The comment that usually appears under these videos are: "Dirty Loops is what happens when every person in the band is the best musician in the band...."
You are now loopified, once you have jumped into that rabbit hole there is no turning back. They are by far the most interesting music phenomenon entering the music scene in decades and I simply love it.
Hahaha, what a wonderful reaction! I just love to see someone experiencing Dirty Loops for the first time and have their mind blown. They started the group as a hobby project in 2008, and never thought it would be anything other than that. In 2010 they put up a video on youtube (a cover of Lady Gaga's "Just Dance"), as a booking reference, to see if they could get a gig or two, just for fun, as they thought their music was way too unsexy for anyone to actually like it. Needless to say, they were completely wrong. The video went viral and a LOT of people absolutely loved it. Just about everything they've ever released is of this ridiculous musical quality, so if you consider checking out more of them, you could basically pick anything, and you more than likely won't be disappointed. My personal favourite is one of their more jazz fusion-y pieces, "Work Shit Out". They've all known each other and played together for 20+ years by now, in their mid-thirties. Jonah (keyboard/vocals) and Henrik (bass) even went to music elementary school together and met when Henrik was 11 and Jonah was 9. Aron (drums) comes from another part of Sweden and came along when he moved to Stockholm at the age of 16, to attend the same music high school as they did (he was in the year between the other two). Then they all attended Kungliga Musikhögskolan (Royal College of Music) in Stockholm, where Henrik and Aron studied jazz/rock, and Jonah opted for music production as his main subject. Believe it or not, but Jonah says the piano is his first instrument, not the singing. He comes from a family of classical musicians, and has sung in choirs (mostly chamber choirs) his whole life, but started studying the classical piano when he was 11 and then switched to jazz mid-highschool. When they started the band he had never sung lead and didn't even know if he could. These dudes are ridiculous! 🤯
Thanks Lotta, for this detailed introdution to Dirty Loops. I still remeber my moment to discover them. It was by a post on facebook by a friend (a Jazz-guitarist) from my German hometown. Normally I don´t whatch music triggered like that, but I thought: if my friend... and it was "Work Shit Out". After the first 30 seconds I thought to listen to another "boygroup", but when they first started to loopify and playing with some well hidden jazz-chords, I started to realise, that it´s not another boygroup.... since that day, I am a big fan of Dirty Loops. Best greetings from Westfalia in Germany, Olaf 🙃😎
"Jazz, metal, funk...?" And then they go all gospel! 😆 Welcome to the limitless world of Dirty Loops! Loved the reaction, listening to it now, I´m sitting here laughing. Your surprise and enthusiam is good to see. ESPECIALLY since you are into metal... Dirty Loops really cross borders.
Three words dude. "Work Shit Out". Another showcase of their talent. All three get their moments to shine, you will definitely see more of the drummer in a fantastic solo.
Watch Work Shit Out. Jonah plays piano and keys simultaneously, Henrik shreds, and Aron will leave you on the floor with his solo. These guys are just so much fun, so GOOD, so musical, so talented! I'm 70, and I've never seen anything as good as these guys. They are my absolute favorite, I listen to them daily. And don't miss their credits, their sense of humor is hysterical. Aron & Henrik have been playing together since middle school. They were all at school together (the top music school in Sweden) but Jonah is a year younger, so didn't actually play with them much in school.
Henrik is endorsed by EBS amps in Sweden, hence the massive wall of amps in most of their videos. People even started making comments about it on their videos like: How many amps does Henrik need ? All of them ! etc etc . He jokingly turned that around though in the "World on fire" video where he's using only one of the smaller EBS amps with a ton of different mics instead !🤣
In contrast to the wall of speakers, you can watch their video "Breakdown". It starts with a fade-in of a mini bass box with 5 microphones pointed at it. 😅
Dude!! I'm sooo happy you liked it. They are a dope ass Swedish band. Such incredible artists. They always go off. They infuse so many genres of music and that gives their production such a unique sound. I absolutely LOVE them! Thank you so much for reviewing 🫰🏽
Yeah if you know anything about playing an instrument or music in general it'll take you about 30 seconds to realise that they're actually insane. As far as I know they're all studio musicians with pop or jazz degrees who were buddies before already and then started this band to have their own creative outlet. I can only describe their music like "imagine jazz and funk had a super talented baby and it wants to make pop music".
