The dark-haired guitarist / piano player is Miyako, and she has been playing piano since the age of 3. She picked up the guitar and taught herself to play at the age of 18. She's 33 now. When she composes a demo, she can play all the parts, bass, drums, guitar & piano. The lead singer is Asami, and she writes the lyrics. 😏♥️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
The band members of LOVEBITES are (including their official nicknames) Asami on vocals (the one and only voice): Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch): She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars Midori on guitars (crazy shredder): Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete Haruna on drums (little big engine): Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers): Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger): she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3, also the band was Miho‘s idea, she and Haruna were the founding members!
My favorite band in the world, and no one comes close. They're all stars in their own right, but somehow, they all ended up in a band together, and they kill it, every song. Their skills and talent are through the roof. They're a metal band, but they do a few ballads, songs that edge on the more rock side like this, in addition to power, thrash and speed. Their lyrics are positive, but they crush it musically. I've seen others say it, so it's not just me, but Midori and Miyako, the two guitarists, are the greatest duo to ever play together. Sounds crazy to say it, but you may agree if you check out more of them. Asami used to be a ballerina and an R&B singer, and you can hear that here. You'll see some of her ballet chops in other performances, in addition to how she carries herself and interacts with the crowd. Miyako is a classical pianist that decided one day to go teach herself guitar. They're unreal. I highly recommend checking out more. Anything from them is just amazing.
The way I look at it right now Japan’s music scene is like a huge crater filled with endless rabbit holes. And not just in Rock and Metal but Progressive Rock, Jazz, Progressive Jazz, Blues, mixed instrumental and genre bands, and so on and so on! The sheer amount of talent there boggles the mind and I’m so glad I have lived long enough to enjoy the fruits of the internet. And I’m also thankful for people like yourself for reacting in a knowledgeable and sincere way!
We all have our opinions, mine: they are the one and only legitimate Queens of metal. This being one of their slower, softer tracks, still a masterpiece. But you haven't seen anything yet. They are going to blow your mind with what they can do...just wait. This is going to be such an exciting journey with you...yay! 🤘🙂
LOVEBITES - Empty Daydream lyrics: Memories I can’t erase still haunting me Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes Falling down Breaking heart A growing addiction Just let me go away Just let me go my way Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control I’m losing sight of me I’m losing sight of you I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will go on Nothing new, pretending not to know the truth Rendezvous, without emotion or heart I won’t show how weak and sad I am inside Even though I know it’s just silly pride Empty room Endless rain The end of a daydream You never call my name You never feel the same You never make me feel like I deserve any love I’m waiting for the dawn I’m waiting for the time I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal, so I can go on SOLO: miyako / midori / miyako / both Memories I can’t erase still haunting me Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes Falling down Breaking heart A growing addiction Empty room Endless rain The end of a daydream Just let me go away Just let me go my way Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control I’m losing sight of me I’m losing sight of you I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will… You never call my name You never feel the same You never make me feel like I deserve any love I’m waiting for the dawn I’m waiting for the time I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal, so I can go on ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Clockwork Immortality 12/05/2018
Welcome to the realm of the Wolfpack (Lovebites fans from around the world) ! Miyako's (lead guitarist/pianist stage left) piano intro is Rachmaninoff's "Moment Musicaux Op. 16 No. 4 in E Minor". This lady is a generational genius who is a virtuoso on BOTH the piano and guitar, and she's classically-trained on the piano since the age of 3. The main riff you heard on this song is from Michael Jackson's "Beat It". Jennifer Batten is MJ's session guitarist who performed with MJ on all 3 of his world tours in the '90s. Batten is one of Miyako's guitar influences and she composed & arranged this track that included that main riff as an homage to her. As a band, Lovebites plays a seamless and innovative blend of speed-power/thrash/prog/neoclassical metal/heavy rock/power ballads which makes their sound unique and contemporary. For a neoclassical metal masterpiece with more piano, I recommend "Swan Song with Chopin intro" LIVE : th-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/w-d-xo.html (use this link and LIVE version that has the piano intro). Enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole that's Lovebites !
Wouldn't in be more accurate to say the main riff is 'inspired' by "Beat It" rather than 'from' "Beat It", which implies plagiarism. To my ear at least, the riffs are quite different.
@@1970Phoenix Good point. Having said that, a lot of music nowadays are based partially on sampling. Miyako paid tribute to Batten and MJ so I guess that doesn't count as plagiarism.
Just a warning: Almost every other song by LOVEBITES is harder! "Empty Daydream", "Epilogue" and "Edge of the World" are the "E" songs, a cycle of calmer songs. But LOVEBITES are destined to "play hard" Heavy Metal, multiple styles...
@@ginxreacts Try reacting to their song entitled "Swan Song+Chopin Intro Live". I think this song is quite calm, especially in the lyrics and vocals, but at the same time it is also powerful. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html
@@ginxreacts Edge of the World is as close as they have gotten to a prog metal song (I am primarily a prog rock/metal guy). I consider it to be a masterpiece, although not composed by the guitarist Miyako.
