The house looks majestic! Congratulations on the great outcome of the hunting efforts! I'm really looking forward to the contents on house improvement/renovation.
Moving is always chaotic and stressful. But its a lot simpler with no furniture to move. The place looks great. Good job on your landlord negotiations. Concessions instead of asking them to fix it was a smart choice. Now you have the problem of investing time / money into the place which will make you more attached and not want to leave. You'll turn it into a beautiful home, but you don't own it. Not saying it'll happen to you, but the sentiment builts as we get older. I hope you got a multi-year lease with built in renewal terms that is actually followed. Beautiful place!
1000%. Moving usually takes hours just to load a truck but it took like 15 min of us just rolling suitcases down the hallway haha. I love that homes it Vietnam are often fully furnished, it makes things so much more convenient. We have the option to renew. We're the type to move around a lot but this one feels like it might be for the longer term.
House look much better than when you tour first time around. I agree with you on the tiles, i would just tear it all up and put grass or concrete. and plant something that's simple but aesthetic for the side garden.
Beautiful house, I'm sure you'll all love it there...... just a thought.... those cabinet doors come off real easy, so they could take them off, and either take them away to do them, or just refinish them outside. Then the cleaners will be able to come in strait away
Everything worked out. Vietnamese people are really efficient with these things and good at figuring things out on the fly. Services here are sooooo convenient

@travelwithnala happy belated birthday David! Love the videos keep them coming. I wanted to ask if you had a recommendation for a good massage place in Danang with NO funny business if you know what I mean. 😂
P.S. I just saw ur 3 weeks ago video. Gotta tell you… your house is big enough to have a kipputz , or a modern day digital commune. Amazing Mr. And Mrs. leader of the “ Nala Movement”.
I just returned from my 2 week trip to Hanoi, Da Nang, Hoi An, and Ha Long. Was amazing and can't wait to get back. From what I saw, it looks like someone could have moved your whole house with a motorbike easily. 🤣
Mazel Tov! I hadn’t kept up with ur channel b’c I arrived I Saigon on the 6 th of December. So now I have to go back and see how you came to the decision on this house you chose. For ur information I’m a 71 yenta about to give myself up to the cosmetic lasers here in Saigon - Saigon it is because their prices are more in sync with fruglish budget. But anyways, love your persona, personality, and just plain genuineness. Thank you for sharing YOU and family. Devorah 😊
I was happy for you with your apartment and its view. But having more space is even better if you can use it for yourself and friends/families.I hope Nala will also enjoy the new house. Good luck with everything.
Yeah it’s crazy what’s happened to real estate. It’s 10x as bad here in Vietnam sadly. We have family where their house is now like 99% of their net worth but they can’t sell it because then they can’t afford rent. Such a crazy situation.
Got it off Lazada. It’s very light, and feels really cheap but it works perfectly fine for me. It was about $80 where in the US I’m used to paying around $500. My only regret is there was a deeper option but it was sold out at the time so I got the shallower one. If you want to put like a monitor clamp on I think it would break the wood, it’s that light.
Our case was unique because there’s a management company that manages this community so we reached out and asked them to let us know if any availabilities popped up. But they represent the landlord not us
Yeah maybe. I could have gone either way on this one. It ended up only taking an hour to pack and the guy with the truck ended up helping us move everything. If we planned ahead to find the right moving company it shouldn’t cost more than $20 for full service packing and moving.
We only take trips for about 1 week at a time now. Our last trip to Singapore was 5 days. So far we've been lucky and have had family in town during the trips so they would stay at our house and watch Nala. We found a doggy daycare in Da Nang that seems great so we'll try that out next time.
Yeah, especially if you have a smaller dog. There's a big dog community there that hangs out in the huge courtyard so your dog will have lots of friends. Most of the cafes in that building are dog friendly too. For us, we like talking Nala on long walks around the quiet neighborhood and to the park. I have nothing bad to say about Monarchy except for the sometimes long elevator rides (which is always expected when you're high up in a highrise). I still recommend it frequently to my friends.
Hi there, i just found your channel and I'm loving it, i know that you guys don't have kids, but can you make a video about moving in with kids, like international schools, entertainment for kids, the best neighborhood for families etc, we have 2 kids ages 4 and 6 years old 😀 thank you in advance.
We are in Hong Kong, we will be to part of China and fly to Taiwan, Taipei and looking around, I’m not use to the the food here, I think I went the dentist to get my tooth pulled out and with the shots I gotten, it take about four weeks to recover
Sounds like a terrible landlord if you went back and forth with him for weeks on end about simple cleaning such as cleaning and fixing things in his own house😅 Despite the stressful day you managed to vlog.👏
We found out later that it was mostly the previous tenants fault. They never reported any issues or asked for things to be fixed. So we and the agent kept finding new problems. The landlord was actually really great about agreeing to pay for and fix all the issues found but they live in Hanoi and have to talk through the agent so there's always the communication delay. We didn't have problems with this landlord but we've dealt with so many nightmare landlords in the past that we'd rather put the initiative in our hands.
Yeah moving in LA is $100 an hour minimum but we had so little stuff. We honestly could have just walked all our stuff to the new house but I didn’t want to take 5 trips. Normal price for moving here is like $15-$20. Insane

I own a Condo unit in D2 Thao Dien. Do you guys know if the real estate is going higher in that area?
No one knows if any asset is going up. They just know if it has gone up. It’s all speculation
how much is rent for the house? so nicee!!

Hey love the channel ! We are also looking to rent long term…. Can you share details of the agent you used? Thanks
Thanks! My advice is to find 3-4 different agents through the FB groups. Different agents have different listings.
Our case was unique because there’s a management company that manages this community so we reached out and asked them to let us know if any availabilities popped up. But they represent the landlord not us
it seems like too much trouble, should have paid the 80 bucks.
Yeah maybe. I could have gone either way on this one. It ended up only taking an hour to pack and the guy with the truck ended up helping us move everything. If we planned ahead to find the right moving company it shouldn’t cost more than $20 for full service packing and moving.
That’s how I feel. $80 bucks get me 13 Starbucks coffee lattes
If people are living in a budget, 80$ is a lot 😅..
How is the weather in Da Nang? We are coming on January 3.
Pretty rainy right now. We’re deep in rainy season. Things should start to clear up in January a bit.
Thanks we love your videos. Hopefully it won’t rain too much when I am in Vietnam. My first time back since 1975.

what's the monthly rent for a place in Da Nang like you moving to?
Around 1500-2000
Would you still recommend Monarchy with a dog?

hello David, if you dont mine me asking, what do you guys do for living ?

$80.00 is totally nothing. In the USA it would be at least $1000.00. I want to move there Great looking apartment very nice

Did you rent or purchase? If you rent how much per month?
rent. can't purchase land as a foreigner
