I have this phone and it’s solid, the only thing I don’t like is that it’s locked to 90hz due to all of those screen issues this device was having, so no you can no longer adjust it down to 60hz. BUT, they do allow you to turn off motion in settings which does help so you don’t feel “dizzy” while using the device. It’s a great device in 2022 and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anybody.

I would buy this phone over an iPhone and definitely over any Samsung without hesitation. I've noticed Samsung and Apple tend to pay reviewers quite nicely and thus is why their problems get swept under the rug.
My main concern with this handset is the only 2 years of promised support and updates when many companies are promising 3 years (or more) at this juncture. Couple that with Moto's history of being slow to address problems doesn't have me running to this device. And the curved screen is concerning, though it looks like they do have the edge (no pun intended) on the competition at mitigating waterfall edge issues. The camera, surprisingly, seems to hold its own against the fray (the iPhone 11 and Pixels withstanding). Definitely does tend to blow out backgrounds a bit (esp sky shots) and the white balance is awful, but I can find just as many issues with the Galaxies, OnePlus 8s, and LG Vs of the world. Problem is that a side loaded GCam app optimized for Moto may be hard to find (hell, even LG-stable versions fell to the wayside). All that said, it looks like they went a bit cheap on the panel. Having a V30 currently with the "grainy" subpar panel, I don't care to get, in essence, the same quality screen. I'm definitely going to go to a store at some point to check this one out before picking it up.

I think this is my favorite android phone at the moment for the price! I also checked out the S21 but at 250$ it's still to expensive and while the cameras are a bit nicer on the s21, the 6k on the Moto Edge is No Joke! 6k looks as good as the s21 and everything under 6k just looks bad in my opinion, way too sharp and grainy . Stay far away from this phone folks. I'm on my third replacement which has blooming and bleeding issues everywhere on the phone. Even the lettering there's a double vision sort of thing going on with purple behind the black lettering. Motorola used to make great phones like the Motorola Droid turbo 2. And lately they've been 0-2 in their flagship models. First a razor fold comes out screwed up and then the Motorola edge plus is having screen issues. I will be getting my fourth phone this next Tuesday and I'll leave you an update and how it does in two weeks. I can almost surely bet there will be purple blooming and bleeding issues on that one too. My Droid turbo 2 never had any of these issues. My first phone the Timeport 7382i phone was awesome. Motorola can you please come up with a Droid turbo 3 with all today's specs 120 HZ screen 865 chip etc. Please. You really need to get back to making phones right instead of pushing it fast out the door.
The real issue here is that it's supposed to be a 5G networking phone with Verizon. Not once did my Edge Plus connect or show the 5G Icon and speed test proved at only 5.0 MBPS while my son's Iphone 11 with 5G displayed over 30.0 MBPS. Not once did I receive 5G with Verizon's Play More plan. In fact, the signal strength bars rarely hit the 3 bar mark instead it remained on only one or two bars at most. As you said, I too loved the phone display, and the camera and other equipment was ok with me, not the best but ok, but I cannot believe Verizon tells everyone they have 5G, when they do not. I live in Zion Illinois and Verizon's coverage map is all over the place, still no 5G anywhere in sight. Verizon is the worse for coverage. At the same time I tested this, I also had my Zmax Pro with me, and although it's only a 4G phone, It always has 4 to 5 bars with Tmobile. I am sending this piece of crap Edge back. And I am canceling my Verizon contract before I am screwed as I just got it yesterday. The issues are both Motorola and Verizon. If the phone is capable of 5G, then I should see it on my phone. At the same time, Verizon's coverage is Way Overly Exaggerated. BEWARE! DO not buy this phone unless its used and unlocked as motorola only has Verizon to offer.
Props to Moto for finally making a proper flagship with killer specs... its about time. To be honest though, the phone is great except for its namesake... that edge display is outdated. Other phone makers ditched it a year ago. Also: Verizon exclusive... sigh... thats a nope for alot of us. :(
Worst review. You brutally bash it. That sound coming from the phone when you shake it is normal..other phones have it too. Why not try to shake your phone? 😂
Haha..this is what unpaid reviews look like! The Moto flagship is one hell of a device! Trust me! I have it and I couldn’t be happier! Way better than the S20 Ultra! A better camera..a better build quality..loud speakers..great battery (minus the charging capability)! The only thing I dislike about it is the edge display (which you’ll get used to!) Also there’s no major difference in display! The 1080p with 90 hz refresh is a delight!