thank you for your great reaction and welcome to the wonderful world of lovebites! their rabbit hole is deep and very rewardng! next one: their latest release "we the united" live 2023 from their official channel. I´ve listened to a lot of very good music in my life, but I´ve almost never seen so much talent, joy power and energy on a rock/metal stage.
welcome to LOVEBITES, they play heavy metal and they play it damn good, these Ladies are super talented, pick a song, any song, doesn't matter as there are no bad songs, great music, great lyrics, great videos, live is even better, one of my favorites is Shadow Maker,,,,,,,th-cam.com/video/wmAKRiG89Qc/w-d-xo.html.....enjoy
Thank you Sean for suggesting this and thank you Ginx for getting to it. Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD: ”Hammer of Wrath” th-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/w-d-xo.html “Judgement Day” th-cam.com/video/yYEUGlFNBKc/w-d-xo.html “Nameless Warrior” th-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/w-d-xo.html and “Liar” th-cam.com/video/YWHPfnJz2qk/w-d-xo.html All of them are barn-burners. They have also posted: “Stand and Deliver” th-cam.com/video/cNi-OEjzMdA/w-d-xo.html “Swan Song” th-cam.com/video/bK21cuI-V7c/w-d-xo.html “MDO” th-cam.com/video/4jhqEGTKoSg/w-d-xo.html and “We the United” th-cam.com/video/UnNxvgLI_Rg/w-d-xo.html from the second concert. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: “Set the World on Fire” th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. “Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/w-d-xo.html, from the same concert; "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. (You just watched “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker, but is one of their least crazy songs.) Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html; And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html. For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" th-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/w-d-xo.html This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html "Glory to the World" th-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/w-d-xo.html "Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html. Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself! You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!
This is an unusual song for Lovebites... they don't often use harmonies (although I'd love them to use more), and they're usually faster and heavier, although they have plenty of songs that veer towards hard rock, like this one does. The piano piece is (apparently) a Rachmaninoff piece... Miyako usually has one piano solo intro per concert, and will play one of her favourite pieces (Chopin often gets an airing). If you go down this rabbit hole, enjoy... they really don't have any bad songs!
The riff is from Michael Jackson's "Beat It." Miyako, who is the pianist/guitarist wrote it as a tribute to Jennifer Batten, who was Michael Jackson's long-time guitarist. Interestingly, the riff in Beat It was originally played by Eddie Van Halen (and later live by Jennifer Batten), who is one of Miyako's major influences. Eddie was a major influence on her as a guitarist, and Jennifer was one of the musicians who inspired her as a woman to pick up the guitar, so the riff is a fitting tribute to both of them! Lovebites play a variety of different styles of metal. Most of their music comes under the Power Metal umbrella, but they have several songs that are inspired by NWOBHM bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Motorhead. They also have several songs that are pure thrash, as well as a number of symphonic and neo-classical metal songs, progressive metal, and a couple that are pop metal (I'd put this song in that pop metal category, along with "Dancing With the Devil.")
LOVEBITES is a five-piece all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. They won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band (2018), toured with Dragonforce (2019), first female Japanese band to perform at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and others in Europe, and are unusual among Japanese bands in choosing to sing in English plus good lyrics (a daunting task for native Japanese speakers). They play a variety of heavy metal styles and are heavily influenced by NWBHM, especially Iron Maiden and the "big four" thrash metal bands. Their live performances are best: NEW 4th STUDIO ALBUM, 2023 (Judgement Day; highly acclaimed (wiki), Guitar Solos galore): Judgement Day (music video) from their latest album, 2023 (power-thrash-symphonic metal): th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html ; Stand and Deliver (music video) th-cam.com/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/w-d-xo.html SHOW OPENERS: Thunder Vengeance (thrash - show opener): th-cam.com/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/w-d-xo.html ; The Hammer of Wrath - new release just over 1 week ago: th-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/w-d-xo.html. However, this is their first song from their very first album, 2017, but also the first with their new bassist. The previous live version of this song Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath is equally superb. RANGE OF METAL GENRES: When Destinies Align (power metal with insane solos), this is live th-cam.com/video/e48OwGcT3Bo/w-d-xo.html, the music video is also worth watching. Shadowmaker (thrash/symphonic with insane solos): th-cam.com/video/wmAKRiG89Qc/w-d-xo.html Break the Wall (thrash): th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html Set The World on Fire (thrash metal): th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html ; Edge of the World (ballad with Gary Moore inspired solo): th-cam.com/video/UZjxMjBop7w/w-d-xo.html Epilogue (ending with flashes of Hotel California/Jimi Hendricks): th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html TWO UNIQUE MASTERPIECE PERFORMANCES: The two songs below represent two exceptional performances that perhaps no other band can perform live: Swan Song (with Chopin classical piano intro) th-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/w-d-xo.html ; Frozen Serenade: th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html CLASSICAL PIANO EP covers/arrangements of Heavy Metal Songs: Interestingly, one of their lead guitarist (Miyako) just released a classical piano EP that covers Metallica (Battery), Gary Moore (The Loner), Yngwie Malmsteen (Far Beyond The Sun), Helloween (Eagle Fly Free), and Deep Purple (Burn)