I love it when you nerd out over musical things! It really hypes up the reaction and I feel ya on it! This was different than I thought it would be at the start but in a good way! And his vocals are pretty awesome and that HIGH NOTE? Wow!!
These guys are just nuts... Coming from a family of bassists.. Henrik is my all time favourite (sorry Geddy... and Glenn (Hughes))... they are all so talented... Thank you to whomever it was that suggested it to John !! If Yoongi was Goth... and played bass.... Henrik hahaha
Dirty Loops is awesome. The producer of this song (and also mix engineer, and mastering engineer) is Simon Petrén. He's done most of Dirty Loops' projects. Simon Petrén lives in Seoul, South Korea, and he has composed, mixed, and produced a lot of Kpop and other Korean music in the last 7 years. He's worked on projects for several of the artists I'm going to show you, including... Sam Kim. In fact, you'll be seeing a Sam Kim song that Simon Petrén co-wrote and produced in two weeks. I'll be interested if you can pick out the connection.
I think the most mindblowing part of this song is finding out that literally ALL the vocals in this track are Jonah, the lead singer. Aron the drummer wrote these choir backing vocals super last-minute, then he and Jonah assigned each part a "character", and Jonah would distort his voice to fit part so it would sound like a full choir.
I was already a subscriber but now that you reacted to my favorite band, I wish I could subscribe again! These guys are awesome and everything they do is fire. I highly recommend your next selection from them is "Work Shit Out" but really, anything you pick from them you are going to fricken love. These guys have so much fun and it shows in all of their videos. Their last albumn was a colaboration with guitarist Cory Wong and his brass section and it is so next level. Have fun and I look forward to watching you go down this rabbit hole.
Now you've done it - you've opened up the rift into the dimension of Dirty Loops, you might as well go on through. Check out "Work Shit Out", "Follow the Light" (with Cory Wong), "Rock You", the list goes on. Welcome to the other side! 😀 Oh, and if you'd like to watch the drummer (Aron) and the bass player (Henrik) pretty much just jamming, check out their side project Songs for Lovers and "Bitten by the Kitten", and be sure to read the credits! 😂
John, great reaction video! I love to watch people -- especially other musicians -- discover, get blown away by, and fall in love with Dirty Loops. For me, it happened with their first-ever original song, "Hit Me" (check it out). FYI. Steve Vai plays on Jonah Nilsson's video, "Diamond Ring." And DL's newest video, featuring Henrik Linder on bass guitar, will cause you to need surgery. LOL! Have fun!
Welcome to the LoopHole! You'll find a bunch of crossover DL junkies happy to walk you through the amazement. This band is amazing everytime. If you keep on the quest, you'll eventually get to Breakdown, where you'll find the punchline to the wall of amps prank. I really liked your reaction, you went through the song, letting every new sound and scene talk to you and hit you in the face. That makes it very relatable. Keep on, we're listening
Single out any individual player in this band and my reaction is "Oh sh*t this is awesome!!!". Mixing nuanced and slick melody with aggressive in your face shredding is just so impressive. They are tight as tight can get. I can't believe I didn't hear about these guys until now.
Great reaction. Love the way this song makes you happy. IMO "if you can listen to Dirty loops without smiling, I don't want to know you". Their music is pure joy. These are incredibly skilled musicians who work their asses off to produce amazing music. Check out their song "Work Shit Out".
What a great reaction. Dirty Loops are one of a kind. Each of their songs are a different experience, no two are alike - except they're equally good. This was fun to watch. More pleeez 😃🙏. Thanks!
