Made by an engineering company specifically to reduce the sound level a little bit but allow maximum breathing. Ordered a DB metre but unfortunately did not arrive in time for this test, so will publish results on FB.
I have a PCV on the Nuda. When I put the LV on, switched maps as they developed one specifically for this LV. When I first put the Akra on it had no PCV but it definitely improved the bike in terms of BHP and torque.
Cheers, tried a couple on IOS but the iPhone and iPad Mic's couldn't handle the sound. There was also no consistency, it gave a different reading every time.
Yeah, thought about shortening the Akra but I know what the outcome would be, toooo loud and a ruined exhaust. It takes less than 5 minutes to change the exhausts, so both are keepers and will be swapping between them both.
It's really very close between the two. You have to hear it in person to find that 2% difference between the 2. The LV has a bit more Bass and a tiny bit louder.
Back in 1975 I had a new Yamaha RD 350,when I put the Chambers on it and riding down town San Jose, California when it hit the sweet spot it would vibrate the store windows and people would cover their ears, really a fun bike to ride
Hard to put a cost on the Akra as it's all bespoke. I would estimate around £600 for the Akra setup and the LV costs £700 from Husqvarna. I got it much cheaper though.

First bit is in an abandoned carpark near an old rowing club isn't it? I think I've bumped into you a few times on the A4 if that's you too, I live right where you filmed. Nice vid... Sometimes cool to see what a small world it is!
I bit more research would tell you that engine has as much in common with the GS engine as I have to Brad Pitt. The engine is completely gutted in Italy and almost only the casings are used.
nice wee comparison RJ, as long as there is some back pressure either exhaust is nice...hard to tell if the custom baffle had any affect though the pc, maybe easier to hear in person...sure is nice to hear you ;P
rj ive been watching your videos for over a year now and they are fantastic. you have inspired me to get a bike so i have it arrived on wednesday with a full arrow exhaust which is loud. as i am new to bikes can you ride them without the db killer in without being pulled over as mine arrived without one my bike i should say is two years old and im the second owner.
Could you make a short film of your sound and vision setup you use? In this I mean how do you get the sound from the exhaust, but yet sound crisp when your riding and talking? Thankyou
Hard choice indeed RJ, they both sound great but personally i think LeoVince sounds a bit deeper/throaty but not that big difference from Akrapovic what i could hear with my speakers. LeoVince has a beefier look and with the right logo, i prefer that one :)
It would be a tough choice. I like both, maybe slightly more on the Leo for sound, but overall package with both sound and looks goes to Akra. Makes me think I need to switch out my Two Brothers to see what sound I could get out of one of the two shown.

Hej RJ, to be honest. The best one is not the one with best sound. F... the sound, but the one which gives you more HP and torque or let's say smoother curve of torque. Weight is also important. When I've compared weight of stock GT1000 exhaust and than SC1000PaulSmart Shark exhaust decision was quite obvious - stock went to scrap yard :D. Regards

I hardly know a thing about bikes, so excuse me for my ignorance. What I want to know is whether or not those exhausts are legal, they quite loud, I can imagine some people making complaints
Depends on where you are (i.e. what country). In Europe these exhausts are not road legal with out baffles. In the UK you can be fined for having a non road legal exhaust. If you are visiting Switzerland and you have an overly noisy exhaust at the border, you may not be let in
carmadflynn Oh so true. :s I have a KTM 640LC4 SM, with All restrictions removed, with 2 open Akra carbon exhausts (without the db-killers) and I always have the lights ON. And even than some stupid ... did dare to tell me she didn't see or hear me coming and I was driving to fast.!!! IMHO, She just drove her car back with the radio loud and without looking just in-front of me. And also, if she didn't see me, how the hell can she know that I was driving to "fast".... lol and that on a parking with lots of people and children. uhu... right (Yes, I am still angry when I think back.)
Anyone with a nuda know if the leovince is just a slip on that bolts on both the stock headers and leovince collectors. I'm looking at buying a nuda but aftermarket parts are scarce these days.

just an FYI, you can get db meter apps for smartphones, not sure of the accuracy but probably a lot cheaper than a real SPL meter

They're both nice. But I think the Leo sounds a bit more savage and scary, so I'd go with that one.
What was the exhaust in earlier videos? Stock? It sounded the best for me :)
