    Seems clear that they never intended to do this in the first place. That although chara has a conscious of their own, they can't do anything about it. But watch the player just mercilessly use their body to kill every single monster. Their voice is much more heard in this game then frisk was in undertale, either due to how quiet frisk is or how talkative chara is
    Edit: Tying into what someone else said about influence, it seems this game is going to eventually cover the huge topic of influence. Based on the path you take, chara unlocks different memories. Both of which ultimately help chara side with the player at the end. As a pacifist you unlock good memories and want to be kind and passionate and save monsterkind. As a genocider chara remembers all the negative parts of their memories, unleashing their rage and vengeance which ultimately plays into why they might wanna side with you by the end of Genocide.

      @@antunderexist692I don't think it's frisk As we seen in the game, the characters change their roles but not their personalities and it seems that Frisk was a very good kid Probably changing the dialogue is something that the player does, since at the beginning we are presented with 2 options that imply the same thing, however if we choose the option on the right the dialogue changes It could be said that it is the player's need to continue with the game, this is reinforced when Papyrua asks us why we do this on the genocidal route. If we choose the dialogue on the right it will say "because I wanted to see.." see how the story ends if I choose this path

      @@davideduardo6080 But there's some similar details that it could be Frisk but they're just helping us with our goal and I highly believe that Frisk is talking to Chara in the game over scene. The prompts always change in the right option, not the left, Undertale also did this, at the Alphys date, the left prompts are basic stuff "Hello Alphys" but in the right option it's "Yo you one hot baby". It feels like this game is following that theory, Chara talks in the left options and Frisk talks in the right options.

    How Chara feel when fandom says that was their fault again...
    Edit:Bro I started a whole war out there, some ppl say it's not, someone say it is. Quick explanation: I also thought it was Chara's fault, but then I understood what it's player's actions. Chara's appearance is the result of PLAYER's actions. Although they don't really care about us murdering entire underground, they're still a consequence. People just think they can put all of their sins on child's back, who randomly revived after our execution(how fair). Red text is not confirmed to be Chara's words, or maybe Toby just forgot...Still can't imagine people's arguments about Chara's fault, oh wait, there they are, let's take a look...Well, yeah, I guess Chara didn't stoped this madness, but genocide route was still player's fault.(I'll stand on it no matter what)

      I believe, that in case of genocide, it's truly Chara's fault. As we can see in dialogue, he doesn't confirming, that it's our doing. He is talking mainly about himself and his actions. So I doubt that Player is responsible for that, if he even exist in this universe

    I believe that, just like in the original Undertale, Chara is influenced by Frisk in each run, and Frisk is the main reason why Chara does the Ruthless run in the first place. Even in other runs, Frisk is the one who presumably pushes Chara forward by changing their dialogue options; for example, when Chara attempts to tell Asgore that they want to stay and live with him, Frisk changes the dialogue forcing Chara to ask Asgore where the exit to Ruined Home is. Notably, after doing this, right before Asgore decides to fight Chara in order for them to prove themselves, Asgore notes that he noticed a sense of curiousity and a desire for adventure in Chara, when in reality we know that Chara would have preferred just staying with Asgore in Ruined Home, so it seems that this is a result of Frisk's influence, who we know from the original game to be a curious and adventurous person who pushes forward and has the potential to do any run of the game. In the Ruthless run, Frisk influences Chara into killing the monsters, perhaps out of curiosity or some other unspecified reason, and Chara experiences a certain feeling as their EXP and LV increase, just like in the original Undertale. They will probably eventually convince themselves that this power they are gaining has been the purpose all along of this run and that whoever is influencing them is doing this to help them achieve their purpose, although that's not necessarily the case since, again, Frisk could simply be doing this out of curiosity. This is not to say that Frisk is necessarily evil in this game, but rather, Frisk and Chara keep their own personalities from Undertale just like the other characters, with Frisk being capable of both good and bad and Chara being influenced by them.
    Of course, this is just my theory based on what we've seen so far, and I might or might not be proven wrong once future chapters are released, so take this with a grain of salt.

      nah. it's the player, just like in undertale. frisk is not the reason why chara does the ruthless run, nor do they influence chara in undertale. frisk is a conduit for the player in undertale, which is why in other games where the characters are actually meant to have consciousnesses (e.g kris, TS!US chara) that their real selves shine through the cracks. instead of them being shaped by the player, like frisk, they are forced to watch the consequences of choices not made by them

    • @salvo403

      @Mr_Perfect_Cell I don't think that the player is canon in UT and in TS!US. The player is never directly addressed in UT, nor is there anything implying their existence. We simply play as Frisk, similarly to how we play as Mario in a Mario game. Plus, Frisk is clearly the one who changes the dialogue options. As someone else pointed out, we can testify that we aren't the ones doing that, but it happens automatically; so it's very clearly not the player's doing. Frisk is also the one who changes the dialogue options at the end of Ruthless when Chara attempts to tell Papyrus they don't want to kill anymore, preventing them from saying that.

That's doesn't seem like something Chara would do lol (and TS!US has been really faithful to Chara's characterization from the original)
      also people can argue the option change is because of idk, "The Player" but even those changed dialogue options has a certain characteristics to it, its hard to make me think that it's just an entity that represents the player and nothing more

  • @Saissem
    @Saissem 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

    It's funny to see that even today people are stupid enough to think that chara is evil and blablabla but the real fault here is the player who choose to do bad things.
    Chara is just a silly, creepy child (almost like kris) not a murderer or some shit like that.

    • @cantmakeacreativename2072
      @cantmakeacreativename2072 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      To be fair, they’re definitely not fully innocent. They still go along with the idea of murder, for the goal of power during the genocide route, and this is partially independent of the player. Nothing in the game will change that fact.
      Of course, that’s where their evil ends. And it usually tends to be overblown. Chara does not want to needlessly destroy monsters, and they do not want to continuously do genocide runs after genocide runs, in fact, that very thing is what they insult you for, as they find it pointless to just continue doing the same thing over and over again for no reason other then for the thrill. Which is something they find actively disgusting.
      Nonethless, the Chara is evil theory still does apply to some degree, however, this is strictly speaking in the genocide route. And there are numerous other theories about Chara’s involvement in the pacifist route, so that at least is a bright side.
