Don't believe what they tell you. Vietnamese girls are NOT cold to White guys from America even the first time they meet. They love these guys hoping to go to America. If they know you are from America and single, not need to be young. That's a big plus for the same reason.
@@KhamphaSouphanthavong-w3d He talked about trash, rats, open animals, dirtiness even in the supermarkets. The air and water are highly polluted that he could see with his naked eyes and his senses. What he did not mention, of course he didn't see, was the food is also unsafe to eat especially those cheap places, like street food, cheap restaurants. He also talked about the infrastructures. No metro system, no rules driving on the streets. People were driving all over, even drive on the building. No jobs!!! You go there to spend. But finding a job may not be easy.
Vietnamese here and appreciate very much. You spoke the truth about negative sides of Vietnam. It helps people prepared for what they are going to see in Vietnam rather than only good positive things. Traffics, pollutions, corruption are always the biggest problems and we’re fighting for this. Hope to see your review again about Vietnam 10 years from now. Good luck with your journey man!
@@AQTuanTran-ne8oq Because...I'm a reasonable local Vietnamese who understands that solving the problems this youtuber raised requires changes and cooperation among the government (policies, governance), infrastructure (public transport, city planning), and citizens (perception, awareness), which cannot be changed over night. 15 years ago, the entire country was covered in yellow dust with very few high rise buildings, so, I believe in 10 years, there will be significant changes for him to review again.
As a Vietnamese, I have to say that this is the most accurate depiction of Vietnamese life. Many youtubers only go to Vietnam and say it is a living haven, while the truth is not really close to it.
As a Vietnamese, thank you for saying the truth. Some Vietnamese actually think our country as a regional power or a economic miracle, that our living condition surpassed some neighboring countries like Philippines for example. Its far from the truth. Vietnam is just an ordinary tropical developing country with interesting culture, but also have a lot of work to do in many aspects.
The problem with Vietnam is how tough Vietnamese have it. My friends in Vietnam have top degrees, great skillset, but they work six days per week, unpaid overtime, abusive management, and very low pay. Pay in Bangkok is low too, but in Saigon its even lower. The only hopeful thing is that the economy in Vietnam is growing. However, places like Saigon are experiencing such a huge influx of people-too much strain on limited space means more competition more stress. Still a very beautiful country, but the Vietnamese around you are struggling everyday, trust me.
Vietnam's economic growth is not sustainable. IN my view, the developing nature of the country is a false "pro". Wealth is not meant to be created in ways that benefit the middle class and vast majority of people. The leaders of the country simply do not have the right priorities at heart.
Love your take on Vietnam. Very comprehensive, thank you (cam on). One thing you forgot to mention about the Da Nang beach My An, was how incredibly warm the water is at night. That shocked me. I’ve never been to an ocean where the water was warm. Great footage thank you. Live here, born in San Diego, Ca.
@@TerrySharp-y1r Some may prefer Nha Trang The population is about 40% of Danang It is more compact, has less traffic, is slightly cheaper and still has a very nice beach.
The low cost of living in Vietnam will negates all of the negatives. Regardless of the infrastructure , Trash and etc., I still felt more comfortable living there unlike united states where I felt like 80% dead.
My take is that in SEA I would only live in beachy kind of village and avoid the cities. The only exception to that is actually Da Nang (where I currently live). The air is clean, the weather is a bit more chill, the city has the perfect balance between city vibes/beach, food is amazing, vietnamese people are great, the country is thriving...What more?

