My aunt got into roller derby by accident 😂 Some guy with a team watched her slam into a huge tree and just keep rolling like nothing happened, so he invited her to try out. She loved it.
@@jackystar5099 I've met thousands of people in my life and nobody had this skeleton face expression while speaking :D Too bad there is no specialist for the kind of problem you have
My suggestion is long pants that cover your legs, I know it’s hot outside and shorts can be really cute but if you fall you will get bad road rash, I personally don’t even skate in roller rinks unless my legs are covered. If your really set in wear shorts I would suggest wearing a pair of skin tone tights under neath like the ones figure skaters where. I’m an artistic roller skater so I already have these, I get mine from a company named mondor, and it’s important you get ones specifically made for skating or they won’t be thick enough to withstand a fall. Tights might not help when your skating outside on pavement, but they save me from getting hurt when I fall at the rink. As far as outdoor skating goes, if your not confident in your ability to skate well with minimal falling I wouldn’t skate with your legs exposed. For tops I you can wear pretty much whatever, although I would avoid strapless tube tops that you constantly have to adjust. All of this is just my suggestion though, so wear whatever you find is most comfortable to skate in.
Well some derby girls (like me) wear padded shorts under our clothes because it can protect that lower back/upper butt area from REALLY hurting when you fall on it.

You are awesome, I am a roller disco dance skater, from a while ago, I got to perform in Vegas, California , Chicago, and it was a blast. I gave it up after an outside fall which broke my wrist in my 40's. But my daughter found your videos and with some old skates of my sisters started skating on the patio, and when I saw her doing that it brought me back to how I began skating. There is one banked track league in AZ called the Arizona Derby Dames (AZDD) and then Arizona Roller Derby (AZRD) is a flat track league. there are also some leagues in the southern AZ Tuscon area and up north in Flagstaff. I really like AZRD because they understand that not everybody grew up skating or has enough experience to be on skates to feel comfortable just jumping into the sport and so they make new skaters go through three different cycles. 1 being basic skills, 2 making contact with other skaters and 3 game strategy. So as someone who was never cool enough to be invited to the roller rink it's been really great to be able to fall down multiple times knowing that I have a strong group of skaters cheering me on to get back up and try again!

All I knew from Rollerderby before joining the Groningen team was from Whip It, and I was honestly so disappointed that there was not a banked track 😭 still great fun though!
This is insane. If this is the night im thinking of, I believe this was my 1st or 2nd time driving from San Antonio up to austin with my mom to watch. After we saw the movie whip it we decided to go see the real deal. I saw Hellcats vs Holy Rollers (I rooted for RH because blue is my fave colour, sorry Indy lol). And the other time. SO BADASS
THIS IS A WOMAN'S SPORT THAT SHOULD BE FRONT AND CENTER CELEBRATED. SHOULD BE ON ESPN. HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS HASN'T BLOWN UP AS A HUGE TV SPORT.
I went was Hellcats vs Cherry Bombs. I think i was there this night tbh. I have been watchin your videos without even realizing I had seen you in person!!!
Yes we stan workers owning the means of their production!!! NO MORE BIG ROLLER DERBY 👿
Damn I thought her god awful makeup and moustache were the most hilarious part of the video. Turns out it's the commie's in the comments lmao
