This version of Wall-E, while really cool, wouldn't stand a chance when faced with hundreds of destructive kids a day. He would be unusable within a matter of days. The amount of work needed to create a Wall-E animatronic that was resilient enough to handle being used daily, but light enough to be safe around little toes, well the popularity of Wall-E wasnt enough to warrant the budget needed. The majority of fans are people that grew up with Wall-E, all people that are grown up. Disney aims its budget at things that will appeal to young childeren, like Frozen, and the Muppets. Things that are still making money, which sadly doesnt include Wall-E.

Just like with R2's, there's only so much you can automate safely. One wrong reflection or errant sensor reading, and you've got a 100lb. robot running over some kid's foot with open-toed shoes.
