Idk what's so weird, they released a trailer to get people hyped, get investors happy and giving them money, they hired people and are working on the game. We haven't seen actual gameplay, which means the game is nowhere near finished, so the reason we haven't seen anything at the conference is likely that there wasn't anything worth showing
It's fine. Let them slowly cook. We don't need more rushed releases only to be hit by massive issues during launch, which would only kill the game. Compensation rewards are nice, but playing a game that has been properly developed is nicer..feels like they respect the players and want to meet our expectations.
bro all I want is to know if they are actually still developing it 💀 idc if the game releases in 10 years or smth, I just wanna know if it’s cancelled or not
They can just open beta for players to come. It's not really an official launch and players can experience the fun while giving devs feedback on bugs and errors that they may have not found themselves. It's a win-win so idk why they decided to go radio silent like this.
5 years ago brooooo the first concept teaser was in 2019 -- but it looked like the main story up to Spire 4 was finished by 2021/2022 which is interesting, because you can see DemoCrawler in the 2021 Project Eve State of Play trailer (which if they make a sequel I hope they don't spoil as much as they did in that trailer)
It looks interesting, but Netease gives me pause. The game is also probably just being worked on in silence. Cyberpunk 2077 was teased in 2012, got a trailer in 2013, and then crickets until 2018 and would finally be released in December of 2020. Project Mugen could just have a Cyberpunk 2077 timeline. I hope it doesn’t release catastrophically like Cyberpunk though
I’m just saying let them cook, I know that it takes time to produce a really good, high quality game, they need some time to stand out- I mean everyone is enjoying wuwaves so they need to do better in order to make it big
I'm guessing Project Mugen would have higher system requirements and Covid is no longer a thing so it wouldn't have as wide a reach as Genshin does, so even IF the game is better than Genshin in every aspect, it still won't be as popular, I believe it'll definitely be a successful game but no genshin killer.
It's the NetEase of it all that's the big question here, but I'm tentatively (very) excited for this game. Part of it is just how much I want to see more games in this open world ARPG gacha space that aren't strictly fantasy. The further away from fantasy a game gets, the more I'm interested! As to the time frame, I could see late 2024 _if_ they got started on testing before the end of July, but it doesn't sound like that's where the game is right now. The game is either in dev restructuring or process of getting investors in planning the campaign. 2024 is a really difficult year to release since there are major game releases that won't effectively hype the game and if they force a campaign earlier this year I think it would just be compared to genshin mostly. But if they announce a cbt at the end of the year there is a good chance of a really decent quality of feedback to combat after wuwa release and zzz along with enough developers it can be speculated end of 2025 but tbh that's the ideal outcome
I can imagine a game like this being delayed for many months if not years, it doesn't have an equivalent in terms of pure features that would be a f2p game, some spiderman mechanics, realistically destructible objects, a large dense city and ability to operate machines all that combined with the need to have regular content and online features on top of being a fully action RPG game is just too much to take on when the company is not some well known giant, even Netmarble couldn't release 7DS Origin in the promised window so I can only imagine how difficult something like project Mugen would be to develop
If I had to guess, seeing as same company did the upcoming marvel arena game, they likely got the big contract from marvel and dumped all their resources into it, once it’s launched and going I get the feeling we’ll hear something
Project Mugen is one of those games that looks unique in its genre with its setting. Both it and Azure Promilia look like they add just enough to entice players despite gacha becoming less prominent in the west due to people no longer being at home or wanting content to be locked behind gambling when they're already pressed by one game in today's economy. If they have the correct monetization and gameplay to entice people, then people will be interested in it regardless of the genre being cost prohibitive for most. I enjoy Wuthering Waves, but I might drop it due to the gacha nature since I just can't be assed to spend hundreds of dollars for a chance to get a character I want anymore. Though I still play some games with better ways to earn currency or have good monthly packages like Summoner Wars: Chronicles (like 600+ free pulls a month via events, crafting and logins / 50k free gems per month separately / 2 5 Star selector battle pass), Solo Leveling (60 Banner Pull Battlepass + other free stuff), Astra: Knights of Veda (At least 3-4 pulls worth a day with events / sub models), etc. If a game could have either 100% chance on the first pull for each banner and then 50/50 I might be interested. That or a season pass or whatever that gets you one copy of each new character per version and then the usual 50/50 for copies. Trying to be F2P+ on most things is starting to lose its novelty as now I'm just starting to feel like I'm playing a gimped game that others are enjoying or am just like a second class citizen despite having a subscription. I still play FFXIV and will go back to WoW before I play another gacha with a super predatory system like Genshin.
You know I hope this game comes out before the jjk memes die because judging by how the world looks its probably inspired by shibuya so I'm expecting a lot of "shibuya incident" memes and when the story gets dark we start playing "you are my special" song.

Genshins killer is actually Genshin.
Im now realizing I got ZZZ and mugen confused. Still having fun, but rater have this lol.
shiggy miyamoto quote about a rushed game or whatever
Just let them take their time to optimize the game so theres no idsue
Lmao yall too dramatic 😂
Arknights:Endfield got revealed a few years ago without even a single update for 2 years i think. This game is gonna be fine lol we'll probably see an uodate in like a year
So this is GTA 6
Bruh We Will get gt6 before project Mugen! 💀
@stixxy it will release when you eat some pineapple pizza
never
prob dont wanna end up like wuwa and tof launch
I think due to development disagreements it got canceled. Sad. It had huge action mmo potential. Looked like the gameplay minus the ugly swinging and awful car camera was... actually great.
Its a shame its likely canceled bc genshin impact plays horrible, and so does fortnite. I tried liking both.
Seems like theres a group ruining video games or those making them just don't have high quality gamer passion.
Spidermam+infamous+zzz.
prob coming next year for more info maybe but it does take alot to make a game
Yup! I don't mind waiting!
The "Genshin" name is stupid because Genshin was a Gacha BOTW. This game is Gacha Persona and Yakuza.
TBH, i did forget about this game
Nte seems suspiciously similar
and going to be release this weekk or 2.
