Plumbing differently check for the new video

  • Recently I #installed a very nice sink with a sprayer. I installed the soap dispenser to hide the hole for the detached sprayer. The reason for the plumbing video is I finally found a good deal on a #portable #dishwasher for this small house. The washer has a quick connect that fills and drains from the same fitting that was quick connect to the facet. After a lot of research I decided that connecting to a washing machine faucet would work best and a 1/2” pt quick connect male adapter. Leaving a useful utility source for hot water and the easy way to connect and disconnect the portable washer without messing with the aesthetics of the new faucet previously installed. Otherwise this is a lot of changing on the dishwasher and the permanent removal of the $200 quick connect adapter which is easy to use. I will add a video when the machine is ready to use.
    Some other great uses for the extra water #spigot is #bunn coffee maker, line to fridge ice maker, in house #garden sprayer
    Ok there is two or three videos of mine on this in the same playlist. The newest is everything in one. Part numbers etc.

      I’m so glad because I looked before making the video and no easy answers. I knew it was out there and when I solved the puzzle made the video so no one else would have to struggle. You may want to add large rubber washers to the covers and a dab of lock tite to the threads mounting it to keep it better in place they can be found also at Lowe’s.

      Nice video. Just wondering how did you hook up the drain?

    • @Wiretalker
      @Wiretalker  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fitting I have was already part of a drain fill connection the drain pumps into the sink. If you do not have the dual fill and drain connection then you must put an elbow to hang on the sink that the drain line is plumbed to keep water in the sink that pumps out of the dish washer.

      @“remii” I have 2 videos on this project. Inside the comments and in the videos are parts numbers. The parts are available for the large and small quick connects. The reason I made the videos was the hassle of figuring it out and finding parts. I found parts at lowes and ace hardware. I think you can also get parts from Amazon. But figure out which adapter you need large or small. Most good hardware stores carry both.

    You my friend may have just saved me. I just bought a new house with a pull out faucet that I love and soap dispenser but it doesn't have a dishwasher. I have been desperate to find a way not to get rid of my brand new dream faucet and still have a portable dishwasher. I'll keep you posted if this works.

      @@Wiretalker it was so long ago, but the helper was an older gentleman. If I recall correctly, he thought it was odd but when I explained what it was for and how I intended to use it he thought it was pretty cool/smart. Also I have a question for you. Do you think this set up would work if I installed the shut off valve underneath my sink and used it as a drain line? Currently the set up I have has me draining directly into the sink. And with the force of the water coming out of the line, it splashes off the sides of the sink, over the edge, causing water damage. I temporarily solved this by shoving the hose into the smile of a scubdaddy and shoving it in the drain, it effectively prevents back splash but I was hoping for a more permanent and practical solution. Any thoughts on what to?

      It worked great and still does. Only change was a gasket out of composite gasket material from auto parts store or some silicone allowed to set before tightening the chrome ring is needed. A little medium Loctite on the nut underneath to keep it snug. Hope that helps.

    • @Wiretalker
      @Wiretalker  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CashTheRealest most portable dishwashers have a 2 hose system the hot makes a connection by a valve. The drain exits the connector 180 degrees. In a tap on a regular sink that drain would be straight down. In this setup it flows into the sink flowing horizontally steady but without enough pressure to leave the sink. When the connector is on the drain faces toward the front of the sink toward you.

      If you have the regular faucet the part with the screen screws off and they make an adapter for dishwashers but there are three types. You could buy all three and return the two that are wrong.

      Good question the sprayer is the valve so the only way that works is if you are not unhooking or moving the dishwasher. Not an option for me. Also my sprayer is on my faucet the hole I used was a soap dispenser.