I think your final comment was perfect. It's not perfect but it's fascinating. I am happy with it so far. Having issues with the screen protector and how it effects sensitivity. Overall though camera is spot on. Better than the one plus 8 pro I was using for sure. Plus it came with a large update right out of the box so let's see how that effects it.
I've used only Motorola phones for almost 20 years w Verizon. I have the Moto z3 now for almost two years. I wanted to get this Edge phone this month. Now I'm not too sure. Does it offer wireless charging? Can you still take a screen shot pressing 3 fingers on screen? Can you still press anywhere on screen to take a picture? How does a case work with this phone? And a screen protector? Thank you for the review.
If you're not getting performance right at that price, then it's bad. Performance on flagships is not really an advantage over each other, they're all fast.
This video missed the worst thing. The OLED screen started showing purple spots and stains after 2 weeks of heavy use. DO NOT buy this phone. Owners of the phone started complaining about this in June 2020. Now it is May 2021 and it still isn't fixed. It is related to heat and tends to get worse (other problems in the future such as image retention and a part of the screen turning green). Motorola has known about this issue since at least June 2020, they have no solution to offer, and they are still selling the thing!
I have an S10 plus with edgeless display and it's pretty obsolete thanks to the phone case... It makes screen protection limited too... I like the idea of shoulder buttons on the Motorola, the specs are good... I'm not a paid, professional photographer, so I probably won't even tell the difference between cameras... ⭐Thanks to this review, I am still on the fence...🤗 It's got a headphone jack, but I rarely use that any more... Somebody push me off the fence, please...😅
$1400 Samsung Ultra also rattles, sounds like ur pretty biased and just wanna complain about stuff that doesn't matter. If Samsung was still making curve screens no one would be making a big deal about it.
I would've bought the edge+ but Motorola didn't add the pop up selfie cam like on their Motorola One Fusion+ so instead I settled for the One Plus 7t pro 5g McLaren Edition.
People just don't know how to look at photos anymore. I assume the picture of the car wash was meant to show that the iPhone 11 is "better"? Anyone who's spent time with Stephen Shore would disagree. Which photo is more interesting? Computational photography creates a uniform blandness that makes me weep. Oh the humanity!
I still think the z2 force is best phone ever made. Once you have Moto display, shatter shield, thinnest phone. Also, the Moto z line is the Swiss army knife of cell phone. The z2 force is the best Android phone ever made.
I really don't get the downside of not having an IP rating. If it has one, it's totally legit waterrestant and blabla, but you have to pay for this rating. The manufacturer has to pay for this rating. They will charge you for it. But many many of the non IP rated phones are also tested and deliver mostly the same results. Almost everyphone is waterresistant and you'll have to make quite a few tricks to experience where it is in fact non-waterresistance. But tell me, do you really hold your phone with the bottom up in the rain? Also....drop a non water resist phone in a bucket of water, take it out, shut it down and let it dry and after a while, see how much the non ip rating affects you, besides the wait time
Not being water resistant is a deal breaker for me. If I drop my phone in the water it should still work , especially a 1000.00 phone. 🚣♀️🚣♀️🏄♂️🤽♂️🛀🐠🏖🏝🏞⚓💧🌊🌧🌀⛈
The s20 ultra also makes that sound when you shake it.... I don't know why anybody says nothing.......... So thats normal in that sensor because is huge...........
9:24 The rattling was there in some of the versions of the Moto Z series phones as well And Motorola was never known for good or great cameras, good to see that Lenova is carrying forward the tradition
Weird review. I might be a little late to the party but I'm a non plus 2020 Motorola Edge owner and the stereo speakers are freaking amazing. iPhone 13 has a much deeper bass but other than that they are louder and the clarity of sound is amazing. Also, he talked so much about the edges and immersion. You literally turn the edges of on TH-cam and some other aps, it stays like that forever and that's it. They look freaking amazing and most of the time they do an amazing job. I also like the more realistic (not soft upgraded) photos, but that's my opinion. I don't agree with some of the stuff this guy's saying, but technically speaking he's reviewing a slightly (barely) different phone, but it's supposed to be a BETTER version of the basic Edge, so I'm confused with this review...

Don’t stress it man,it’s just a phone
Props to Moto for finally making a proper flagship with killer specs... its about time.
To be honest though, the phone is great except for its namesake... that edge display is outdated. Other phone makers ditched it a year ago.
