The new 3-port catch can that STM currently sells has two -6AN fitings and one -10AN fitting. What is also nice about their new catch can is that you no longer need to reuse the PCV grommet like Chris showed in the video. You simply remove the PCV like Chris showed, then install the -10AN fitting that STM now ships with the catch can. Also, don't forget to cover the vacuum port on the intake manifold with a vacuum plug. Without this your car won't idle right. Other than that, Chris thank you so much for making this video. I specifically used your video as a guide to install my STM 3-port catch can onto my Evo 9.
Catch cans are literally meant to be as high as possible in the engine bay, ABOVE the cam cover. That way oil doesn't just drain straight down the pipes into the can. You want the oil to drain back via gravity and only the vapours remain in the can/out the breathers. It looks amazing, but it's a terrible design.

I recently tinkered with my catch can setup, -10 an on side and rear of the valve cover, venting. I placed my can next to where your mini battery would be, relocated battery to the rear. Keep the lines as short and free flowing as possible, similar to an exhaust. The difference in throttle response was immediate. No dip stick blow outs. My previous setup was in a similar place by the transmission housing and the throttle/rpm acceleration felt slower/heavier. Give it a try.
Great video bud. I’ve literally had mine for months now to install but was confused on the stock fittings in the valve cover. But what did you do with the hard line that was running to the back side of the cover just block it off?
Thanks bro! and yes the fittings is easy!! just pull them out and the nipple that's in the intake manifold block it off with a vacumm cap and secure it with a zip tie just in case!
I just got rid of my recirculating Buschur catch can as it was getting condensation and returning water to my oil pan. The new catch can I have is mounted near my mini battery. The port from the back and side of the cover go to the catch can and for the 3rd port I connected a vacuum line to it and ran it back to the port on the intake manifold. I’m not sure if it will harm the car doing it this way but I can always cap off the port on the intake manifold and add a filter to the top of the catch can. Either way the car seems to be running better.

I was thinking the same thing. For some reason those hoses have a big swoop and won't the oil collect in the hoses instead of draining into the can?

So the hose on the back rocket cover normally goes to intake manifold. Do you have to block the hose off on manifold

Did the catch can have 3 fittings on it but you only used 2 of them? It was hard to tell when it was bolted up.
What did you do with the 3rd port?
The catch can comes with a thing to close the third one! It’s like a threaded cap. The third one is just in case i need an extra vent to the block.
