    Thank you! That was so easy to understand, I’m just a novice who has limited experience. I wanted to change a purse strap that was sewn on the purse and I accomplished it with your video!

    The detachable demo was exactly what I needed to finish a cross-body bag for a friend. Thank you so much!

    That was very helpful. Now I know how to do it so that the ends are always on the outside and I can add strap ends. Thank you!

    Finally, a crystal clear video on how to make an adjustable strap. Thank you, so much, for this video. I tried several others, to finish a messenger bag, and none were clear. Your video, Sara, is brilliant and does a superb demo. Thank you, so much.

    I love your tutorials! Even though I have only made 1-2 items, I always enjoy watching and listening to you to get ideas. I appreciate how well produced your videos are, especially the closeup shots as well as the variety of methods you employ. I wish you continued success in your business and thank you for all the ways you have been of help to me and others. ❤

    Thank you for saving my sons glasses strap, literally the only tutorial I could find that actually looped fabric through without just sewing it.

    Golly, Sarah, are you ever talented!! Thank you for your amazing patterns and videos, sincerely! I just completed your Widget Messenger Bag and my grandson just loves it, whew, I'm thrilled! He is turning 18 and headed for a trip to CO (we are in FL) with a friend and his family. I decided to add your adjustable strap to the bag since he is 6'5". I must add, that when I was making the bag, I just could not understand how it was going to turn out correctly, or that I must have messed up and then just like a fabric fairy (you!) did some magic, boom, the bag is perfect! Thanks ever sew much!!!

    The info about how to thread the strap and attach was very clear, thank you. But nobody ever says how long the strap needs to be cut to make it fit an average adult woman.

  • @AnonymousAmyMakes

    This is a great tutorial however I only have one suggestion. I think it's better when the folded or raw edge near the slider is on the INSIDE of the folded strap and not on the outside of the strap itself. I had always done my straps the way you show until I took a store bought strap apart and realized there is a different way to do it.. Thanks !!

    Thank you for great tutorials Sara! Have you ever made an adjustable strap with a buckle, like a belt. I'm not sure what it is called, perhaps roller pin strap??

    Wondering how long is your strap before sewing to bag?

  • @cathymartin3379

    I've watched this video a few times, and can't figure out when you are adding the swivel clip and then feed the 2nd end of the strap through, you mention that it's the right side, but if you do that, it exposes the wrong side of the strap. The only way i've made this work is to first flip the strap over so the wrong side is facing you, then when you feed the end through, it's the right side up. Other than that, video is great.

    Nice quiet sewing machine. I am looking to make adjustable straps for a project I'm working on, but I wonder what type of cloth material I would need. Would certain materials work better for the adjuster so it doesn't slip? Also when you sewed was it just a normal straight stitch? Thanks

  • @Autumn_Spirit

    Thanks! I had bought purse hardware that doesn't come with any instructions and their website didn't have instructions, either. I was kind of lost. Question: When working with vinyl for bags, is there anything you use to apply to the cut edge to cover it up and seal it? I have notice some of my mass-produced handbags seem to have some sort of paint applied to the cut edges of the straps and trim vinyl.

    Hi Sara I might have missed it but I was wondering what length and width you suggest for both types of straps?

  • @johnawrzosek6127
    @johnawrzosek6127 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you add the strap before or after lining?

    • @bronwyncarr6714
      @bronwyncarr6714 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Lilium laptop strap is attached before you add the lining and the strap tabs on the Tudor bag (for the adjustable strap) are before the lining too.