@@jromxx I agree I will live 80 or 90% of the time in Danang, Nha Trang or Dalat and I live outside of Vietnam in 3 or 4 other countries 8 or 9 months a year. For me, and investor's visa is the way to go and 50k is nothing. I have invested over 10x that in both Tokyo and the US stock market. 95% of the time, I am in cities with better air quality than Hanoi, HCMC, Tokyo or Bangkok Expat 37 years I have been living in 3 or 4 countries for 25 years It is easy for me to avoid air pollution, traffic and having a job in Vietnam. I can make more in Japan or the USA in 6 mobths than in Vietnam in 9 to 12 months but I only work 6 months a year and 12 to 16 hours a week. I have lots of local multi millionair friends in Thailand, Vietnam, India and Pakistan What the average local is doing has no bearing on my life, income or net worth. I am making a couple investments in greater Hanoi but soon I will be living in my own house in Danang or Nha Trang and investing 100 to 150k is easy for me. Vietnam is mostly great outside of Hanoi and HCMC as long as u can make over 60k a year I have done that for 40 years in 5 countries. For most expats, income and visas, are the biggest obstacles to living outside Hanoi and HCMC.
I am thinking about Thailand or Da Nang next year when I can work online full time. Are you in an expat group on FB or something where I can ask you more questions about life there?
I havn't tried other vietnamese cities yet to live in... Only Da Nang. I'm amazed at how there are NO HOMELESS people here. I have looked everywhere.. Where are the Homeless people in Vietnam?
Da Nang is a very segregated city. Try looking in the city center, on the other side of the river, you will see completely different picture from your cozy My An.
Thailand has remarkable infrastructure, such as the subway. However, traffic jams are more horrible in Bangkok than in HCM. Why? Because of cars and trucks. Streets are as narrow as Ho Chi Minh City, but with a large number of cars, it is no wonder there are such nightmarish traffic jams every day during rush hours in Bangkok. My Thai friend went to work by car, he was stuck in traffic for a few hours. If he walked to work, it would take him only maybe 20 minutes. He could not dismiss his chauffeur because the latter would have no job. The car and the chauffeur were provided by his Japanese company, so he had to ride by car to work a few times a week, so his chauffeur could keep his job. You expect to go to a foreign country where some natives have to speak English to accommodate you. Who are you? A king! You go to Montreal, Quebec; a lot of people there speak English but if you ask them in English, they expect you to speak some basic French to them such as "Where can I find maple syrup?" or "Where is the toilette?" Yes, you are right about the garbage strewn in the streets, but they are just papers or plastics littered by the Vietnamese. At night, after the markets, everything will be cleaned up for the next day. In NYC, there are gigantic rats in the subway, and rats and cockroaches in the basements of many old buildings. Cases of mass food poisoning are sometimes reported in the news. I was in VN for 3 months, twice, and never heard of food poisoning or diarrhea from friends. Vietnamese people, listen! Please find ways to contain paper, straws, cups, bottles, and bags in containers, please do not litter them in the streets. OK! PLEASE. In the streets of the most romantic Paris, lovers have to watch for dog poops! VN is still developing, so people cluster in the big cities for jobs. HCM houses 13 million residents. However, you find little garbage in the streets of many affluent areas. Just like in Thailand or the Phillippines, there are many poor areas as well. But don't judge the book by its cover. As a foreigner, you know nothing about the hidden wealth that these huts and shabby houses have inside. Look at those European-styled residential houses in HCM and many other cities in VN, there are no counterparts in the USA, Europe, Thailand the Phillippines, etc. Each European-styled house is unique, no one looks identical to the other. Thailand was lucky in the past, its modernization was subsidized and financed with partial support from many countries. Does English help with the development? Yes and no, look at the Phillippines, a majority learn and speak in public schools but their economy is developing or developed? Look at Thailand, not a majority of Thais speak English but Bangkok represents the accomplishment of a metropolis city. Yes, VN needs a system of water reservoirs intended for purified water supplied to the entire city, Currently, I know that many households in VN use traditional methods of purifying water but we still have to boil it before drinking. Yes, I agree that English should be taught in VN and there is a shortage of English teachers. However, people still have to work so hard that they don't have time or money to study English. When you go to Soul or Tokyo, do people speak English there? Good luck, People don't give a damn if you speak English. If you can't speak Korean or Japanese then please move on so I can sell to another customer. If you want to learn culture in another foreign place, just stand and observe long enough, you will soon understand what ceremony they are practicing. Food soothes the stomach and religion pacifies the mind. It seems the more advanced a country becomes, the less religion becomes an essential part of life. Religion can be both a unifying and divisive force for a country. If you want fresh air, get out of the big cities, this applies to all countries in the world.
You nailed it 100% man, I lived here for six months & I can confidently say that this video describes what Vietnam is comprehensively & precisely in under 10 minutes, great job bro
You think very simply. When foreigners invested in China, they tried to get involved in many aspects of the supply chain for big companies there as much as possible, from materials to small parts and sensors inside cell phones, rather than only doing assembly jobs. So, if these smartphone companies move to Vietnam, they will only lose some assembly jobs, but they will still be the main suppliers for big companies selling the products. Additionally, China has aimed to do this across all industries, not just smartphones. Okay, they moved to Vietnam, but they still need to import many parts from China to make their products. If Vietnam wants to become a developed country, it must address its urban planning problems and, at the same time, take advantage of the benefits from international big businesses leaving China and investing in Vietnam to build its own industries
@@ewirhigfj I absolutely understand the complexity of this issue, however the current stand of the CCP, and it's aggressive international policies finally convinced the international companies that the short term financial benefits are not enough of a benefit comparing to long term business instability, IP theft and other issues when doing business with China. That's why I strongly believe Vietnam and its people have a bright future ahead of them.
@@MrRootMusic I am not Chinese, but I know that all the big tech companies in China are trying to apply for as many patents and IP rights as possible. At least they demonstrate to the world that they are learning instead of doing nothing. For example, Huawei
@@MrRootMusic I dont use their products now ok. However, you don't get my point. I mean China is ready to pay/invest more money to learn new technology mainly from US/EU first, and then they try to improve it from this point... This is not simply by asking them to invest in their country only ( you understand?). in parallel with, they really do the good job to build their infrastructures + urban planning. For example. They are currently trying to make commercial airflight with more than 90% of components imported from other countries in 2022, but in the next 10 years, this number is unlikely to remain at 90%
I am building a big house in a village 30 miles from Hanoi. The air is polluted everywhere in the North, but at least I will live in a peaceful environment and have access to cleaner food in the village once I am done with the hustle and bustle of life in the U.S.
@ No. The constitution of VN doesn’t even allow the Vietnamese citizen to own land out right. They only have the right to use the land. Much worse for foreigners.
I absolutely love Vietnam, I lived there for three years. It's my second home and I'd live there again in the future. Yes, it's not the cleanest and it can get chaotic, but you get used to it and hopefully it improves. I think those problems overshadow the beauty of the country, it's people, the food, prices, culture... etc etc. Vietnam's an amazing country to live in, especially compared to the West. Cảm ơn Việt Nam!
Being Polish and living in Da Nang now - I agree on the comparison between the two! Quickly developing with bunch of initially grumpy people After 21 years in US - not looking back, probably not even visiting for a while. SE Asia has so much to offer for so much less 💵
Why do foreigners like Vietnam? Because they can afford 80% of the Western lifestyle (not 100%, but approximately 80%) at 20% or 30% of the cost. Western-level studio bedroom at $300/month, grocery never exceed 200$/month, 1$ delicious breakfast, etc.... No crimes, decent, clean streets, ... you live like what you live ALMOST similar to the West at a fraction of the cost. What this guy doing is he is complaining about the missing 20% that Vietnam currently can't replicate like the West (namely only 2 things : orderly traffic and air pollution, etc...). Dude if Vietnam can replicate the West 100% (orderly traffic, air etc...), you would pay FULL PRICE (a condo would cost 2000-3000$/month, $15 breakfast, 500-800$/month groceries, etc..) for living there. Get real dude, be careful what you wish for.
He speaks the truth: this is something that Vietnam should take seriously if it wants to become a developed country in the future. For example, in Hanoi, aside from a few areas built by Vingroup and the central locations with many government offices planned by the French in the past, other areas suffer from poor urban planning. The roads are small, and tube houses are everywhere. If you open the map, you can see how urban planning in some developed countries in East Asia or EU/US looks. It is not difficult to transition from a poor country to the level of many developing countries in Southeast Asia, such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, and the Philippines. However, to become a developed country, you need a clear vision, long-term planning, and many other factors. Good urban planning is very important at first! . There’s no need to mention that the weather is tropical in Vietnam; without good urban planning, people will suffer more. Actually, France set good examples of how effective urban planning should look like, as seen in the central locations of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. However, after gaining independence from France, the Vietnamese did not learn anything from it. But I don't believe that the average Vietnamese are not smart enough to implement good urban planning. There is definitely something VERY wrong or missing here until today. th-cam.com/video/MJscH6klFwQ/w-d-xo.html
There is no need to be overly sensitive. It's totally okay to talk about the negatives, as well as the positives of a country. In fact, when someone speaks nothing but positive about something, and it sounds too good to be true, you should be even more skeptical, because they are likely lying to you for their own profit. Do you want to hear the truth, or do you want to live in a fantasy land?
I'm pretty sure Wes implied that the cost savings don't make up for the negatives mentioned like poor infrastructure and pollution. I'd agree, I'm paying more to live in a clean and orderly city.
As a foreigner living in Hanoi, everything you said was on point. 1. Even with the chaotic traffic around, I have rarely seen any big accidents or collisions. And when locals get into minor accidents, they just get up and proceed. Quite funny. In my country, both parties would get off their vehicle, have a verbal argument, get a police, then exchange insurance informations. But one thing you did not mention was crossing the street. I tell you its suicide, but somehow I have mastered it. lol! 2. I love that it is fairly safe here. I have at many times, walked in alleys past midnight to buy in stores for munchies. 3. YES!!! I love vietnamese tailoring! Good fabrics and good tailors. Though I am a bit on the heavy side, so they are not used to my proportions. lol! Additionally, another thing I would like to add as someone who has been here for more than 5 years, is that Vietnamese people will take care of you. Everybody knows me in my alley, the local vegetable vendor, the convenience store lady, the banh mi lady, the coffee guy, the xoi lady, the milk tea crew, the com tam lady, everyone on my street knows me. Even with the language barrier, they are kind to me. I got into an accident, I had to use crutches, people carried stuff for me, made things easier for me. When I got sick, they give me extra bananas, fruits. Summer they give me extra ice. They give me extra vegetables. There are locals who I have just met who have helped me find an apartment, move apartments, brought me to hospitals, help me find stuff, etc. I tell you Vietnamese people are one of the most generous people I have met.
Nice video,! i am Vietnamese who living in Ha Noi and i totally agree with you bro. Vietnam is developing well recently and we all hope the infrastructure getting better in big cities like Ha Noi and HCM. Like you i am a person who values rules and orders that why i choose to live outside of center of city where the infrastructure are new developed, more organised and synchronised and less polluted even it takes me much more time to go to office but that's kind of a tradeoff.

