the first two backing lines, but then Miyako does the third alone. Interesting. I'm a 70s kid myself, but those artists weren't really on my parents' radar at the time. Of course, I did catch some of it growing up, but I'm also kind of happy that I now will be able to do a deeper dive into the old, classic bands, in addition to the just GREAT Japanese upcoming bands.
Enjoy your ride 👍, the dive into the musical journey or rock music goes all the way to the blues, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Elmore James Robert Johnstone, then in the late sixties, early seventies they started to blend in some classical music, jazz, folk and medieval, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath are the big 3 but there were many more where you can see the roots of the heavy / hard rock influences coming through, then you have bands who had twin lead guitars who added a bit more. Even the concept of twin guitars goes back to the fifties with Les Paul and Mary ford, and the Gibson Les Paul is the iconic rock guitar, Ray Davies of the Kinks slashing speaker cones to get a dirtier more distorted sound and Jim Marshall the man who created THE amp, which is another iconic rock sound. Be it an all female band or a band out of Japan the music is not really new, it has all been done before, it is more a a newer take on older stuff, they are not reinventing the wheel, all girl bands like The Runaways and Girlschool from the seventies and eighties still rock, even bands like Band Maid and the Warning are throw back to grunge to a degree. Like most things time will tell, it will be interesting if in 50 years time people are still listening to Led Zeppelin or Lovebites, 😂😂😂 and do love listening to Lovebites. 👍👍👍👍

If you want to experience Miyako on a grand piano check out her cover of the Helloween song "Eagle Fly Free" th-cam.com/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/w-d-xo.html It is one of 6 metal songs she reworked into classical pieces and put out as an LP (she is doing piano recitals in Japan). She truly believes Classical and Metal are related and blends all her influences, often in the same song, into her compositions. Empty Daydream, is one of their very best, piano, Asami's bluesy vocals, backing and gand vocals all coming together as only Lovebites can do especially LIVE.
Yeah, the sum of the parts in Empty Daydream, the musicianship, the vocal harmonies, everything. Just a masterpiece. And I actually listened to Miyakos "Eagle Fly Free" on Spotify earlier today. Very nice! I could only find that one song, though, and not the whole album. It might be because I did it on my TV. Guess I'll try on my PC and see if I can find it all there.
😁 I sort of understood, but I found it strange they only had three songs starting with E, and all of them ballads. But I checked now, and it seems these ARE really the three only songs with a title starting with E. I wonder if they will keep up that pattern themselves in the future. All ballads have to be great with a title starting with E. 🤣😁🤘🐺🔥❤️

Memories I can’t erase still haunting me
Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes
Falling down
Breaking heart
A growing addiction
Just let me go away
Just let me go my way
Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control
I’m losing sight of me
I’m losing sight of you
I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will go on
Nothing new, pretending not to know the truth
Rendezvous, without emotion or heart
I won’t show how weak and sad I am inside
Even though I know it’s just silly pride
Empty room
Endless rain
The end of a daydream
You never call my name
You never feel the same
You never make me feel like I deserve any love
I’m waiting for the dawn
I’m waiting for the time
I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal,
so I can go on

Lovebites has a lot of different songs, but check out "A Frozen Serenade," another great rock ballad. th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html
It's more than just music, it's a work of art.
Absolutely! I didn't tear up in this video, but the emotion hit hard, and I had a hard time speaking there for a while.
Thanks for recommending "A Frozen Serenade"! I’ll definitely give this one another listen. 🤘🐺🔥❤️
The riff of Empty Daydream is the same of Back on the Road Again of REO SpeedWagon, wich is very popular in Japan.
Ohhh, thanks for that cool info. And now I have to go check out the music of REO SpeedWagon, since I didn't do that back in the days. 🤣🤘🐺❤️
LOVEBITES - Epilogue lyrics & credits:
If you have never cried, your eyes can’t be so beautiful
If you have never been hurt, you can’t feel the pain of others
I will believe myself
We’ll never be alone
You will believe yourself
We are the only ones
If you have never failed, you cannot be happy for success
If you have never loved, you cannot feel the love from others
I will believe myself
We’ll never be alone
You will believe yourself
We are the only ones, forever…
SOLO: both / miyako
Just the way you are
Just the way you are
Be the one you wanna be, with your own melody
Just the way you are
Just the way you are
Love the song you sing
Sing the song you love
SOLO: both / midori

lyrics: asami
music: asami & Mao
arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)

