My first year of college I decided I want to shave my head one day and was so excited. My hair was down to the bottom of my ribs. My boyfriend at the time told me he would dump me if I did it, so I broke up with him and shaved it all off. Kept it shaved for a few months and met my now husband 😍

Dude my hair used to be straight when it was long and then when I buzzed it and it started growing back in it was curly and I honestly had no idea what to do with it. i found it rather annoying. lol.

You’ll look great! My grandmother had to cut her hair (didn’t have to shave it but it was a big change) and she was nervous, but she actually liked it afterwards. She now talks about getting it cut again because she sort of misses how easy it was. Good luck and keep on going! xx

The reason why i want to shave my hair off is because my “friends” wouldnt like it. I want to prove them that im not afraid of judgement and that i can love myself even with a shaved head.

Yes! It was so much less traumatic to just go ahead and shave rather than continue to suffer through it falling out by the handful.
Ashley Vaughn exactly how i felt. not only did the constant clumps of hair falling out urge me to shave it, but constantly covering it up and looking at myself with strings of hair was so bad for my mental health, and it was so nice to just get it over with!
My chemo was so strong that I was literally just sitting there and pulling the hair right off my head and it didn’t hurt at all probably because the.. cubicles of hair..? They were dead already. After chemo I kept my hair buzzed as a personal choice and it suits me much better. I recently shaved it bald the other night 😂😂

I dont want to sound pathetic but i have to shave my head due to leukemia because im getting chemotherapy and im soooo scared. These videos kind of made me happier. Should i record it? Idk if it's too late but if you put ice packs on your head during treatments your hair last longer. A lot of women in my family had to go through this some shaved some didn't both ended up bald eventually.
I'd love to shave my head, but I have a big crooked nose and an asymmetrical face, those girls just look great with shaved heads because they have pretty, proportionate faces
I have a not so pretty face and I shaved my hair! Honestly just live your life and do whatever you want. Hair grows back and nobody can tell you that you're wrong if its something you wanna do! Go for it!!!

i have all that plus a double chin and i've shaved my head a few times. it grows back faster than you think and its so fun to rock a buzz cut.. i always got compliments even though the first time i did it, i was scared i'd look awful, but it's all about owning it!! confidence is key!!

Shaved my pixie cut in December. It was so fun. I would recommend it to anyone. My hair was damaged from dye and now I've sworn off dye forever. I haven't seen my natural hair since high school and its so nice :)

I hadn’t seen my natural hair colour since I was 11-17, so not too long but it was SOOOO damaged and in 3.5 years I haven’t dyed my hair once or even thought about it

I shaved my head and donated it last year; I plan on growing it out as long as I can, shaving it, donating it, and then repeating. The only thing that made me doubt that I liked my hair shaved was all the stares I got in public, but I decided not to let that stop me❤
probably because white supremacists and lesbians tend to shave their heads a lot, not saying that you're either of those things I'm just saying society likes to put people into boxes, classifying them by stereotypes and if you're just a straight, not racist person with your head shaved it confuses their simple little minds. Also, its not very common for women to shave their heads unfortunately so you're deviating from social norms, making you socially deviant. I'm so glad to hear that you don't let these people stop you from shaving, and its so nice that you donate your hair! we need more people like you in the world.

Same here, but it must have been the tattoos and piercings that stopped people from bugging me and staring, almost as if someone that "looked" like me would do something like that. Never got stared at or questioned. Almost a year, almost at 6 inches!

Ever shaved your legs? I tried it an it was heartbreaking the amount of hair i shaved.. the years of hair growth were all deleted in a sec.

I actually did this last winter. I was going through a rough patch and my hair was all damaged. I hesitated a lot but what pushed me was that someone said to me that I didnt have the guts to do it. So I did it and it was one of the best feelings ever. My hair has grown back I went through all the hair phases. No regrets
I got a 5 inch cut off my hair.
Went to school next week.

I've always had really long hair (like, to my butt) and in college I chopped it into a pixie cut. I felt like a brand new person and started speaking up in my classes, going to the gym, basically all the things I felt too insecure to do before. A drastic change gives perspective--you aren't your hair, you aren't who you were yesterday, you can change your life at ANY moment. It's scary, but it's such a freeing mentality.

I had cancer so I took the plunge and not only got my dream haircut (a pixie!) but then I ended up having to shave it off because it was both falling out and incredibly painful. My fiance did it for me and we recorded it and while it was super depressing as to why I did it, it was such a great feeling and I never want long hair again!

I did the same, made a cute lob and then shaved it all off even if there was a LOT of hair left, the whole process with loosing hair was kinda hard. i shaved my head due to a mental breakdown and i still feel awful about it. it's been 5 freaking months and i still can't go out without wearing a beanie (which now isn't that bad because it's winter and cold af). my hair has grown a bit but i still can't style it to make look better and i _hate_ how i look.
but again, i'm glad that i did shave my head because it was my dream. and i look more masculine (i love it), so i havw decided that i will grow my hair but still keep it more on the shorter side
I kind of know your feelings, I cut it at home horrible short after a really long hair that was already on my butt. The hair dresser had to fix the mess to make it look kind of acceptable. It took me over 8 years to have it as long as I had it then. I guess what make it such a bad experience is the emotional contest around it. The girl on the video did it because they want it a new look. When I did it I want it to lose the last I had of my identity... I was very depressed. I moved to another country and I have been never the person I was on my birth place since then... I has been hard to accept the new person I am now... but on the good side hair grows and It will be as long as before If you want it ... keep there and be strong. You are much more than your looks and that also allow people to appreciate you more for who you really are.

I actually shaved my head on the first day of this year!
Long hair is a huge deal in my culture, so shaving it was EXHILARATING and LIBERATING!
It's hair, you guys! It grows!

when i was 11, i shaved my head. It wasnt a mental breakdown, i wasnt to that point. I watched stranger things once. Lets just say my 11 cosplay was pretty on point.

I've had to shave my head 2 times in the last 5 yrs. due to having breast cancer, twice... At first it was hard, because I had long curly hair... But, I enjoyed not having to spend all the time on my hair... Especially when undergoing treatments. Now it's growing in, and I'm having fun with having short hair, and I might not ever go back to it being long?!

I shaved my head a year ago and everyone said it would look like trash. STILL DID IT ANYWAY. (It looked awesome) I agree with the fact everyone should try shaving their head at least once in their life.

Ive always wanted to shave my hair, but I got a sickness where for a week, all scars I got got infected easily, so I have a lot of scars on my scalp because I got in a fight and someone hit me with a bat on the back of my head, so..