This is an overview of LOVEBITES 55 self-written songs and 3 covers (plus 6+1 covers by band members) with your reaction marked with a star (*). All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her TH-cam channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!
Thank you for reacting to LOVEBITES. They are elite musicians and one of the most talented metal bands on the planet. There are probably only two other metal bands who could actually play this song live (Dream Theater and Symphony-X). It's almost criminal that LOVEBITES aren't (yet) world famous, but they will be.
There have been many people who praised this song (Empty Daydream Live in Tokyo 2019), but you're the first person I've seen who truly resonated with the song itself. I remember being so moved and stunned when I watched this video a few years ago. Your pure reaction has warmed my heart. Thank you. ✨🥰🤘
LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, A&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this mekes their style unique. 🐺🤘LOVEBITES 🤘🐺 the team of five thrashpower metal goddesses from Japan_Tokyo. Welcome to the world of Lovebites music! This band is incredible! You will be amazed with every their song! They always in white! They always on high heels! They always play these amazing long guitar solos! I suggest you to watch more heavier their songs such as "Holy war" and "Set the world on fire" from their official TH-cam channel! Thank you for the video! More Lovebites on the channel! And welcome to the WolfPack!
From Nightwish to Lovebites - wow, things have escalated quickly! Lovebites are an awesome band. They can be very melodic like this, and they can also be very fast and heavy. I'm totally with you on the ADHD.
Lovebites is the most kick ass rabbit hole you can go down. This masterpiece is one of over 50 songs this band has, and they can perform any of those songs live. It is very rare for me to say that a band has no bad songs, but more than that, every song is great or better. 😀🤘🐺
LOVEBITES is the only band that I have heard that I can honestly say have no bad songs. Even the most famous bands/singers of all time have some average (at best) songs, filler songs, B-sides to singles etc. Every song from LOVEBITES is either good, great or a freaking masterpiece.
And believe me - you ain't seen NOTHING yet ! The best current Metal band in the world will blow you away when you delve in deeper . Their musicianship and versatility is off the scale and they have one of the best back catalogues of any band . This song , believe it or not , is relatively simple by their standards - as time goes on and you listen to more of their work you'll begin to understand . Enjoy !