I tbink the bass amp stack is a joke… other videos they have 5 mics on a 15 amp speaker… this one, 7 monster stacks… all done in fun. Live he plays I think 1 8x10 maybe ..😊
OMG!!! Dirty Loops is my absolute fave!!! Their influences are definitely R & B and Gospel 🫶🏽 Their album Loopefied is one for the books! You should hear their song inspired by Stevie Wonder. I absolutely LOVE this album. I didn’t even realize they had released new music! I am in LOVE 💜💜💜💜
I like your reaction so much, and you are spot on about their abilities, and about the bassist and the drummer getting along well. Maybe someone will tell you about their student days, which explains it.
Seriously loved your reaction. We all had the same reaction first time hearing them. Beyond musically talented, and so fun to watch. Please keep going! Check out Work Shit out, Rock you, Follow The light (with Cory Wong). You cannot go wrong.
You've been Loopified dude. Three superior musicians. They have so many great tracks. Keep going, you can't stop now. Here's some I really love: Breakdown (super slinky, different kind of groove, vocal gymnastics and the fills by the bass and drums are sweet) Follow The Light (with Cory Wong, guitar player with his horn section) Work Shit Out (a foray into their jazz chops, has a great Berimbau part that opens the song and also comes back in strong later, and a killer drum solo) I could list more but, anything they do is fire, straight up fire. They don't miss.
Check out the entire catalog, my brother. They will change your entire relationship with music! Great reaction. Also, check out Songs For Lovers which is a side project from Dirty Loops. There's only 4 or 5 tracks...all on TH-cam. Enjoy!
Each member of this band is an expert in their craft. Add to the fact that Jonah Nilsson has a voice that rivals Stevie Wonder, this band is for real. Love everyone of their videos and hope they keep producing more! Love seeing first time reactions as this band is a breath of fresh air from all of the over synthesized and dubbed bands we are getting now.
I saw them live in London yesterday, they said it was the first gig in London they had ever done. If they don't do another soon I'll go to another city to watch them again. The band was fabulous; they played this song and it was astonishing how close they get to the studio sound even when live in a converted cinema in Brixton. All three attended The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, where they met, so they are all classically trained, including Jonas as a singer. Henrik's bass is unreal (he was originally a pianist and will talk casually about the use of Dorian mode in his riffs) and Jonas voice is even better live, standing in front of you with these incredible runs. Henrik's ever growing bass stack is indeed a running joke with the band and fans, as Bassgroover suggested in a comment below. They used a pretty normal setup on stage, and had a forth player on some songs playing the horns parts on keyboards.
Already said maybe but, welcome to dirty loops, i believe one of the best bands ever, more impresive... they sound the same Live!!!, if you want to blow your mind with the bass, search for the song **world on fire*** every single song from this guys is just a piece of art!! great reaction Bro, hope you keep reacting to them, cheers.
Every vocal you hear on this track is Jonah. He did all the vocal tracks (including the multi- layered choir stuff) himself, going so far as to imagine the different "singers" having different characters and vocal sounds. Henrik and Aaron are only vamping for the video.
I generally don't comment on YT vids, but if you want your mind blown further, check out their "Work Shit Out" video. Epic. And supposedly, the "wall of bass amps" is a joke taken to the next level. He would never actually use or tour with that much, but it "looked funny". :) but... seriously... the WrkShtOut video will demonstrate how dedicated and schooled these gents are. It's insane. Thanks for the video.
If you haven't heard / seen them do "Follow the Light" or "Work Shit Out", do yourself a favour and don't miss out. You won't regret it. Hell, anything they do is awesome!!!
Welcome to the DL rabbit hole dude 😀👍. You're in for an inspirational treat 😀. And yes, they have been working together since kindergarten kind of.. U should check out Work Shit out with DL 👍
I was fortunate to see them live for a showcase in NYC many years ago… met all of them. They’re the real deal. Super chill guys and live they are AMAZING. Just as tight live as you hear them on the recordings.
