WHO AM I?
My name is Marijna van Mill, I am 19 years old and from the Netherlands.
Since I was 12 years old I am collecting reborn dolls,
and since 2021 I paint them myself!
On this channel I make videos about reborns and everything around that subject.
And sometimes there might pop on a video about my personal life or something just something totally different.
WHAT ARE REBORNS?
Reborns are hyper realistic dolls created by artists.
First there is a really long process of making the kit, that process is called sculpting. Sculpting is done by a sculpter.
After the sculpt is completed it goes to a factory where they'll make vinyl kits out of it.
When the kits are produced, they go to a artist like me.
We buy the kits off of a (legit) website, an dthey get sended to us.
Once we recieve the kit, we start painting it with special made reborn paint.
After a really long process the painting is done an dit time to get hair.
Sometimes they can get painted hair, but sometimes rooted.
Rooting hair means ''piercing'' every hair into the head 1-2 hairs per stab with a special made ''rooting needle''.
After all that is done we assemble the limbs and the head to a cloth body and the reborn dolls is born!
They are artwork, just as much as a van Gogh is art.
Thats why these dolls are so expensiv!

Oh that's right, you're Dutch! I used to go to the Netherlands every Spring for the tulips because I had a floral shop. I can speak and write a little bit in Dutch, and when you started talking about the food, I have to tell you...I miss the frites with Dutch mayonaise!!!!!! And the herring sold by the street vendors!!!!! Omg!!!! I love you country!!!! And I rented a bike and rode everywhere, never a car!! So yeah, I think it's nice you're speaking English for us. I remember whenever I would come to the Netherlands, I would have a sore throat after a week of trying to speak the words correctly. 😅 But I loved it because I like speaking different languages!! Anyway, thank you!!! 🥰
