I love roller derby I remember going down to the Olympic auditorium on Saturday nights and seeing the Thunderbirds go against tunes like the Texas outlaws Chicago Hawks Detroit devils some great times great memories met a lot of great people it's sad with those days are long gone it's like dust in the wind I thank God for the great memories
I love this sport and I don't get into sports the only sport my father and I agree on I have the Roller Girls A&E dvd set
I’ve always wanted to try roller derby but I’m a big baby. However last year I’ve really been forced out of my comfort zone and I think I might give it a try.
Brings back memories of Leon Russell and his sort of rag time number called "Queen of the Roller Derby".
But then, I am old. 😎

I would have liked to see some gameplay, instead of all those slow motions.
Showed literally none of the actual derby, just scuffles.

My Father and I where big derby fans we live in Kenosha wi we between Milwaukee Wi and Chicago IL so we saw a lot of derby on tv back in the retro day my father rip I lost him last year a stroke at age 81 god bless all you derby fans

Used to watch Roller Derby with my father. The thing that sticks with me was, "Men are mean, but women are vicious."
Now THIS is roller derby! Just like the good old days! I can't stand the flat surfaced modern day roller derby! It defeats the purpose and doesn't encourage girls to be properly disciplined! They need a track just like this one which is similar to the way this phenomenal sport was back in the seventies and eighties! Where the players ultimately would beat the shit out of each other!

I use to love watching the sport.
I just wonder why black girls never played historically. I'm a great skater, but I never felt welcomed to play in this sport.

The sport has become downright boring by comparison with the way is used to be. These women aren't badasses. The women of the 70's were badasses.