Also: Verizon exclusive... sigh... thats a nope for alot of us. :(
I only chose Moto for Android and iPhone for ios, so I am very excited
Who else would you choose for iOS lol
Worst review. You brutally bash it. That sound coming from the phone when you shake it is normal..other phones have it too. Why not try to shake your phone? 😂
Exactly the S20 has it too
That 108mp sensor rattles on the S20 Ultra to , it's not Motorola
Very biased negative review
True.. this is more like a rant than a review.
Haha..this is what unpaid reviews look like!
The Moto flagship is one hell of a device! Trust me! I have it and I couldn’t be happier! Way better than the S20 Ultra! A better camera..a better build quality..loud speakers..great battery (minus the charging capability)! The only thing I dislike about it is the edge display (which you’ll get used to!)
Also there’s no major difference in display!
Do you still have it? If so how do you feel about it now in 2022?
I've used only Motorola phones for almost 20 years w Verizon. I have the Moto z3 now for almost two years. I wanted to get this Edge phone this month. Now I'm not too sure. Does it offer wireless charging? Can you still take a screen shot pressing 3 fingers on screen? Can you still press anywhere on screen to take a picture? How does a case work with this phone? And a screen protector? Thank you for the review.
all of those questions, yes
If you're not getting performance right at that price, then it's bad. Performance on flagships is not really an advantage over each other, they're all fast.
Where'd you get that wallpaper from ?
Compare moto edge plus vs oneplus 8 pro. Please
I want a new phone for my mom. She usually listens to music and uses it to makes calls. I don’t know if this a good phone?
Anyone here sees Hauwei in a few phones that coming out this year. That edge is reminiscent of the Hauwei P30 pro? Similar set up.
What is the wallpaper that you are rocking in this video?
Ha! Funny. I end up loving the phone despite his negative review. For one its not Apple or Samsung and it has a headphone jack.
hows the charging times?
$1400 Samsung Ultra also rattles, sounds like ur pretty biased and just wanna complain about stuff that doesn't matter. If Samsung was still making curve screens no one would be making a big deal about it.
Motorola probably didn't sponsor this review so...
I would've bought the edge+ but Motorola didn't add the pop up selfie cam like on their Motorola One Fusion+ so instead I settled for the One Plus 7t pro 5g McLaren Edition.
Only reason I'm looking at it is because the finance price from my carrier 1/3 the price of any other phone in it's tier
I would love to ask where can I buy one of these, its hard to fin one in my country,... By th way im from the Philippines
Ahhhhhh! My Edge Plus Screen is acting up outta the blue :'(
Should I go for this or the OnePlus 8 Pro? How long is Motorola's software support?
I'm glad people are finally defending Motorola!
what camera did u use to shot this video Bro?..🙏🏾
I still think the z2 force is best phone ever made. Once you have Moto display, shatter shield, thinnest phone. Also, the Moto z line is the Swiss army knife of cell phone. The z2 force is the best Android phone ever made.
My favorite phone
I'm stilling rocking the force droid. Trying to decide on a new phone as this thing is 4 years old something like that.
I liked it when you said that you need to go out there and feel this phone in your hand, to know how a big a bother this curved screen is for you.
Also....drop a non water resist phone in a bucket of water, take it out, shut it down and let it dry and after a while, see how much the non ip rating affects you, besides the wait time
I've heard motorola edge is having problems with Netflix and playing in HD.
Not being water resistant is a deal breaker for me. If I drop my phone in the water it should still work , especially a 1000.00 phone. 🚣♀️🚣♀️🏄♂️🤽♂️🛀🐠🏖🏝🏞⚓💧🌊🌧🌀⛈
Bingo !
😒all phone manufacturers say ip rated but don’t be the ass hole drip water in the phone cause if it gets water damage is not on the warranty
maybe don't take your phone in the tub/pool/shower/toilet/rain/hurricane..
Are you Aquaman?
@@Jmememomo hahahah your funny
The s20 ultra also makes that sound when you shake it.... I don't know why anybody says nothing.......... So thats normal in that sensor because is huge...........
Why you no mention the phone has a headühone jack
Moto makes nice sturdy and reliable phones. Which most of the companies doesn't make nowadays.
Why would they lock it with verizon? They're expensive
9:24 The rattling was there in some of the versions of the Moto Z series phones as well
And Motorola was never known for good or great cameras, good to see that Lenova is carrying forward the tradition
