    I can not say THANK YOU enough for these 3 videos. I am getting ready to dive head first into a career in hotshot just waiting on my MC approval and I have searched the internet high and low trying to find good paperwork videos and you are the only one that I have found that has done this! Thank you so much!!

    I include 8 items in every invoice email,
    1 Rate con
    2 sign BOL/POD
    3 W9
    4 my insurance cert
    5 pic of item on truck at pick up location
    6 pic of item off truck at drop location
    7 the invoice
    8 copy of my authority
    This prevents them from calling and saying ANYTHING is missing. Hope that helps.

    I just want to say thank you. I have watched dozens of Hotshot Videos solely for the purpose of gaining knowledge and insights. Your videos are all about the information and not the entertainment. I'm not watching to be entertained. I'm watching to learn. Keep up the good work. Maybe I will run into you on the road one day. Another great video. Maybe you could do some more videos on how to secure different kinds of loads. Working off a load board you come across so many things you have to figure out how to secure . Some of these new guys and girls probably have no idea about what their gonna come across out there.
    I was on the road for about 3 months and seen some pretty unsafe looking loads on hot shot trucks and 18 wheelers. Just trying to keep everyone safe out there. Can never put enough emphasis on safety!

    You can also go into your settings on your email and setup read receipt so you can be notified when they click on and open the email.

    Iive started my car hauling career but do have questions on the sequence. The process of a car is load board ➡ boak load ➡ confirm rate etc ➡ arrive at pick up location ➡ get keys/ inspect vehicle ➡ send BOL ➡ Load Vehicle ➡ Transport ➡ arrive to destination ➡ deliver car / get receiver to sign off BOL??? 🤔

  • @maplewood928
    @maplewood928 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Have a question sir. Is it better to pick your own loads off a load board. Or use a Dispatcher? If so how do you choose one and a rate to pay % them

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Very good question. I might actually make a video on this to answer it in full but the short answer is that a dispatcher can be a very good asset. It’s not one size fits all though. 3 big things need to be considered. Their contracts, their freight lanes and their volume. From there you can negotiate a %. Never use a dispatch company for a flat rate, there’s no incentive for them to make you money. The rate will be based on the 3 things I listed as well as your bottom line. I’ve heard of 5% all the way up to 15%. Don’t be swayed by big numbers though. Anybody charging you over 7% needs to have the ability to gross you over 1k per day per truck regularly.

    Whether we use the factoring company or the Broker, we send one or the other the BOL, Rate Con and Invoice?

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With a factoring company you’ll send the rate con and BOL. If you’re hauling directly for a broker or customer you’ll send a BOL and Invoice. 👍

  • @codypassarell3269
    @codypassarell3269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dumb question but if you get COD and are giving the shipper and receiver a BOL are you still giving an invoice to someone?

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can give them a receipt if they request one for a COD. An invoice is sent to the broker or customer for outstanding payments that will be mailed to you or deposited ACH.

    got question my truck gvwr is 12200 my gawr front 5200 rear 9350 my scale ticket empty with trailer hooked up 5120 front 6580 rear and 7340 trailer axel does this mean i can only load 500 on the truck as a payload?

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To stay under the rear gawr yes, you’d only be able to let 500 lbs increase the tongue weight. Basically you’d need everything you’d haul to be over the trailer axles.

    I hate this cause I hear what you need paperwork/ logo and all but where and how do you get the program to create the bol and all you need and how to get the stuff printed off while you're one the road.

    Are you using a invoice software or just creating your own?

    • @LoadMizer

      I just make my own. I rarely have to invoice anyone.

  • @kevinwalters8280
    @kevinwalters8280 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Is it easier to print these out on the road or do most companies have the rate con and BOL at the shippers?

    • @LoadMizer
      @LoadMizer  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The rate con will always be emailed or faxed to you. For freight most of the time the shipper will have their own bol. Cars generally you use your own or an app. It’s rare to use anything else with cars.
