Oleksandr Usyk defeated Tyson Fury by split decision to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world, the first since Lennox Lewis.
Fury was on the brink of being stopped in the ninth round as he received a standing count and Usyk added the WBC title to his WBA, IBF and WBO belts after earning victory with scores of 115-112, 113-114, 114-113 in Saudi Arabia.

They are all bums in this division. They wouldn’t lace Vitalis boots
He’s up there. You can’t deny it. That resume is unbelievable.
Yes, but he hasn't defended his undisputed title. You can't rank him as high as Holyfield or Frazier or Holmes or Ali who defended their undisputed titles against better competition than wobbly Fury.
@@johnsonanum I did say up there. I’m not saying he is number one, I agree you have to defend those titles. But he’s definitely the best of this generation for sure. And top 10 of all time imo. Easy to Slate fury also, but a lot of those names would struggle with fury pal.
@@astradala1845 Yes, he is arguably the best of his generation. But keep in mind that this generation spends too much time avoiding each other and Usyk has only fought 5 heavyweights (4 of them from one country).
@@johnsonanum For sure, but I would not say Uysk has avoided anybody ever, I think he is the one heavyweight who has gone for the big fights. The others talk and talk but never fight, like you said. I mean how long have we waited for Fury Vs AJ.
@@astradala1845 Perhaps Usyk fought those guys because they were the champions and he was the underdog of the division. I'll believe you if, now he's the champion, he takes on hungry younger fighters like Joseph Parker, Filip Hrgovic and Agit Kabayel.
Lomachenko, Usyk, GGG these guys had over 320+ Amature fights each.

Professional fights are the measure of a great boxer. Beating up taxi drivers and receptionists in amateur fights doesn't count. Sugar Ray Robinson isn't the greatest PFP boxer because of his 85 amateur fights, but because of his 201 professional fights against many excellent fighters.

Very humble champion, & undisputed gentleman. IMO, he is the GOAT! but absolutely one of the best of all time! 👑
Very impressive
Don’t think this record will ever be broken
If you didn't think he was special before the Bellew fight, i don't know what to tell you.
I’m only 28 but he’s the best I’ve ever seen. I can’t think of another boxer in the modern era that could overcome a 40lb weight difference. There’s weight categories for a reason and I get that it gets a bit different as the weights go up, but his CV is remarkable
He hasn’t fought anyone Ali fought great fighters
@@David-be7jn😂😂😂
Usyk is at least in the GOAT conversation, but in my book he is the GOAT
If Usyk is the best ever is arguable because there are a lot of factors to consider, but he is definitely the best ever in terms of achievements. He is Olympic gold medalist, amateur champion, undisputed cruserweight and heavyweight champion and still undefeated.
Ali won a gold medal as a TEENAGED light heavyweight! Then he became heavyweight champ at 22! Then he beat every great heavyweight in THREE different eras over 15 years and this was after being banned from boxing for 3 years in his prime!
Bottom line is that usyk is a great fighter but even his accomplishments pale in comparison to Ali!
National champ, european champ, world champ, 320+ amature fights, Muhammad Ali Trophy. Completely dominated cruiser weight division and moved up in weight division. Faced arguably two of the best Heavyweights in this era and won against both of them.
He lost a few in amateurs bro

Can you imagine the adulation & superlatives that would be flowing had Usyk been a smooth talking Brit? He would have been spoken of as the sportsman of the millennium. He absolutely has to be in the discussion for GOAT.
Exactly. British boxers are 50% hype, 30% talent and 20% ducking other boxers in their prime.

Fury outboxed Usyk most the fight, apart from round 9 Usyk didn't do much.
Undisputed in cruiser and now heavy and undefeated I’m sorry but he has to been seen as the greatest of all time.. I no it’s hard to look at the past and compare but the greatness is real
Holyfield did the same.
You’re not serious 😂 he’s not the first to do that. Secondly the competition he beat isn’t all that. The only all time great he beat was arguably fury. And even then is fury an all time great? There are guys like Inoue who has done the same thing ln 3 weight classes

Usyk is one of the best ever without a doubt.
If he could also successfully defend his title against Hrgovic, Parker, Zhang, Wilder or Kabayel. Itd be hard not to consider him the goat.
Comparing athletes across generations is tough, and we should factor in how they compared to their peers at the time. Even so, prime 1960s Ali was untouchable in more ways than one - unbeatable and virtually unhittable with superhuman reflexes. He was freakishly exceptional, gifted with natural talent. Just imagine Ali with today's nutrition and training. Scary. I'd say he's cemented as the GOAT.
Meanwhile, Usyk will certainly go down as one of the GOATs.