Top drawer, 5 star, two thumbs up, 10 out of 10...dude you crushed this reaction. I love reactions for a lot of reasons but when I see one like your's here to a song I frankly worship. Well it just doesn't get much better. Very much looking forward to your future reactions. And based on the tone of this one, I feel safe in predicting we'll get more DL from you. Again just a wonderful, fun reaction. Oh and Henrik's wall of speakers is kind of a running-one of many-jokes in the Dirty Loops rabbit hole. Dive in man you will love the journey.
Great reaction! 😂 Love it!! Yeah, they mix a lot...like Toto and Queen revisited...a little Michael, a little Stevie and all the greatest instrumentalists through history! 🥹 But mostly they are having FUN! ❤❤❤
Hey John, that was one fire reaction! This track is seriously NUTS, and it showed in how you listened to it, I loved that ☺️ AI? Yes, they must be some kind of artificial or alien intelligence -these guys are just too much! Thanks again to CheeryBaby for getting us this reaction ;) And you’re right with the genres, Dirty Loops are the original genre bending trio. Not that it hasn’t been done before, but the Loops do it special. They once said that everything they’ve ever listened to comes into the mix, and this would be a lot :) Jonah grew up on classical music as a child, with both parents in choirs and taking him to rehearsals from the start of his life, more or less. He has been singing in choirs all of his younger life and also has got an aunt who is/was a singing coach. So I guess he would’ve had a few singing classes in his day…. And he’s been playing the piano/keys, first classical and later jazz piano. There is a Korg video of him explaining how he harmonies that last part of that song, and his thoughts behind it, and all I hear is Chopin, Rachmaninov and Jacob Collier :) And yeah, he’s got frickin beautiful blue eyes ☺️ Henrik? He’s a boss on the bass. There is no Dirty Loops song where he doesn’t shine, but if you want to hear him play exquisit bass solos, go to (wait this is going to be a long list ;) “World On Fire”, or “Follow The Light” or “Turbo”, or any of their earlier covers and songs, such as “Dirty”, “Circus”, “Roller Coaster” or “Just Dance”. Mindblowing stuff, all of it. Also don’t miss “Where’s The Beat” or “Sayonara Love”. But really, everything Henrik does anywhere is mindblowing. There are a lot of other collabs between him and others on YT, plus interviews. Check out the one with him on bassmagazine.com/Songified/Henrik Linder, where he talks about the making and the evolution of their songs from this LP, including ‘Next to You’. I thought it was super interesting… Aron, the drummer, is mindblowing too, and I totally agree with what you said about his style of playing. He also edits their videos and comes up with some of the lyrics, the songs, verses and choruses. And so much more. Him and Henrik used to stay behind at music college after close, just to jam together and practice pocket for hours. They’re the tightest team, those two. They first recorded their songs from this LP, then shot the videos. For this they had to re-learn all their riffs and runs and improvised sections. And they just like having fun and taking the Mickey out of people. Hence the walls of speakers :) and their often funny credits. Can’t wait for another Dirty Loops reaction from you! Like others are saying, “Work Shit Out” HAS to be next, it has the dopest drum solo! 🔥 Oh yeah and I’ve smashed that subscribe button ☺️
I know, there’s just too much good music out there, and too many comments asking for reactions ;) but I’m patiently waiting for more reactions to Dirty Loops 😌 And am pretty sure that their track “Hit Me” would completely blow anyone’s sox off!! 💥 It brings the funk, the jazz, the gospel, and at the end, finally, the riff of all riffs… 🔥🔥🔥
….still waiting for that next Dirty Loops reaction video from your channel…. Maybe you’ve already binged on all of their stuff, but anyways, still living in hope ☺️👍🙏🫶