This was a beautiful introduction to LOVEBITES. Most of their songs are harder and faster, but they are very versatile. Both guitarists started playing guitar quite late, at age of 19 and 20, about 10 years prior to this concert. But learned to play piano since they were 3 years old. Miyako, the one who played the intro, cultivates her skills on both instruments and so she is concert pianist level and a world class guitarist at the same time. She does more impressive things on both instruments than you can imagine at the moment … And for drummer Haruna this is one of the few songs to have break during there shows 😉
Normally I'm not a huge metal fan but more at home in the rock genre, but these ladies are outstanding! Believe me, this was at best a fraction of what makes this band special. 😉 Greetings from Germany and be prepared for a certain wolf pack to make an even bigger appearance here! 🐺🤘🏻 _____________________ _"America invented rock. the more LOVEBITES you listen to the more you will realize this is THE best all female metal/rock band in the history of music. each member is insanely talented at their respective instrument and vocalist asami brings to the table what no other metal vocalist does - and that is almost operatic angelic soul to her singing. and she can go hard as well. you may hear some suggest that this riff sounds like michael jackson's beat it. but if you play the two next to each other they may sound similar but different. then as soon as the verses start they are two completely different songs. every song you will listen to will be different - none are close to being alike and that is the beauty of LOVEBITES. and all of their songs but one are in english so as to reach a wider audience.
You probably don't know it yet but I suspect that you just landed on your new favorite band!! I found them almost 3 years ago and and nowadays I need at least a daily dose of their music just to put me right.....Love it, and they are fantastic musicians!! Welcome to the Wolfpack!🤘
Nice reaction to my favorite metal group. While I love this song it probably isn't in my top 10. That's how good they are. My favorite is probably Frozen Serenade with Shadowmaker a close 2nd. Their most popular reaction wise seems to be Holy War.