This is actually your issue; you need to find happiness for yourself. Every country has its own problems. It’s important to respect the culture, history, and local people, whether it’s Vietnam or any other country. You see, you could easily stay in other cities like Hong Kong, Zurich, or London. Vietnam has many issues, but it’s famous for its hospitality, lack of racial discrimination, diverse cuisine, and affordability,no gun. Dont get me wrong, I love VietNam , but the beautiful country is ruing by Government, corruption is happening everywhere , as Vietnamese when our family entering from Tan Son Nhất one time we did not have small bills to pay for the custom. officer he held us longer than others…
That's so weird but I have been in and out of Vietnam no less than 10 times (Tan Son Nhat) and never ran into any issues, custom was fine, never got hold back for anything, and was never asked or had to pay anything to get through.
This is such a lie! I’ve been in and out of Tan Son Nhat airport many times coming from the USA. The Custom Officers never asked for $. Unless you were trying to bribe them with your $ and thought they somehow could give you a break from the long line. The fact is that the airport was overloaded for many years as the country is growing fast while new airport and new terminal are still underway. Thus, it took quite a while to get thru Customs. And that happened to everyone!
many great points. in hcmc last month, i went to a popular breakfast restaurant. it was definitely seemed like it ought to have been making enough revenue to operate and a clean and sanitary way, it it was actually a trendy place. i had to go to the bathroom and to get there i needed to walk through a hallway with the doors into the bathrooms. the bathrooms were dirty. but the crazy thing is they had about 20 to 30 raw chicken carcasses out on the floor to remove the guts, and some of them were sliding into the bathroom that had piss splattered on the floor. anyways, still an interesting country to visit
Nha trang is clean as fk. I built a house here. Dang city workers take my trash daily and literally sweet my street and all streets Granted i think this only applies to a few cities. But ecen hcm, ha noi, korea, japan, clean all streets every night.

