    My new to me 718 Boxster GTS has PS4 tires on it, and this car actually feels like my simulated turbo tuned Ruf 3400S that I had in my garage on Playstation 4, except this chassis is way more dynamic. This GTS picks up and goes. The 1st 5.0 that tried to jump me at a light couldn't even read the 718 script on the back, guess the 5.0 got a little too sideways. I doubt a C8 would have that same problem but it's more expensive and too me a little too wide to be a canyon companion. I love this car! We got married last Sunday! My past cars: 1985 911 coupe, 1991 911 C2 Coupe, 2006 Cayman S. Current car 2018 718 Boxster GTS.

    The fact that this is only 2 seconds slower than the GT4 just shows how great that turbo charged flat 4 is. It’s a shame that they gave up on it cause Porsche fans hated on it so much. It’s quicker and a better car than the flat 6 in every way possible.

      Yeah I assumed he was just saying he was getting solid balanced grip from all 4 wheels.. Obviously it was just mistaken speech but I guess that shows how little MT cares about their free content lol

    Bizarre hearing that diverter valve type sound on a Cayman! Car looks and drives well.

    This is not a good representation of how the 718GTS sounds!
    There is never any waste-gate sound when closing the throttle. I guess they cheated with mic positioning, or mixing in the studio to achieve that effect. So the engine is way too quiet, with enhanced turbo noises. No idea why they’d be doing that?
    I’m not saying it’s the best sound, but I don’t hate it. After 10,000 miles I’d say it’s characterful, but not a standout feature, like on my previous 981GTS.

      You're technically referring to the bov/dv. Wastegate is to bleed exhaust pressure so boost doesn't increase further.

    • @DontPanicDear
      @DontPanicDear 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, you’re correct Ray.
      It’s not audible on my manual GTS, or loan 718 models I’ve been lent on road, or track.

    Super fast but sound is extra boring and artificial... :-( Porsche should achieve more in sound area. Porsche there should be no substitute. Sticking with the old 6 cyl Cayman even if 2x slower ;-).

    Intelligent tire marketing lol most of us know what tires specifically most of these cars use but people who don’t will probably take the bait lol (not that they’re bad but they’re $300 tires

    It Sounds Absolutely Awful S**tl!!! And always has and Porsche seems unable to fix it. Like torque and don't like revs hein? Buy a turbo diesel - the medical equivalent of premature ejaculation. Porsche: excellent PR job to get these guys to state the engine sounds great!. A Whole Lotta Rubbish it does.