They are phenomenal. As elite as each member is in their own talent, the sum of all the parts just raises it to an incredible level. The 2 guitarists (Midori & Miyako) are the best dual leads I've heard in 5 decades. They are perfectly in sync with completely different styles. Always a pleasure to see somene recoginze their level of musicianship. 60+ song catalog that is excellent
It might interest you to know that in 2018 Sleep Token & LOVEBITES were both nominated for "Best New Band" worldwide by Metal Hammer magazine in UK. (LOVEBITES won the award) All 60 LOVEBITES original songs are excellent or masterpiece, imo.
Very good reaction to my favorite band. The riff you heard is similar to Michael Jackson's Beat It as well as REO Speedwagon's Back On The Road Again. This is one of Lovebites milder songs that has more of a rock and roll sound than a heavy metal sound. Most of their songs are heavier than this and much faster in tempo. Did you notice that Miyako switched from piano to guitar? She is a virtuoso on both instruments. I hope you do more LOVEBITES. I recommend their sing Judgement Day.
The riff for this song comes from Michael Jackson's "Beat It." Guitarist Miyako has been listening to rock and pop music since she was a child under the influence of her parents, and Michael Jackson is one of her favorites.
If you want a cleaner sound, they have live studio performances too. I would recommend "Burden of Time". Miyako really shows what she can do on the guitar and piano. And it's a really good song.
YES - she plays the piano and the keyboard AT THE SAME TIME. Here's a time-stamped link: "Burden of Time" th-cam.com/video/4OBf_Gn8efs/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=s-cream-s&t=194s
"Moments Musicaux Op. 16 No. 4" by Sergei Rachmaninoff (Rachmaninoff) is incorporated into the prelude. Miyako(G Key and Piano) added this piece to the prelude to Live in 2019. Miyako has also composed several other classically-inspired compositions, incorporating a fusion of metal and classical music in the introduction. The song "Empty Daydream" has a similar vibe to Michael Jackson's "Beat It" in parts. I thought so too until I heard the following, which was pointed out in other reactionary content on LOVEBITES. Reo Speedwagon "Back On The Road Again" released in 1979 (TH-cam channel "JoseCotdino"). However, in the case of Love Bites' "Empty Daydream," I believe it was influenced by Michael Jackson's "Beat It" (released in 1982) performed by JENNIFER BATTEN. Miyako later said that one of her Top 5 guitar heroes is Jennifer Batten.
Next, watch LOVEBITES as they SET THE WORLD ON FIRE - th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html BAND-MAID are another, very different, all-female Japanese five-piece you should know. Start with this live performance from 2020: DOMINATION- th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html You should hang out with Alan of Dicodec and complain about all the mixes.
Most of their songs are love letters to 80s metal of one sort or another. For all their strengths, their song writing / arrangements is what impresses me most
PS - I think the opening piano piece is part of the band's love affair with Rachmaninov. Miyako also integrates Chopin and Beethoven into their shows at different times. The familiar riff you're hearing I think is very similar to a REO Speedwagon song (can't remember the name). Probably the similarity is unintentional and rock and roll is often about taking familiar bits and pieces and reassembling them into something new.