The uploader has lived in Colombia so most of SEA will be nice and chill for him apart from the Philippines and Myanmar, where things can easily go wrong if you're slack.
FYI you probably shouldn't use the word "sucks" or a "mess" in your video titles and thumbnails when describing someone else's country. It just makes the video sound narrow minded even if the actual content isn't. Maybe just go with the title "Why I can't/won't live in X Country", much less harsh and states that your views are personal and not objective. I'm not Vietnamese but I would find those things insulting if someone said that about my country.
I’m a Vietnamese Canadian citizen. I just came back from a 4-month trip to Vietnam and I’m not offended at the video title. I was thinking of retiring there but I just know I won’t be able to adapt myself to the weather, pollution, dirt, lack of hygiene, insects, sewer smell and the noise. My God, the noise was coming from EVERYWHERE! It’s far from paradise and there’s also the communism problem so, he’s not wrong. I like Hanoi, but I never have to drive during rush hour and I live in a huge house, not a small apartment. I have a maid and people who cook and shop for me. If you are a young worker commuting during rush hour, living in a 40 to 60 sq m apartment then you will have a different perspective I can work remotely and collect social security so for me, it is better than most. If you make 2000 to 3000 from 3 or 4 sources, live in Danang, work remotely and make over 6000 while living in a big house then you will love it 32 33 degrees is no problem for me. Where you could've added to this vid is by highlighting the people more, they are what makes this place and for every crappy interaction, you'll have scores of amazing ones. For all Vietnam's failings, I wouldn't change my decision to live here in Saigon for so long. Thanks for the vid!
I think when you travel into another country, you know what to expect. If you like everything to look like the west then stay west or go to Japan. I am from the US. I enjoy each country for what it is. The imperfections and all. If I want to be in district 1 and fancy shops and places to eat, I don’t need to travel that far. I stay here in the US. It’s nice to have that option but it’s not why you visit VN. Dalat weather is nice if you like cooler temp. Great city with all the great restaurants and hotels/airbnb options. Hanoi is like NYC to me. I love it. Danang/Nha Trang. Amazing beaches. Eatings and things to do. More energy than the next two. Cam Ranh/Quy Nhon. More quiet if you like less people but great beaches and restaurants. Middle VN folks are nicer by nature. Up north is more like New Yorker. A little more direct but still great people. Saigon has a little of everything for everyone without the beaches. I would live in the middle for beaches and short flight to Hanoi or Saigon when I want to. Enjoy your trip whenever you’re there. 🥂
Hey Wes you're right on the money brother, but you're being too nice, I'm a American / young retiree, meaning I retired at 46, plus I'm a long term foreign resident of Vietnam as well a foreigner married to a local Vietnamese woman who came with 2 kids, but I'm only responsible for the girl and my wife ex-husband has the boy I've been living in Việt Nam consistently now for 7yrs, I can tell you some things that will blow your mind bro outside of what you think you know, is why every once in a while my wife will ask me as well as local Vietnamese friends will ask, why I choose to live in Việt Nam when I can live in a much better country other than Vietnam, which is why now after 7yrs I've taken the initiative to move, because I've had enough and due to the fact that I barely see the good anymore and the stress of daily life in Southeast Asia as a whole weighing on me. My first plan in moving abroad was to move to Europe, but I'm glad I came Southeast Asia first because it taught me a few lessons about living abroad, which is don't believe the hype. My wife, stepdaughter and I are going to be moving to Europe soon, which and feel happier for the decision, because living cheaply do not equate to happy as well as a quality of life, so I much rather pay a bit more for my serenity, safety and sanity. But my only question is when anyone make a realistic video about Southeast Asia and what really is, for some apparent reason all the the Rosy Glasses Wearing Glorifyers as well as the Sexpats, LBH's aka loosers back home come out of woodwork in defense of this SE - Asia like they was born and grew up there, which is funny than hell.... I buddy of mine and a long time resident of SE Asia, once told me only foreigners glorify Southeast Asia and not to be one of them, because the locals sure don't. Anyway good video bro, and everything you said is true and then some, which the Glorifyers doesn't like to hear, because if Việt Nam was to become expensive one day, watch all those so called digital Nomads and Expats run for the next cheap country, cause there is no more cheap sex, cheap coffee and cheap living, which means 80% of those Expats / Begpackers will actually have to find real job and start being responsible...etc

