I share your thoughts totally. This new Delain is on another level. I saw them in London in April & they were the best I've ever seen them. Even the older songs seem to seem totally refreshed with this new line up. Diana & the whole band have so much warmth/ energy. Hopefully Delain will now get the big success & acclaim they deserve.
I wish I could see them in tour with Visions of Atlantis (they're doing a North American tour right now)

Hello.This awesome. I ben following Delain since the spring of 2013. Yes the new beautiful Diana has a powerful voice. When covid it 4 members quite the band Charlotte to.They with original founded member Martijn Westerhol he was left.He got back the original guitarist Ronald and Sander and got new Italian guy for bass guitar and Diana Leah. Diana is was born in Romania but lives in Italy. Martijn looked all over world for new singer.U need listen to their first video from Sept fall 22of Quest and Curse and Beneath was second song from Dark waters album out now. February they had Moth to a Flame video. Last month it was Qween of Shadows video.Check these one out of new album After the very first song Quest and Curse i knew Diana is a keeper. She very lovely and awesome voice. U know she was ready to give up on singing. Fans are in love with her and there going on tour and selling out shows. Delain comes to USA in September and I have vip ticket to meet and here in Phoenix, Arizona. Please try those other u be blown away. If u need questions answered i can help. I always loved this band since the first album and this new one is in my top 3 albuns from them, perfection.
I have the exact same reaction as you. Loved a couple of songs from Delain so far. Otherwise wasn't a big Delain fan. The Gathering was by far the best and this Song, Queen of Shadow and Moth to a Flame from the new album rival it without hesitation and I haven't even heard the full album. So I'm totally with you, this new Delain is pretty amazing.

One of my favorite albums of 2023 so far. Love it. She is fantastic.
The fact that the sound of Delain has not changed is that the departed musicians (except Charlotte) almost didn't participate in the creative process. The main creative core of the band consisted of keyboardist Martijn, singer and lyricist Charlotte and studio guitarist Guus (who has never toured and is little known to Delain fans, but is actively involved in the creation and recording of songs). Now everything remains as before, only instead of Charlotte, the lyrics are handled by Martijn's wife Robin (Diana also wrote the lyrics to two songs).

the song is one of the best on the new album BUT in my opinion the album and the song by Xandria, The Wonders Still Awaiting, is even better!!! Luckily, tastes differ. I really like the new voices of Delain AND Xandria. Feel free to compare it to Xandria and tell me what you think about it ;-)

What makes you think that?
Martijn didn't kick anyone out, they decided to leave on their own. However, before that, the instrumentalists of the band tried to make a coup d'état and kick out Martijn himself, but they didn't succeed. Charlotte left because she didn't want to work with a completely new line-up and thought it was better to start a solo career, which she did (At that time, of course, she didn't know that the members of the original line-up would return to the band).
I think the fact that Martin has maintained friendship with the musicians of the early Delain line-ups and speaks without anger about those who tried to kick him out, as well as bring in Marko Hietala and guitarist of Within Temptation to work on a new album shows that he has no problem with his relationship with colleagues.