Indeed, Miyako (the pianist), her first instrument was piano since age of three. She was actually trained to be a concert pianist. She only picked up the guitar when she was around 17~18, during her high school years - and she is self taught on the guitar. She can also play the bass and drums. She composes around 60% of all their songs. Their skill wise, they are all Jedi level musicians.
Also, I understand that Miyako’s mother was a big Richie Blackmore fan, so that might be some of her very earliest influences. I will be seeing “The Golden Touch” and the other super talented ladies play live in London this summer 😊
Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites and spreading the word because they deserve more recognition. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile proficient musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are Metallica, Judas Priest, Helloween, Slayer, Angra, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Yngwie Malmsteen, Deep Purple, Gary Moore, Dragonforce, etc., but they have been developing their own unique style. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in almost seven years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band. Miyako is a concert level classical pianist, trained since she was 3 years old. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. If you want heavy stuff, then I recommend “The hammer of wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Break the wall”, “Set the world on fire”, “When destinies align”, “Winds of Transylvania”, “Shadowmaker”, “Above the Black Sea”, “The unbroken”, “The apocalypse”, “Under the red sky”. For a softer side of them: “Chopin etude + Swan song”, “Edge of the World”, “Epilogue”, “Liar”, “Spellbound”, “Frozen serenade” (all live)
I'm late the Lovebites party, having only been introduced to them in the last year. It's yet another metal band worth a deep dive. I enjoy your reactions. Thanks for this one!
Amazing reaction. 🙂Your face tells so much. 😃I hardly ever saw a "Not-Yet-Wolfpacker" with such clear face expressions of disbelief, curiosity and surprise. 😄"Empty daydream" actually _is_ a cool first Lovebites song to react to: It holds many features typical for Lovebites, but does not intimidate newbies by high-paced shredding or _heavy_ distortion. Personally, I _looove_ Lovebites', because they like to mix different music styles in their songs - be it Soul and Metal, Blues and Metal, or classical piano and Metal. Meaning (for yourself): You just happened to open a _rabbithole_ full of about 60 fascinating Metal songs, with many, many actual _masterpieces_ among them. Mark my words: *Lovebites are highly addictive* . As soon as you like 3 or 4 of their songs (does not matter which ones), you will end up buying all of their records, and maybe even their merch stuff. 😁Therefore keep an eye on your personal agenda (time...!), and on your money. 😉 🐺DE
Miyako, the one playing the piano, started play it at age 3. She didn't even start guitar until she was almost 19 and is self taught, learning mostly by ear and a guitar instruction manual. Along with classical piano and guitar, Miyako is skilled at bass and drums. Asami the singer, has a background as an R&B and soul singer and never really listened to metal before joining Lovebites. All the ladies really are exceptional musicians. Also, one important thing to keep in mind is the drastic linguistics differences between Japanese and English when it comes to sentence structure and cadence; and then making an "L" sound, like "lu", where you scrape your tongue across the roof of your mouth, isn't natural in Japanese speech. Thats why sometimes their "L" can sound like an "R" (la sounding like ra). Anyway saying all that to point out the additional challenge they have singing in English.
Actually all of the girls have studied piano from an early age. try Swan Song live 2020 / Chopin intro. This the best version to watch. You can also see the singers 16 years of ballet training come out too.
Hi. Nice commentary. This is from their first DVD "Daughters of the Dawn" (2019). You could see a progression in their other official live productions "Five of a Kind" (2020), "Heavy Metal Never Dies" (2021) and "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate" (2023).
I may be wrong but I believe the reason why the guitar riff sounds familiar to some is that half sounds similar to the Eddie Van Halen riff during his solo on Michael Jackson's BEAT IT. Listen to BEAT IT. Check it out.
Although it is similar, the riff is far from identical to the main riff from either "Beat It" or "Back On The Road Again". LOVEBITES would have found themselves in court if there was any suggestion of plagiarism.
It really doesn't, as that would be plaigerism, and LOVEBITES don't need to plaigerise from anyone. They have never said anything about this riff being from, or even inspired by any other song. It is true that the riff sounds a bit like those songs you've mentioned, but I strongly suspect that is simply coincidence. There are many millions of songs that have been written, so it shouldn't be too surprising that some of them sound similar.
@@1970Phoenix I didn’t say they stole it. I’m merely saying it sounds like it. And the end of Liar sounds like the end of Hallowed be thy Name by Iron Maiden, and Swan Song sounds a little like Stand-up and Shout from Dio, blah blah blah. That’s a lot of coincidences. Don’t get me wrong, I love this band, but you can’t tell me that they’re not picking up things from other songs. You know what they say, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Others have commented on the Beat It riff and the link to Jenifer Batten so I won't repeat. But I will add that the white and gold dresses were part of their statement not to be pressured into being a stereotypical metal band. This band is special. 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Welcome to the world of the Wolfpack. Maybe you will join us some day if you listen to these amazing ladies enough. This is one of their 'softer' songs. Although they play a great variety of styles, the majority of their songs are faster and Heavier than this one. That riff you liked does remind me of two vary different songs. First there is a taste Michael Jackson's Beat It, second maybe a bit of Hot Blooded. I sure it was accidental - it's probably just a good riff they came up with then they were messing around. BTW - that piece that Miyako played at the beginning is from Rachmaninov - I forget the name. He and Franz Liszt are at the top of Her 'favorite' piano composers.
Dive deeper into Lovebites... You're not alone, the wolfpack will always giude you... You might find somethings and you will rest in peace in the future...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Love your reaction..want to see more from you absolutely..they play various style of metal..shadowmaker is the speedy one,and my fav too..and oh btw,the main riff reminds you to michael jackson' beat it maybe.. has similiarity to it a lil bit..
Dont worry about their Mix , just appreciate them , and their rifts well , what can i say , they have a number of influences we all know and heard of , ❤❤
@@ginxreacts Empty Daydream was composed by Miyako, the guitarist who also opened the song on the piano. She started playing piano at age 3 and, at age 18, decided to teach herself to play guitar through a series of guitar instruction books that emphasized metal songs. The first song she taught herself to play all the way through was Metallica's Master of Puppets. She is now both a world-class pianist and guitarist. She grew up listening to music that her mother enjoyed, which was a lot of rock and also Michael Jackson. She has listed Thriller as one of 10 songs that changed her life because of Eddie Van Halen's guitar work. She also is a big fan of the guitarist Jennifer Batten, who played guitar for Michael Jackson on his world tours (she also played with Jeff Beck). More than two dozen Lovebites songs have been composed by Miyako, including 5 that I consider masterpieces. Add musical composition to her world-class talents.
You've found them, now you've been bitten. Don't worry, its for good. I think you'll got mesmerised when check up all their live performances especially latest YT 'We The United' live from Knocking At Heavens Gate concert. Check them more and ready to get amazed continuously. 🤘👍Great reaction.
The first was: Rachmaninoff's "Moment Musicaux Op. 16 No. 4 in E Minor" and the second is Michael Jackson "Beat it" but same, because cover of the first!
Great reaction. I think the riff style that you were trying to remember was possibly Iron Maiden as they are greatly influenced by British bands as them and Judas Priest, Saxon etc. Looking forward to the next one. Hopefully more Nightwish too! Take care 😊
As far as I know, LOVEBITES have never said this riff is a tribute to anyone. I think that is just internet speculation. Even though the riff is similar to the riff in "Beat It" and "Back On The Road Again", I strongly suspect that is just a coincidence.
Great reaction. According to my memory, the studio recorded version doesn't have the Rachmaninov intro though I have not heard the album quite a time. This piece and my suggestion for your next reaction to Lovebites a most beautiful prog A Frozen Serenade are not their typical style because they are basically a power/thrash metal band but try it. This is the link to A Frozen Serenade. th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html
😏♥️🎙🎸🎹🥁😎🤘
The band members of LOVEBITES are (including their official nicknames)
Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
Has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, also she is a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, she loves her pets and Star Wars
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, does songwriting for a few songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Best drummer in the universe (IMO), wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3, also the band was Miho‘s idea, she and Haruna were the founding members!
This is just the tip of the iceberg. These ladies are so amazingly talented!
The Goddesses of Heavy Metal. They have my heart. 🖤🐺
LOVEBITES - Empty Daydream lyrics:
Memories I can’t erase still haunting me
Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes
Falling down
Breaking heart
A growing addiction
Just let me go away
Just let me go my way
Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control
I’m losing sight of me
I’m losing sight of you
I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will go on
Nothing new, pretending not to know the truth
Rendezvous, without emotion or heart
I won’t show how weak and sad I am inside
Even though I know it’s just silly pride
Empty room
Endless rain
The end of a daydream
You never call my name
You never feel the same
You never make me feel like I deserve any love
I’m waiting for the dawn
I’m waiting for the time
I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal,
so I can go on
SOLO: miyako / midori / miyako / both
Memories I can’t erase still haunting me
Silently you stare with cold, empty eyes
Falling down
Breaking heart
A growing addiction
Empty room
Endless rain
The end of a daydream
Just let me go away
Just let me go my way
Just let me go, I won’t become a doll you control
I’m losing sight of me
I’m losing sight of you
I’m losing sanity and I don’t know how I will…
You never call my name
You never feel the same
You never make me feel like I deserve any love
I’m waiting for the dawn
I’m waiting for the time
I’m waiting for my bleeding heart to heal,
so I can go on