Thank you for the lyrics!
Yep, Epilogue usually never fails to evoke emotions and get under your skin. :) And if it doesn't, that person should make an appointment with a doctor as soon as possible to have his pulse checked.... The “E-Trilogy” is, in my opinion, timelessly beautiful and, as I said already with EotW, ranks among the best songs in this genre ever. ❤🔥🤘🏻

I can't find anything wrong in what you say here. 😜 Great songs, and if you don't get emotional during these songs, you either have to quit some medication, or start some. 🤣😂🤘🐺❤️
While “Empty Daydream” was composed by Miyako, for “Epilogue” it was composed by vocalist Asami with the help of MAO, who has provided songs and various support since the formation of LOVEBITES.
The almost artistic “A Frozen Serenade” was composed by Asami in a similar manner.

Thank you for the information and the link. I will be sure to put it on my list.
Great comments friend. Yes, they really show their greatness, after greatness..and so on. Each song has their unique spot/feel written. Unpredictable guitar solos and vocal harmonized in Empty Daydream. The most crazy 'guitar cry' frenzy in Epilogue.. so satisfying. My mind temporarily flew away to a sentimental state. Lovebites really can do anything. This another great show -Today Is The Day, with lyrics- th-cam.com/video/ruAm4zTCTn8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=QHWgX-rqYkwRZyl7. Thanks a lot, bro 👍🤘
Thank you for your nice feedback! It's always nice to get that confirmation. And I agree with you on the variety that LOVEBITES show, but always greatness. Distinct songs within the same genre, but always beautiful creations.
I'll be sure to put Today Is The Day on the list! Thank you for the link!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
🤘🐺❤️🐺🤘🔥
Midori💚💚💚💚💚 Miho💜💜💜💜💜
Two of the great musicians in a band with only great musicians. 🤘🐺❤️
MIYAKO’s Epilog solo reminds me of Still Loving You, by the Scorpions.
I need to take an evening and sit down with Scorpion, Gary Moore and everyone else you guys mention. I'm so happy that there are so much music out there to experience and enjoy!
How about Today Is The Day as one to check out next. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Thank you!! I'll put it on the list.
And I really need to find another way to note all this down. So far it's only a text file on my PC. I need to organize.
If you want to experience Miyako on a grand piano check out her cover of the Helloween song "Eagle Fly Free" th-cam.com/video/-h3BLRs0Xr4/w-d-xo.html
It is one of 6 metal songs she reworked into classical pieces and put out as an LP (she is doing piano recitals in Japan).
Guess I'll try on my PC and see if I can find it all there.
start of the Epilogue solo is the best Scorpions solo that is not written by Rudolf
I don't really know Scorpion that well, but I shall take your word for it. But I think we agree on that it's a great solo.
Referred to as the 'E' songs because the the song title starts with the letter 'E'. ☺
@@FranksReactions Furthermore their releases (studio and live) are named in order alphabetically. E.g. first album = Awakening from Abyss, 2nd = Battle Against Damnation, 3rd = Clockwork Immortality... etc. The latest was Memorial for the Warrior Souls so we're expecting their next release to start with the letter 'N'. ☺
That's quite a jump from C to M. Loads of name opportunities lost there...
@@FranksReactions No the etc... meant that they've covered all the letters up to M. D was Daughters of the Dawn, E was Electric Pentagram, F was Five of a Kind... and so on. 😊
Ahhh, I read that maybe a little too fast. So they've released 13 albums, studio and live?!? That's a GOOD discography.
I have SO much to catch up to! And I'll love every minute of it.
Epiloque solo by Miyako sounds like profession of violence song by UFO band
Ohhh, thanks for the tip about another song I need to check out. I absolutely LOVE getting recommendations and suggestions!