These are the foreigners locals pretend to like despise and charge them stupid foreigner prices and the same foreigners who always end in problems in Việt Nam and make front page news in the Việt News papers. Also any foreigner who has spent any considerable amount of time in Asia will let you know Vietnam and Southeast Asia on a whole has a way of mentally & stressfully wearing foreigners out over time the longer they live in Southeast Asia and I'm not just speaking about myself. This is fact a common thing, most foreigners go through who live in Asia extensively, hell I have a number of foreign friends who try to cope in different ways due to all the stress and daily BS of SE, some go to the local bar everyday, some smoke and stay on a high, some have 5 local Vietnamese women on the side even if they're married to just fuck around. Thanks for the contents, Wes, that's really on point. Just wanna add some, it's great to have a balance between expats and locals, you don't wanna be skewed to one, furthermore it's quality of life, I think Da Nang is the only city in Vietnam having both. It's a smaller-sized city in Vietnam so not the best job market, but yk the Singaporean, Taiwanese, Chinese, American, are huge investors in Vietnam, also with cultural similarities, you are fitted in and more than welcome in Vietnam, Wes! or you can just start your own business, they have that investment visa type. I also hope they can do something with the weak public transport, noice pollution and chaotic traffic too, people get along with it anw but def those are the cons.
I love Vietnam : i was responsible for Hanoi Haiphing Expressway : the best highway in Vietnam. Vietnam has issues but has come a long way in 50 years ... DON'T TRASH YOUR OWN COUNTRY. I would rather live in Vietnam than the UK. But my family and my Vietnamese partner want to be here :(
The best place to live for me now is in China. Even as an English teacher it really pays very well (above average than normal Chinese people's salaries) and living expenses are comparable to SE Asian Countries except if you live in Shanghai.
Vietnamese here. You are spot on. Hanoi ranks 154 and HCM ranks 172 out of 178 in quality of life. Way too crowded and chaotic. Air quality is really bad with all the factories and farming. Few smaller cities are great bang for bucks if you have an online income or retired. Nha Trang, Da Nang, Ha Long, etc. I prefer the North with 4 seasons. Humidity is good for your skin. Taxes are good. But I too don't think it's a good long-term base. It's not a developed country and growth has not been good recently. Viet culture and ways of thinking have many flaws, compare to more developed countries (know this cause I've been all over the world). Honestly there's small hope.