Top comment, but you failed to mention the existence of little trolls without a life!
Wouldn't in be more accurate to say the main riff is 'inspired' by "Beat It" rather than 'from' "Beat It", which implies plagiarism. To my ear at least, the riffs are quite different.
"Welcome to the realm of the Wolfpack (Lovebites fans from around the world)"
Welcome back my friend.@@ingopek5485
@@1970Phoenix Good point. Having said that, a lot of music nowadays are based partially on sampling. Miyako paid tribute to Batten and MJ so I guess that doesn't count as plagiarism.
Just a warning: Almost every other song by LOVEBITES is harder! "Empty Daydream", "Epilogue" and "Edge of the World" are the "E" songs, a cycle of calmer songs. But LOVEBITES are destined to "play hard" Heavy Metal, multiple styles...
Super excited to check out more!

They have posted four performances from that DVD:
”Hammer of Wrath” th-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/w-d-xo.html
“Judgement Day” th-cam.com/video/yYEUGlFNBKc/w-d-xo.html
“Nameless Warrior” th-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/w-d-xo.html and
“Liar” th-cam.com/video/YWHPfnJz2qk/w-d-xo.html
All of them are barn-burners.
They have also posted:
“Stand and Deliver” th-cam.com/video/cNi-OEjzMdA/w-d-xo.html
“Swan Song” th-cam.com/video/bK21cuI-V7c/w-d-xo.html
“MDO” th-cam.com/video/4jhqEGTKoSg/w-d-xo.html and
“We the United” th-cam.com/video/UnNxvgLI_Rg/w-d-xo.html
from the second concert.
Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981).
Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html
The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc.
As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band."
Here are more clips you should check out:
“Set the World on Fire” th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”.
“Don’t Bite the Dust” th-cam.com/video/oHnKGEj1CMc/w-d-xo.html, from the same concert;
"Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: th-cam.com/video/sl0-U-ykJCU/w-d-xo.html They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope.
(You just watched “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker, but is one of their least crazy songs.)
Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html;
And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: th-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/w-d-xo.html
Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar.
For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both)
While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular:
"Shadowmaker" th-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/w-d-xo.html
This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world
"When Destinies Align" th-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/w-d-xo.html
"Glory to the World" th-cam.com/video/-wJtD2XEXH4/w-d-xo.html
"Winds of Transylvania" th-cam.com/video/HsE4Ub_Pjh8/w-d-xo.html.
"Inspired by", rather than "from" 'Beat It'. If you listen to the two songs, the riffs (although with similarities) are far from identical.
It also sounds like the riff from REO Speedwagon's Back on the Road Again th-cam.com/video/Dva8aVJH8uE/w-d-xo.html
@ChadTheDragonLord Tge very first time I heard it , REO was my first thought!
@@1970Phoenix Correct, and I should have said influenced by. There are differences.
welcome to the world of Lovebites the world of beautiful ballads, heavy, power, speed; thrash metal.
Their live performances are best:
NEW 4th STUDIO ALBUM, 2023 (Judgement Day; highly acclaimed (wiki), Guitar Solos galore):
Judgement Day (music video) from their latest album, 2023 (power-thrash-symphonic metal): th-cam.com/video/m3uGjp-P7DI/w-d-xo.html ;
Stand and Deliver (music video) th-cam.com/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/w-d-xo.html
SHOW OPENERS:
Thunder Vengeance (thrash - show opener): th-cam.com/video/yWE7PqCpGi4/w-d-xo.html ;
The Hammer of Wrath - new release just over 1 week ago: th-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/w-d-xo.html. However, this is their first song from their very first album, 2017, but also the first with their new bassist. The previous live version of this song Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath is equally superb.
RANGE OF METAL GENRES:
When Destinies Align (power metal with insane solos), this is live th-cam.com/video/e48OwGcT3Bo/w-d-xo.html, the music video is also worth watching.
Shadowmaker (thrash/symphonic with insane solos): th-cam.com/video/wmAKRiG89Qc/w-d-xo.html
Break the Wall (thrash): th-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/w-d-xo.html

Epilogue (ending with flashes of Hotel California/Jimi Hendricks): th-cam.com/video/1ynnXDfEnnY/w-d-xo.html
TWO UNIQUE MASTERPIECE PERFORMANCES:
The two songs below represent two exceptional performances that perhaps no other band can perform live:
Swan Song (with Chopin classical piano intro) th-cam.com/video/dcMVtrvpJpk/w-d-xo.html ;
Frozen Serenade: th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html
CLASSICAL PIANO EP covers/arrangements of Heavy Metal Songs:
Interestingly, one of their lead guitarist (Miyako) just released a classical piano EP that covers Metallica (Battery), Gary Moore (The Loner), Yngwie Malmsteen (Far Beyond The Sun), Helloween (Eagle Fly Free), and Deep Purple (Burn)
Helloween (Eagle Fly Free) has an MV.

Thank you!
It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces and even punk.

"WE ARE LOVEBITES AND WE PLAY HEAVYYYY METAAAAL!!!"
Stay safe. Stay Lovebites.
These girls simply manage to break all stereotypes in heavy music in recent years. And they are wonderful at it - they are simply LOVEBITES! 🤘💯👍👍👍
My favorite band.
Composed and written and played by Miyako of Lovrbites
The piano intro from Miyako is based on Rachmaninoff, one of Miyako's favorite composers.🤘🎹🔥
Enjoy !
Welcome!
Thank you for your reaction to LOVEBITES.
Very nice analysis and feedback.
Please spread LOVEBITES to the world through your channel.
LOVEBITES has about 60 songs.

She does more impressive things on both instruments than you can imagine at the moment …
And for drummer Haruna this is one of the few songs to have break during there shows 😉
Normally I'm not a huge metal fan but more at home in the rock genre, but these ladies are outstanding! Believe me, this was at best a fraction of what makes this band special. 😉
Greetings from Germany and be prepared for a certain wolf pack to make an even bigger appearance here! 🐺🤘🏻

