Resident Evil 7: Biohazard[a] is a 2017 survival horror game developed and published by Capcom. The player controls Ethan Winters as he searches for his long-missing wife in a derelict plantation occupied by an infected family, solving puzzles and fighting enemies. Resident Evil 7 diverges from the more action-oriented Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6, returning to the franchise's survival horror roots, emphasizing exploration. It is the first main Resident Evil game to use a first-person view.
Resident Evil 7 is the first full-length game to use Capcom's in-house RE Engine. The development was led by Koshi Nakanishi, director of the 2012 Nintendo 3DS game Resident Evil: Revelations. A year prior to its announcement at E3 2016, it was presented as a virtual reality demo called Kitchen. The team took inspiration from the 1981 film The Evil Dead, scaled back the game to one location, and used a first-person perspective to immerse players. Two downloadable content scenarios were released, Not a Hero and End of Zoe.
Resident Evil 7 was released in January 2017 for Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, followed by a cloud version for the Nintendo Switch in May 2018 in Japan, and PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions in June 2022. It also supports the PlayStation VR headset. The game received generally favorable reviews and was considered a return to form for the series; critics praised the gameplay, innovation, and uses of virtual reality, but the boss battles and final chapter drew some criticism. As of December 2021, the game has sold 10.6 million copies worldwide. It was nominated for several end-of-year accolades. A sequel, Resident Evil Village, was released on May 7, 2021.

What you call Zombies from the original 90's trilogy were just the T-Virus infected from bioweapon development from Umbrella.
RE4 infected aren't zombies neither, they are the Plagas, Plagas are G-Virus.
RE7 is an unspecified variant, i think sometimes in the game they call them A-Type and D-Type , but it all steems from Eve , "E001" , so i personally like to refer to them as "E-Virus" , the bioweapons that Umbrella developed from her genes are different to the bioweapons from Wesker's genes and Sherri's genes.
The molded of RE7 do resemble the lickers in some instances though, some of them are far deadlier than most boss battles.
Resident evil is one of the most horror games that deliver different feelings and reactions among other games and I am playing resident evil since PS1 till today with PS4 pro
I remember in the 90’s my cousin playing the first resident evil on ps1 scared me as a kid. The game has evolved so much since then!
It actually hasn't evolved at all. It's the same interface, same guns, game gameplay, and in some cases, it looks like they're skinning older monsters. Of course, it's Resident Evil so that's not all bad, but you'd think with all the money they've made from this game, they'd do a true next-gen game. But then that would mean fewer vacation homes for executives.

I like walkthroughs where the player actually plays the game first before uploading on TH-cam unlike other channels.
Especially those channels that can’t aim or 6 hours long videos of back tracking because they don’t know what to do or know where to go next.

You should play RE 8 next (assuming you haven't already). It's not quite as scary (some bits are though), but still a great game.

Honestly I like the new look for 1st person. I had a good time with 7 and 8. I hope 9 gives you the option to play both 3rd person and 1st person.

Yeah, sadly. I couldn't believe how short the game wound up being after my first playthrough - and I did not rush through by any means. Wish we could have spent more time soaking up the atmosphere of the Baker estate and getting to know the family a bit more.
Especially with the whole 1st hour being essentially an interactive movie.

First person perspective was more appreciate enjoying on computer with high resolution screen. It always caused dizzy after more than 1 hour. Is it possible upgrade game engine or graphic processing technology in order to solve the case.
Cap your FPS to maintain consistent frames, keep motion blur on, Turn off headbobble, increase FOV. The game makes us look around too much while other fps games are always focused on far away objects so yeah, it's easy to feel motion sickness.

Are the PS5 versions of RE2, RE3, and RE7 all just digital only or will there be physical copies of those games too on the PS5 just like with the PS4? I was just wondering about that myself since I just thought of asking.

RE7 is a great game. I played through it twice over 3 years.
The combat is kinda lame and basic, it kinda works for basic shoot outs in corridors for slow moving zombies, but on some of the boss fights or intermediate boss fights, it would be nice to have something a little more advanced.
But the graphics, atmosphere, story are all really nice and keep you wanting to play.
I would advise looking at a play through video 2-3 times over the course of play so you don't get stuck for hours or days just missing something really obscure because the story development is more fun than driving yourself mad trying to figure out a puzzle that's shall we say, quite obscure. Some of the things in the game are still amazing by todays standards, the boss fight with the car etc.

Interesting, except the walk through went by so fast I never could read anything and couldn't read anything. So I was always confused. I quit watching about 1hr 45 minutes into it.

I played that on PC, because a budy of mine told me I wouldn't regret it. Well, I did. Money wasted. Like you said, it's not scary. Second, the mouse implementation is horrible. The developer probably knows nothing about how a mouse works. The smoothing and acceleration is just unbearable. Third, it doesn't look as good as advertised. Some blurry textures and the quality is a 7/10. I don't really care about graphics but it's just OKish. That's not a problem, anyway. More problems: camera is very bad, and it is attached to the back of the character. The field of view is very small. I guess in the 60s. The story was just OKish, but again, nothing to wonder about. The gameplay was good, but ruined by the mouse controls. So it was my first and my last Resident Evil purchase. No more console ports. They are just mediocre. And looking at this one, it looks the same but with a watch and first person.
I enjoyed RE 7 way more than RE 8

I just beat this game for this first time on PC with Ray Tracing enabled. Omg some areas in the house, especially hallways looked way to realistic !
