I was once at a VF show in Hollywood (1980s) and the drummer draped the snare over his head with a strap and started to walk off the stage while still drumming. The guitarist unplugged, and the whole band kept playing as they walked all the way OUT OF THE CLUB and on to the sidewalk. They kept right on walking and playing for about a minute before stopping and playing right there on the sidewalk. They played a bunch of songs for the fans who had followed them, and for a bunch of bewildered people.
and I think that's how Pat Benetar asked them to open for her in Milwaukee when she caught it outside of her pre-show. or the story goes. they removed it from Wikipedia because maybe it wasn't exactly like that.
I heard the british (during the punk scene) didn't embrace The Cars as they did in the USA. Just curious how they accepted the Violent Femme 10 years later in the 1980s

The VF are definitely a more original band. Also 1985 was not 1977
The femmes recorded an album, BBC live in 1991.
I don’t know if this is any indication that they were popular there in the 80s but it’s possible.
