Superb and what a nice gesture to your dad , I have a Halfords Carrera impel 3.1 and love it , cycled all my life now in my 50s with knee pain & electric bikes have given me freedom
I’m in my mid fifties and my e-bike has got me out more , 30 odd mile cycles are no bother, I try to keep the power on minimal settings to get exercise though. Great machines.
I have a heart issue and I got a carrera crossfire about 7 weeks ago, I have done just under 200 miles since I got it, I am going to donate my old bike to a charity that repairs them and send them off to someone who can use it.
Hi Dan Great video. I am 73 and love my e-bike I ride from 10 to 20 miles per day low pedal assist get about 50 miles per charge. A couple of things for your dad to consider is always wear a helmet, padded bike gloves ( just in case he does fall over) I wear mine all the time just in case. When charging the battery do not leave it unattended, and do not over charge. Overcharging is the main cause of battery fires. Having a fire extinguisher in the house is also a good idea even without an e-bike. Have him start off slow to get used to it and I’m sure that he will love it. Take-care and enjoy
Sorry but a fire extinguisher will not help in case of battery fire. In that care call the fire department. But I really never heard of OVERCHARGING causing fire. Never let the battery getting empty for weeks, this would be bad.
Great bike dan im 66 and use mine not only for a lovley day out but also flr wild camping.i put my saddle bags on and its great i can go much further and not have to carry the heavy bag .yojr dad will love it. Would be good to show your dad riding it.all the wingers complaining are just jealous or just against anything thats fun.great job dan
Thanks for stopping and showing us the metal sheep, thats awesome artwork! I'm tinking about getting an E-bike, I got diabetes pretty bad and just had a toe amputated so something like this would be great for me to go explore this summer.
Hi Dan, I bought a Cyrusher Ovia bike a couple of weeks ago. The reason I bought this bike is I have disabilitys one of the is I need knee replacements, and walking is very painful I'm 68 years old so having a step through bike is much easier. I get no pain whatsoever in the knees whilst riding this bike, and it is the comfort is second to none I have done around sixty miles up to now. The bike was expensive but it's worth it to me. My only other option for getting around was a mobility scooter however the bike is fine. I think what your doing for your dad is great and this says a lot about you Dan. Well done and thanks for the video.😊
@ianross04 Yes, I still have the bike. However, I fitted the throttle, which came with the bike. I only use it in. Order to start off from junctions, etc. I need my knees replacing, but they say I'm too young. I don't get keen pain whilst riding because there is no ompact on the joins. Anyhow if you get one of the bikes get out there & enjoy yourself.
I have the exact bike and love it using it off-road to go places wild camping I would never be able to walk due to my age. You will get about 25 miles on power mode and up to 50 on low mode. The big trick is to ghost pedal.
I made my own ebike and I absolutely love it I have heart disease so with the ebike I can get out hunting and going for a wild coffee again so it really has changed my life in a great way am sure your dad will really enjoy it and that is a great ebike nice video man
Hi Dan didn't know that about your dad give your dad my heartfelt gratitude and thank him for his service for this country and I hope he has many a pleasant journey on the bike

Personally I don't think e-bikes are making it lazy as you can always set the assistance to a lesser setting if you are physically fit, and also they allow people who otherwise couldn't get out to exercise at all, at least get some exercise. I like what they have done with all that scrap metal too. A good way to re--use and recycle stuff. Enjoyed this video. Was something a bit different. Would love to see you do more cycling vids from time to time. maybe borrow it back off yer dad for a bit😆
For the price it's a great bit of kit .... I paid around that for my mid drive kit so just the motor, wiring loom and 2 batteries .... so getting a whole bike essentially for free is pretty good in my book .... I believe it's a Bafang motor which is the same brand I bought ... and so far I've had over 2 years of flawless running .... hopefully you're Dad's gonna love it
Just brought one, mainly because I can not get my leg over the crossbar of my old e-bike, it is so much better than my old bike and I can use this one on rough ground and on the tow paths. So far I am enjoying cycling again.
Looks like a great bike! I think your Dad will love it. I like e bikes they’re great for lots of people. I used to work at a bike shop and we sold lots of them to many different people. We sold Wavecel helmets. They are on the leading edge of technology and they can protect you from concussion in addition to many other head injuries. They are the best investment. Cheers! Take care! ❤
Looks good for the money. 20 miles full speed will get 95% of people to and from work on a single charge. And for a leisure ride you don't have to gun it and can get 40+ miles out of it. Smashing. I'm not the target audience for E-Bikes (yet). I don't look at people who are fit and able as lazy for using them, they allow people to do things and not be knackered all of the time. But me personally, I enjoy being knackered! 🤣 I did Ben Nevis in November and as we were going up we were passed by a fella in his 60's gunning it up there on an e bike. We saw him 20 mins later on his way down and I asked him if he gets back down with any battery left and he said he only uses it on the steeper climbs (it's useless on the decants). He usually gets down with 60% left. As you're getting to the summit there's all of these boulders and we could see him just hopping between them like he was 18 years old, it was impressive. He told us he'd been doing it very frequently on his non electric for 20 years and he'd just gotten the electric last year "as it was starting to get a bit tougher".

What's the maximum speed can you get with this bick?
750 w like my ebike. Thought you can only have 250w? In UK. 750w awesome. They call these frames stepthroughs
