You have great skills and a whole lot of patience. It turned out great....however, I kinda wish that you went with the original orange color scheme and paint details.
Thank you!! I had a lot of back and forth on what to do with the paint. I took inspiration from the countach LP500. Which this casting was based on. I hope you enjoyed!!
It depends on condition of what I start with and yes. I make customs and do restorations on the side. Anywhere from 35-100 depending on what needs to be done.
That was my first car my Grandmother bought for me. At a pet store in Chicago. The owner had the cars in a round carousel. On the table you pick out the one you wanted. He would give it too you in a box . Thanks for letting me see that car again.
@@COMMONDAVE419 you won’t believe this, but I was thinking the same thing I build Air fix models , i’ve only just started doing it in the last few months , it relaxes me at my age of 57 lol 😂
This is so weird that this video popped up in my feed. Had this car when I was a kid, was at a comic book shop a few weeks back and they had a pristine one for sale. It's sitting on shelf under my TV now. Great restoration and I've subscribed.
Great job with your restoration of the Matchbox Lamborghini Countach . It came out incredible like the paint yellow and the very cool detail painting of the motor . If l tried doing the work on it to finish l add the rear wing or maybe it didn't come on the 74' real life car.
Thank you!! The casting was based off of the countach LP500. So I wanted to keep that theme. From everything I researched the LP500 was a prototype/concept car. They also did one in purple. And yes this one did not have a wing. If you have a chance google countach LP500 it's a beautiful car!! Thank you and I hope you enjoyed!!
@@COMMONDAVE419 Too many honestly... I have Hot Wheels, Matchbox, M2, Johnny Lightning, Autoworld, Greenlight, and Ertl. What's your favorite castings?
I'm a huge fan of the syclone. I love the time machine delorean aswell. But yes I also collect a ton of others. Lol. I kinda just buy what catches my eye.
Sir, I would like to share my pleasure of watching your great skills in 1/64 restoration. And you painted this Countache the most hard colour. Yellow. I can’t believe my eyes seeing the final result. All yellow cars from factory are ugly. I can see green and black stripes under the yellow. Never bought. You made me believe that yellow is fine. When the master is doing the job! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That's come out amazing. The stock look is just brilliant. I am curious. You really spent quite a while sanding off those louvres. Wouldn't filling with some sort of epoxy putty and sanding thereafter have worked as a better and quicker solution?
Thank you!! I trying to be as delicate as I can with the old casting and pieces. I personally prefer to use hand sanding. I feel like I have more precise control that way. Yes, it is probably a fast process, you are not wrong. I appreciate the question!! I hope you enjoyed!!

Do you ever take something like this further, like dropping black ink i the panel lines or looking up the actual cars to see what might have had some extra details going on?
Yes indeed. Most of the time I look them up. This one I took inspiration from the LP500. Also have to remember this is just a toy Car. Sometimes I have plans to go much further but when I get to a point I'm happy with I stop. I hope you enjoyed!! Thank you for the comment.
Silly question but, I’m curious why the lime away needs to be neutralized? Your videos are awesome and fascinating and I usually follow your process no problems but, I don’t understand that step.
I wish you could have found wheel sets with longer axles. They’re too far inside the wells, they need to be about flush with the sides of the body. Also the Countach came out in 1974. Maybe the Matchbox toy came out in ’73 based on concept cars or spy photos or pre-production promotional materials?
I agree with the wheels, I had a tough time picking em for the look I wanted. I want to do as minimal modification to the inside chassis as I could while still keeping this wheel set up. And yes this casting was based off of the countach LP500. If you google countach LP500 you will see where I got my inspiration from. Beautiful car. I also believe they did one in purple. Thank you for watching and I do hope you enjoyed!!