I disagree that growth has not been good recently for Vietnam. Gdp growth post pandemic was 8 percent in 2022 and 5 percent in 2023. This year it's projected to be 6-7%, so Vietnam's economy is actually doing very well considering the general troubles around the world. Still a long way to go for Vietnam, but so far things are looking pretty good economy wise.

I think it's the current 'cool' hustle and bustle backpacking place just like Thailand was 20 years ago. Backpackers love things cheap and unconventional. They are young and can take it. I'm getting towards being middle aged and want comfort and stability.
There’s no quality of life there. They live in poverty, sometimes abject and they’re miserable. They complain all day long about how life is hard and miserable. It is a communist country, after all. I was born there and have family there so I’ve heard the complaints. And they’re also rude, they just kept criticizing me during my last trip there.
law enforcement there don't wear their uniforms properly and look kinda shabby, also they mix used and new ice on the same bucket and replace melted ice on the glasses constantly, making the ice marinated in a pool of random spit and residue.
I didn't like Saigon. Super crowded with limited public transportation. Thailand was much nicer. The people were nice and the street food was good. Thailand had more variety and there was more of it.

Hi thanks

A king! You go to Montreal, Quebec; a lot of people there speak English but if you ask them in English, they expect you to speak some basic French to them such as "Where can I find maple syrup?" or "Where is the toilette?"
Yes, you are right about the garbage strewn in the streets, but they are just papers or plastics littered by the Vietnamese.

A lot of international big business is leaving China and investing in Vietnam. So this country has a promising future.

Quickly developing with bunch of initially grumpy people
After 21 years in US - not looking back, probably not even visiting for a while.

G'day Wll
If the West got it's act together it can also be cheap there's nothing stopping it
I'm pretty sure Wes implied that the cost savings don't make up for the negatives mentioned like poor infrastructure and pollution.

LMAO I've been in and out SGN airport so many times and never have any problem except there are always big fat lines there.
Yeah, it used to be like that at the airport, but I think they don't ask for money anymore.

It just makes the video sound narrow minded even if the actual content isn't. Maybe just go with the title "Why I can't/won't live in X Country", much less harsh and states that your views are personal and not objective.

Sorry to bust your bauble friend, but I'm not like most foreigners who live in Việt Nam on extended vacation and live like Việt Nam is my personal playground and the local Vietnamese women are for my personal pleasure or act like I'm above the locals just because I can afford to live life comfortably and batter than 90% of the local Vietnamese population who have to 6 to 7 days a week to make ends meet.
My personal coping mechanism is staying myself within my local Vietnamese community and going to the local Vietnamese gym where I don't have to see tourist or deal with foreign newbies who think they landed in sort of utopia or foreigners in general.
The amazing part of my day in Việt Nam is my wife and beautiful stepdaughter, which brings comfort my life in Việt Nam.
But in taking the advice of many of the foreign old timers who settled in Southeast Asia before this new wave of foreigners who came such as myself and others, which is and I quote (have your fun and go, but don't settle or waste your time here in Asia unless you can't afford anywhere else, and if find someone make sure they're for you and take them with you.)
