      Hi Don! Thanks! I like the convertible load centers. The main disconnect in the video only cost about $90. That might be well worth it for many homeowners for the convenience of being able to shut down a workshop or something where they have a sub-panel.

      @@SparkyChannel Agreed. Many years ago when MB panels were more prevalent than MLO panels, I could buy a GE MB panel cheaper than a MLO panel...times have changed. I get a better buy on preinstalled 200 amp main breaker panels. If you do a panel change-out and need a 150 amp breaker to match existing SEC, buying a break would be the way to go.

    Can you please make a video about those tandem circuit breakers? What is the code for these now? I'm talking about those circuit breakers designed to fit 2 circuit breakers into 1 opening. They are usually used when the circuit breaker panel is full. But you still need a few more circuits.

    Bill, can you do videos sometime on (1) whether or not it's code to use an interlock for running a generator, and (2) restrictions on the types of connectors that can be used for connecting the ground wires in outlet boxes. Regarding #2, my inspector says that I need to use crimps for the ground wires, but I don't see such a restriction in the code. Thanks!

      Hmmm... I can't really think of any bad ones. Some of the 18V landscaping tools are rather underpowered, but even then, they have a great use for small yards. 18V chain saws are a joke. I like the EGO line best for cordless landscaping tools. Big 56V batteries, good designs. All the recent saws and drills I've used lately are great, can't think of any bad ones. Just use the right tool for the job.

    45 in lbs isn't much torque. I have to wonder how many guys have twisted those studs off or stripped the threads?

    • @SparkyChannel
      @SparkyChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It goes both ways, over-torqued or under-torqued. I think you're right though, there is probably more over-torqueing on a 45 in-lb spec.

    • @rupe53
      @rupe53 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SparkyChannel ... if you think about it, 45 in lbs is 3.75 ft lbs. You can do that with one finger on the typical torque wrench. As a retired vehicle mechanic, I respect that anything in inch pounds is probably critical.... and usually made out of plastic or aluminum. (or secured by same, such as breaker panel parts)

    • @SparkyChannel
      @SparkyChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว
