Bought one about 5 days ago. I'm 72 and don't know much about phones. I was replacing a very old Moto Turbo 2 so big difference. Things I like as a novice .... great battery life .... took it off the charger this morning and used it sparingly (normal for me) but now at 1 am, going to bed and it's still at 70%. After adjusting the text size up I find the resolution and contrast of the screen to make reading text much easier than the Turbo 2. Viewing anything on the screen is easier. The speakers are significantly louder and clearer in speaker phone mode. TH-cam videos are much more vibrant. Macro lens is amazing. Things I'm not crazy about .... it's hard to balance the phone in my Dji Osmo Mobile 3 gimbal due to the length/width ratio. Also, the zoom feature on the Osmo doesn't work on the phone in the App. It's an issue with the App, but an issue none the less. It worked fine with the Turbo 2 :-)

Motorola devices sell across all carriers in all countries. Why they don't sell their high end products direct is beyond me. Direct, the Edge+ is able to be sold for the same price as OnePlus does their 8 (their 8 Pro is over 1500 dollars in Canada) and at that price, they would have the advantage in value for money and carrier access as they all do carry Motorola product. Most of the best Chinese deals arrive in Canada, absent warranty and carrier network access in spite of their compatibility. Rebadged as Motorola, something like the Pocophone F2 Pro would sell out on day one across carriers here so why they don't is a mystery to me.

It’s a solid phone. Nice to see these manufacturers are finally doing good with their phones. Now I’m very eager to wait for Xperia 1 II.
I think the camera software needs tuning on this phone though, the colour looks so overly cool in some of those shots.

  • @mikldude9376

This tall and super narrow trend is bloody annoying , the curved edges thing too :( ( make it stop ! ),
Good to see a headphone jack , the photos between the galaxy and moto , to my eye , the galaxy pics in the daytime generally looked a tad sharper , and not as dreary and dark looking with crushed shadows .
But i guess the galaxy has had more time to get rid of its bugs with updates ...... how is that auto focus issue going ?
i would probably give one these a shot if we ever saw them in oooorstraya , i wont hold my breath though , we dont see much moto stuff on the shelves here , and almost never see moto flagships even when they used to make them earlier ..

UltraCVM on the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 pushed it beyond anything i thought a camera could be on a phone. I wonder if the Edge + could benefit from the same treatment.. Though, out of the box it looked like moto and oneplus had the optical advantage.

Oh how many times have I replaced my phone? Glad you asked. Going on my FOURTH replacement. Four. A $1,000 phone. It's not a random issue and has happened to many people.