the more LOVEBITES you listen to the more you will realize this is THE best all female metal/rock band in the history of music. each member is insanely talented at their respective instrument and vocalist asami brings to the table what no other metal vocalist does - and that is almost operatic angelic soul to her singing. and she can go hard as well. you may hear some suggest that this riff sounds like michael jackson's beat it. but if you play the two next to each other they may sound similar but different. then as soon as the verses start they are two completely different songs. every song you will listen to will be different - none are close to being alike and that is the beauty of LOVEBITES. and all of their songs but one are in english so as to reach a wider audience.
It sounds more like REO Speedwagon's Back On The Road Again th-cam.com/video/Dva8aVJH8uE/w-d-xo.html
yeah that is a bit closer to daydream than beat it@@ChadTheDragonLord
You probably don't know it yet but I suspect that you just landed on your new favorite band!! I found them almost 3 years ago and and nowadays I need at least a daily dose of their music just to put me right.....Love it, and they are fantastic musicians!! Welcome to the Wolfpack!🤘
Nice reaction to my favorite metal group. While I love this song it probably isn't in my top 10. That's how good they are. My favorite is probably Frozen Serenade with Shadowmaker a close 2nd. Their most popular reaction wise seems to be Holy War.
Nice, thank you!
I love Frozen Serenade. It’s a masterpiece!
Certainly agree with "Frozen Serenade". In my opinion, it easily belongs on any list of the best 100 hard rock/metal songs of all time.
Lovebites fans will have different top 10 Lovebites songs, and they will all be correct.

Very good reaction, you've found pretty much all remarkable aspects on the very first song!
Lovebites are Cowboy Approved! You’re in for one helluva great ride on the Lovebites train.😊
It might interest you to know that in 2018 Sleep Token & LOVEBITES were both nominated for "Best New Band" worldwide by Metal Hammer magazine in UK.
(LOVEBITES won the award)
All 60 LOVEBITES original songs are excellent or masterpiece, imo.
I think the piece on the piano is Rachmaninov.
I agree.
MJ probably got the riff from REO Speedwagon before him. All music is influenced by those who came before them.

Thank you for completing my comment.
I think so too.
Next, watch LOVEBITES as they SET THE WORLD ON FIRE - th-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/w-d-xo.html
BAND-MAID are another, very different, all-female Japanese five-piece you should know. Start with this live performance from 2020: DOMINATION- th-cam.com/video/QbyQCJn6rYg/w-d-xo.html
You should hang out with Alan of Dicodec and complain about all the mixes.

Welcome to Lovebites!!
😉 🐺DE
Welcome to the WOLFPACK FAMILY,more LOVEBITES Pls,thanks 🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Oh Oh Oh a lion. th-cam.com/video/a9iVssLwvPM/w-d-xo.html
The familiar guitar riff is taken from the song 'Back on the Road Again' (R.E.O Speedwagon - Nine lives album 1979).
Actually all of the girls have studied piano from an early age. try Swan Song live 2020 / Chopin intro. This the best version to watch. You can also see the singers 16 years of ballet training come out too.
"Chopin/Swan Song" LIVE 2020 [cc] lyrics: th-cam.com/video/WBhtqgiXEA4/w-d-xo.html
Well....the Main riff is basically "BEAT IT" by M.Jackson. One of the most favorite songs of Miyako (Black hair guitarrist and pianist)
lol, I was so annoyed at myself for going blank because I knew I knew it😅
@@ginxreacts Back on the road again by REO Speedwagon from '79, MJ took the main riff from them.
Although it is similar, the riff is far from identical to the main riff from either "Beat It" or "Back On The Road Again". LOVEBITES would have found themselves in court if there was any suggestion of plagiarism.
Sounds more like REO Speedwagon th-cam.com/video/Dva8aVJH8uE/w-d-xo.html
Easily The Prettiest Song This Group Has Ever Done ...So Well Done
I've never heard that description before, but I like it.
YOU NEVER PAUSE ON THE QUEENS😭
Just kidding, the wolfpack enjoyed your reaction
Yes, the riff comes from REO Speedwagon back on the road again. It sounds a little like Michael Jackson too.
"Live" is where LOVEBITES feeds and thrives!!
MJ's " Beat It " had a similar guitar riff a drum beat.

Love your reaction..want to see more from you absolutely..they play various style of metal..shadowmaker is the speedy one,and my fav too..and oh btw,the main riff reminds you to michael jackson' beat it maybe.. has similiarity to it a lil bit..
Rather atypical song for them. But nice to see a different first introduction to them than usual.

Take care 😊
More Lovebites 🎸🔥🎤
We are and we play heavy metal..LOVEBITES never dies🤘🐺🔥
Thanks for reaction. The are the queens of metal they make the metal beautiful. Next song shadow marker live 2020 you will see something different
Swan Song with Chopin intro…..
I know someone mentioned that the riff is a tribute to Beat It, but to me there is a lot of REO Speedwagon in there.
As far as I know, LOVEBITES have never said this riff is a tribute to anyone. I think that is just internet speculation. Even though the riff is similar to the riff in "Beat It" and "Back On The Road Again", I strongly suspect that is just a coincidence.
Love Midori💚💚💚💚💚
Welcome to the Wolfpack. I wish you a good journey through the universe of the goddesses of heavy metal.
Reo Speedwagon - Back On The Road Again...
Agree. "Frozen Serenade" is a masterpiece, one of the best metal songs ever written.
