I am so pumped for this! Finally a franchise willing to take big risks and move the story ahead, change the characters and not just keep hitting a reset button to keep the status quo. Major kudos to everyone involved and I haven't even watched it yet.
I’m so hyped for this movie! Tho it seems some apes have learned nothing from the humans and are beginning to act just like they did after becoming the dominant species. I always admired how Caesar never wanted to kill the humans in this trilogy, rather just break free from their rule. I never saw it as him being weak, but as Caesar actually being the bigger individual. Caesar was a great leader because he kept his eye on the actual goal, which was for his kind to be free from human rule. He only killed when it was absolutely necessary and he always did his best to not make things personal. In Dawn of the Planet of the Apes when Caesar and the other apes rencountered the humans he even tried to make peace with them rather than go to war, because he knew how devastating war could be for both the humans and the apes. A wise leader always searches for peace if it is possible rather than solve problems through violence. Caesar didn’t force the other apes to hate the human race, he didn’t ask them to kill every single one of them (like Koba), he just thought about what was best for his kind. Caesar knew in order to be a higher species you must be better than the ones who abused you. Hopefully this knew character (who I believe is named Noa) will take after him and follow in his footsteps.
Yeah that is Cornelius the one who survived and I have to say he looks like he is getting a little older as we see with whole fur growing around his face like we see in with his father in war. He looks more like his mom than his father.
It's not the Composers, it's the industry telling Composers that's the way they have to compose. Composers want to break out of the stereotype and know it makes sense, but the supervisors won't use it if it doesn't fit the mould.
I’m so hyped for this! Seeing the aftermath of when Apes have taken over the planet. The irony is that it seems now humans have become like the ape’s life stock just like the Colonel said would happen in the third movie. It’s also a throwback to the original movie from 1968.

cornelius is just like caesar in so many ways he has caesars strong natural love for humans and i think this will cause a war between the two tribes as i think the new tribe are the ones that were chasing after those humans, however it turns out im really looking forward to the continuation of this franchise and really hope we get to see corneliuses upbringing and see rocket maurice bad ape and nova looking after him and teaching him about how great an ape caesar was, i will say it does look like caesars tribe from wftpota has reduced significantly in numbers and have most likely moved to this new tribe with this new unknown leader, im glad caesars legacy is continuing in cornelius
And the last humans probably had their voice boxes damaged by the disease mutation and are thus unable to teach the next generation how to talk, so humanity probably has to use sign language.
The RISE-DAWN-WAR-KINGDOM series is not and cannot be a direct 'prequel' to the '68 original with Charlton Heston, because even if we were to ignore BENEATH-thru-BATTLE the fact remains that there was a NUCLEAR WAR involved in the destruction of human civilization soon after Taylor's ship left Earth, and the newer reboot films specifically avoided having any such calamity in its scenario. "The Forbidden Zone was once a Paradise! Your breed made a desert of it, ages ago," says Zaius, justifying the fear and hatred he has always felt about Humans -- because he, as the "Guardian of the Terrible Secret," knows that it wasn't "a storm of meteors" which created the lifeless Forbidden Zone. He knows that Man waged a war that was so devastating that it rendered much of it uninhabitable. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed these reboot APES movies, and I like them for what they are: a REBOOT of the basic concept . . . but without the Nuclear War aspect. The 'rise' of the Apes -- and the downfall of the Humans -- in this reboot series is due NOT to an intrinsic flaw in the human psyche, which Zaius crows about in the final scenes he shares with Taylor, but it's all due to the good intentions of the James Franco character in RISE paving the road to hell. He tried to cure Alzheimer's -- surely a noble goal -- and shoddy lab procedures from the corporation funding his work led to the infected lab-animals (all Apes) spreading the altered brain/mind-altering ALZ drug throughout the entire planet. It's a far cry from the idea that Man's civilization gets wiped out because rival nations waged an all-out Nuclear War . . . with the Apes not only mimicking ("aping") Humans, but with some throughout later Simian Future History remembering that Man had done so, and thus deserved to be feared and hated by Apes in general, so much so that "the greatest ape of all, our Lawgiver" wrote a new 'scripture' which depicted Man as "the Beast . . the Devil's Pawn . . . the Harbinger of Death" who murders his own brother, etc. Apes like Koba, in the trilogy, have personal reasons to despise Humans, due to the horrors inflicted upon them by Humans in the labs, when they were test animals. But the decay of Human-made cities seen in DAWN and WAR are a far cry from the radioactive wasteland depicted in PLANET and BENEATH. RISE and the rest are decent reboot movies in this 'franchise', but despite the homages to the classic original PLANET OF THE APES, they aren't and cannot be direct 'prequels' to it.
Now THIS looks like a proper way to make a saga. 😎👍🏻 The prior 3 movies were great, this looks like it doesn't do the "downhill from 4th on" type thing. I love it.

the apes speaking full sentences and developing their society is a big leap from the last film and this is giving me vibes of some of Boom Studios comics, what with use of schizo tech by some apes and more primal human running around. this could be good.
What would be amazing is if in a couple years they release a film centering humans and their arrival to this “new” planet just like the original planet of the apes. Just be kinda cool if they Star Trek 2009 it somehow connecting back to the original media

I imagine they will have their own renaissance, their own Industrial Revolution, their own societal and technological progress, new nations arise which will eventually lead to conflicts. Apes fighting apes. They will most likely have their own world wars. Who knows. That’s just what I imagine.

Bro this next trilogy is going to go more into the future hopefully we see what happened to Icarus. It cooling seeing things from an evolutionary perspective, especially because apes are the closest things to humans. It like we get to see it become real.
