It's like Bi Han and Kuai Liang different Sub-Zero's. Only difference is Ren is still the same and didnt become a Psycho... but I must say, I think both of their Rens are Amazing. Ren was my favorite character in the first 3 Volumes and my 2nd Favorite in Volumes 4-6 (Oscar became my Favorite by then). I feel like Volume's 4 & 6 were the best Seasons for Ren. Volume 5 was ok, he was a little bit of a Plot device, but thankfully when the big fight happened at the end of Vol. 5 he was much better, back to being the wise but not Plot-driving Character we all know and love (well, most love or like him)
We just got so used to Neath that it got written over in our brains, sooner or later Qrow will sound weird with a Vic’s voice instead of Jason’s. Also please do not argue about the Vic controversy just using him as an example since Qrow is the only other character to change voice actors. That is all.

I personally think that Neath is a good fit for Ren following the time skip. I like because of how calm he sounded and he kinda gave Ren an accent. I like Neath because he makes Ren wiser. Choosing between the two is VERY difficult because Monty Oum was great at everything. While Neath is inexperienced but still did great.

I know that -obviously- Monty would have an effect on how his own characters were written, but even just the ‘tonal’ whiplash of how Ren acts in Vol 3 is slightly jarring; like he’s a completely different person(which, I guess he kinda is).