I’d say probably one of the top 3 heavyweights of all time imo, can’t rank him below the top 5. In terms of greatest boxers of all time, that one is harder to break through, too many legendary fighters in history, certain in that he isn’t number 1 but could break top 10, which is nothing to be scoffed at.
Could break top 10? You're having a laugh. No one has achieved what he achieved and we dont know when somoen will. Holyfield was undesputed not in the 4 belt era. Usyk has beat everyone on away soil, won the muhammed ali trophy, olympic gold medal, european champ, and hes fought agaisnt monsters who are all way taller, heavier, and higher reach. Ali fought agaisnt people hen was taller than. Usyk doesnt get the credit he deserves
@@rediii9239 Top 10 boxers of all time? I think it’s possible he’s broken into that, but are you insane saying there’s no doubt? Have you seen some of the names that there are on this list? Forget amateurs, many fighters won Olympic gold etc. it means nothing, we’re talking about pro boxing, although we can name people like Ray Robinson who went 84-0 with 69 KO in amateurs and as a pro was undisputed in 2 divisions multiple times having gone on an 89 fight win streak. Or Ali who beat multiple generations of legendary fighters during the golden age of heavyweight boxing, including peak Foreman who even 20 years later became world champion. Or Joe Louis who had 26 defences of his world title. Or Pacquiao who won titles in 8 divisions, or Mayweather who beat the who’s who in a good age of lightweight and welterweight boxing. Or Henry Armstrong who held 3 of 8 glamour division world titles at one time and went 27-0 in 1 year with 26 KOs. Or Roberto Duran who was a career lightweight and won titles as high as light heavyweight.
And there are many other legendary achievements in the history of boxing.
Usyk is a great fighter and I’m being generous when I say he could break in with these guys, because some of the achievements of these guys are other worldly.
And discrediting Ali in poor taste when it’s long been said this era has an overrated set of heavyweights. The only legit heavyweights Usyk fought taller than him are AJ and Fury, unless we’re also counting the legendary Dubois.
He’s nowhere near any conversation of one of the greatest😂😂😂 his pro career hasn’t got the depth to even think this!!! He’s only had 20odd fights!!!!!You do realise fury lost to an mma fighter mind and now your all going crazy cause usyk beat him
Usyk is one of the greatest of all time! And Usyk won very convincingly! So send the memo to any delusional fools Usyk clearly won and is certainly one of the greatest of all time!!!
Yes....yes he is!
Usyk is now a top 5 boxer of all time.
usyk to be pro trainer in the future . and to be talked about like gus damato
He is definitely in the discussion but imho he isn’t in the top five. Ali, Sugar Ray Robinson, Roberto Duran, Joe Louis and Henry Armstrong will NEVER be dethroned. They were rarified specimens of the sport.
The rematch will be highly anticipated. Tyson Fury is a smart fighter and he will be back much better.
As long as Fury don't call himself the greatest I'm good!
What a humbler for the big mouthed Fury fans.
You guys please keep silent abeg 😂😂😂
I think hes deffo put himself in the conversation
Yep hes a GOAT
Yes he is (of this era only, he's not moving Ali or either Lewis). I'm a massive, massive Fury fan but the truth is the truth. Fury imo, had the chance to take his spirit. He had him hurt at times but seemed to hesitate after key body shots. The clowning around, goading, showing off at times, not wise from Fury. It was too close at times but ultimately it comes down to woulda, shoulda, coulda. Fury had chances to win this but Usyk's technique and IQ can't be ignored. Simple as that. It should have been stopped in round 9, Fury has amazing recovery skills but if the ref doesn't intervene he goes out on his back.
Cleared entire heavyweight devision in 6 fights!

He beat bigger heavier opponents and beat opponents in their back yard guys a winner 22 fights thats crazy 😊
Usyk is very special and the best of his generation but to say he's the best ever, I'd have to disagree. I think Lewis, Ali, Tyson fought much tougher era's.
Madness
Usyk is, just like Fury, one of the all time greats, but but no means, just like Fury isn't, the greatest of all time. To be be that you have to rule for many years and beat top opposition.

@@jasonallatt5410 not true but fighters now avoid each other a lot more to stay undefeated and fight no bodies for the cash and hype. Why has aj not had a fight with fury?
If anything Uysk would of found it easier. The boxers of today are huge.
@kb4903 The sport has simply changed. But then, so has the world. Footballers are now billionaires, boxers can earn more than 100mill per fight, and the size of organisation between each event is colossal.. That's no fault of the fighters and doesn't take away from their ability. You'd need some special rose tinted goggles to suggest that a Rocky Marciano, Jack Dempsey, or Joe Louis wouldn't struggle in today's Cruiserweight division, let alone modern HW, where your average fighter is 6ft 4+, 240+ pounds, has access to world class training and nutrition.... Times change. To repeat one of the comments above... we are fortunate enough to live through a golden era.

Not even close. If fury went & won 100 AMATEUR fights that wouldnt make him the goat.
For Usyk's professional career, again not even close. His last 3 opponents were good yes in Fury, dubois & Aj but thats as far as it goes in terms of real pedigree (No i dont inc you Chisora).
The rest were just tin cans.
Im not saying that being undefeated isnt impressive but the top 2 weight classes of voxing have had but s handful of true superstars for the last 20yrs & even then, they spend yrs ducking each other.
I KNOW that anyone over the age of 30 would be able to pick a minimum of 5-10 boxers better than Usyk.

Usyk and sugar ray Robinson are the goats
No. Argument for top 10 but his level of competition has been too low historically speaking to rank him higher. Perhaps just behind Holyfield.
If he beats tyson in the rematch i think he is.....
Of course not. Usyk is obviously a fantastic boxer and arguably the best of his era but Ali is still the GOAT in my opinion. If Fury wins the rematch and they have a 3rd match, whoever wins that one is the best of this era and will maybe go down in history as one of the best of all time.
Usyk is no joke