YEAH! Two of my musical worlds colliding, BTS reactor meets Dirty Loops! I adore both bands! You will never be disappointed in a Dirty Loops song. You can choose any song, but Rock You, Work Shit Out, Hit Me, Follow The Light, & Breakdown can get you started. You made my weekend! Jonah (vocals, keys), Henrik (bass), & Aron (drums) are three friends from Sweden who met in music school. And as you can see, they are all masters of their instruments. Side note: my other favorite group is the Beach Boys, so if ever you ever want to give me a heart attack, Jungkook, V, Jin, or Jimin, please sing some Beach Boys. Once on a v-live, V was playing "Please Let Me Wonder" in the background & I thought I had stepped into The Twilight Zone! Thanks for the reaction! 💜
@@melanieagento6554 Yas! This is my first Festa that I've known enough about BTS ahead of time, to be anticipating things as they come! 10 years! Borahae!💜
This is the best reaction I have seen to one of their songs!! You are totally there, hear it - see it! Welcome to the DL-world! So, so much great stuff here! 🙂Thanks! /New subscriber
A: I'm a complete and utterly unabashed Dirty Loops FREAK! I spend so much time spreading the news of their genius - and I can not go a day without my dose of these (gotta be aliens) gents from Stockholm! "Next To You" is made to blow minds. I'd suggest "Work Shit Out" as well as "Coffee Break Is Over", for your next freak-out and still you'd only be getting a taste of their vast TH-cam catalog. Love to see people like you with a different musical bent go nuts over DL!! B: If Lotta Wiklund shows up in your comment section, be sure to read everything she wrote as she's likely thee authority on these guys.
In an interview with Henrik he said Aaron (drummer) arranged the bass . . . what to play where and when. I don't know if he was joking or for real. And he said Aaron is least into music theory than he and Jona.
You should react to the singers Jonah Nilsson’s solo song ”Coffee break” but then also the Lucas (of kpop fame) cooperation on the same song. Jonah slays it in both versions.
The comment that usually appears under these videos are: "Dirty Loops is what happens when every person in the band is the best musician in the band...."
😉
Absolutely love your comment………SO TRUE.
I mean, you just summed it up right there. Period.
The Dirty Loops journey has begun
was all on its way a long time
welcome to the best thing
I'm proud to be from Sweden. Seeing theese dudes in concert very soooon.
Dirty Loops - Feat Cory Wong - Follow the light (crazy bass solo)
Oh my... hahahah the DL rabbit hole is deeeeeep John... Lets GO !!!!!
You are now loopified, once you have jumped into that rabbit hole there is no turning back. They are by far the most interesting music phenomenon entering the music scene in decades and I simply love it.

Welcome down the rabbit hole of Dirty Loops hehe
you just got Loopified, welcome to the tangle ;-) we got funk and games!
This is probably my favorite first time Dirty Loops reaction! The whole thing blows your face off! I love it!
Cannot suggest that song strongly enough... seriously.
It’s GOTTA be next!

Three Swedish guys that met at The Swedish Royal Academy of Music. ❤ David Foster is their mentor.
Foster used to have them signed. Now, since a few years, they’re on Quincy Jones’ management board-.
Dirty Loops' "Work Shit Out": listen and marvel.
again... cannot suggest that video strongly enough - it's insane.
By far this is the best reaction I've seen to DL. Pure joy. I act like this every time I listen to them.
That was just JOY & AWE!!! THX!
I love me some dirty loops 🎶🔥✨💯work shit out and breakdown is incredible 🎶more dirty loops please 🥰music is life ! 🎶
Even thou the video shows Aron on the microphone, with Henrik ”world aid”-listening his headphones, it’s all Jonah layered. Jonah all the way down.
Check out their version of Thriller. These guys make many musicians decide to just sell their instruments and get an office job.
Ohh I hadn't seen this! But great to see your reaction! 👏🥰😄💜
Dirty Loops are AHHHMAZING!!
Three fantastic musicians! All 3 are so good!
If you haven't heard / seen them do "Follow the Light" or "Work Shit Out", do yourself a favour and don't miss out. You won't regret it. Hell, anything they do is awesome!!!
Wonderful reaction. It was joy to see you discovering Dirty Loops 👍😁 Best greetings from Germany
Absolutely, a great fusion of sound.
Such an awesome reaction!😮
Welcome to the DL rabbit hole dude 😀👍. You're in for an inspirational treat 😀. And yes, they have been working together since kindergarten kind of.. U should check out Work Shit out with DL 👍
I was fortunate to see them live for a showcase in NYC many years ago… met all of them. They’re the real deal. Super chill guys and live they are AMAZING. Just as tight live as you hear them on the recordings.
Lucky you ☺️👍🔥
Top drawer, 5 star, two thumbs up, 10 out of 10...dude you crushed this reaction.
That goddamn blue eyessss yes!!!!!
And this is one of there milder songs. These guys are beasts. Check out "Rock You" and "Work Shit Out"
Hey John, that was one fire reaction!
This track is seriously NUTS, and it showed in how you listened to it, I loved that ☺️
AI? Yes, they must be some kind of artificial or alien intelligence -these guys are just too much!
Thanks again to CheeryBaby for getting us this reaction ;)
And you’re right with the genres, Dirty Loops are the original genre bending trio. Not that it hasn’t been done before, but the Loops do it special. They once said that everything they’ve ever listened to comes into the mix, and this would be a lot :)
Jonah grew up on classical music as a child, with both parents in choirs and taking him to rehearsals from the start of his life, more or less. He has been singing in choirs all of his younger life and also has got an aunt who is/was a singing coach. So I guess he would’ve had a few singing classes in his day….
And he’s been playing the piano/keys, first classical and later jazz piano.
There is a Korg video of him explaining how he harmonies that last part of that song, and his thoughts behind it, and all I hear is Chopin, Rachmaninov and Jacob Collier :)
And yeah, he’s got frickin beautiful blue eyes ☺️
Henrik?
I thought it was super interesting…
Aron, the drummer, is mindblowing too, and I totally agree with what you said about his style of playing.
Oh yeah and I’ve smashed that subscribe button ☺️
I know, there’s just too much good music out there, and too many comments asking for reactions ;) but I’m patiently waiting for more reactions to Dirty Loops 😌
And am pretty sure that their track “Hit Me” would completely blow anyone’s sox off!! 💥
It brings the funk, the jazz, the gospel, and at the end, finally, the riff of all riffs… 🔥🔥🔥
Dirty Loops, “Hit Me”:

🔥🔥🔥💥🔥🔥🔥
So cool! I love both BTS and Dirty Loops too! 😄💜🥰
@@Nixenji YEAH! Harmony Boys!
My absolute favs too!!! BTS and Dirty Loops!!! 💜💜💜
@@melanieagento6554 Yas! This is my first Festa that I've known enough about BTS ahead of time, to be anticipating things as they come! 10 years! Borahae!💜
Check out follow the light for a
Bass solo!
This was awesome!! Thank you for bringing this to my attention! I am blown away.
great reaction!
This is the best reaction I have seen to one of their songs!! You are totally there, hear it - see it! Welcome to the DL-world! So, so much great stuff here! 🙂Thanks! /New subscriber
Incredible rhythm section
8:31 before "it" happens lol 😆
Awesome Reaction! if you want a Henrik Linder Solo "Follow the Light" and "World On Fire" are great ones to choose! :D hope you do more! :D
Yes! ☺️👍
Subbed in hope you watch all their other hits!
Cracking me up dude!
Pure Gold!
Every A players favorite band, I’ve seen them live 4 times and it’s even better live .
She has, three days ago ☺️👍
Hahaha, way ahead of you. And thanks! 💚 I'm happy my nerdiness is of some use. 😁
👊🏼
Welcome to the world of Jazz- Fusion!!!! Welcome to the Rabbit Hole!
Great reaction👍🇸🇪
Welcome to the joyous world of Dirty Loops.
Love this reaction! If you're looking for a bass solo you should react to "Follow the light" by Dirty Loops. It's absolutely insane :)
