    Okay got a new laptop for Christmas. Gonna make this bag. I thought I wanted to quilt the bag, but I think the thicker form will be better.

    Thanks. Nice, clear instructions. I really like how you adjusted the lining for the foam and how you inserted it.

    Hi, thank you very much for the guide, it's perfect
    I wanted to know how to adjust it to the size I want.
    For example, I have a 15-inch computer - how much to add to each length

    • @RachelDerstine
      @RachelDerstine  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just be sure to add extra 2” to width on each side. You can easily trim it down after you finish if it’s too big.

    What a great Tutorial Rachel! Please let me know how much material is needed for a 💻 Macbook Air ( 13” x 9” x ,1/2” high) because yours is to big, how much more for seams (about 1 1/2”) additional per side? Please help as I love your model is exactly what I want. Thanks for your time, it’s Mónica from La Paz, Bolivia 🇧🇴 South America.

      I would just take 1.5" off the dimensions I gave you. It's important to keep it pretty wide so that your laptop can fit easily at the zipper opening. So try these dimensions:
      Main Fabric: 1 - 10.5"x15", 1 - 8"x15", 1 - 2.5"x15" (maybe make this piece slightly bigger- 2.75"?)
      Lining Fabric: 2 - 10.5"x 15", 1 - 8.5"x15", 1 - 8"x15"
      Zippers: 2 - 15" zippers
      This should result in a finished product of 10" x 14.5"since your seams are only .25". Let me know how it fits. Better yet, send me a picture! Happy sewing!

    Hi, Rachel! I love this design! I’d like to adjust the sizing to fit an iPad air, which measures 9.75” tall, 7” wide, and about .75” thick. I’m new to sewing, so do you have any tips on how to change a pattern size to fit individual needs? I’d hate to guess and still have it wrong. Thank you!

    • @RachelDerstine
      @RachelDerstine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try this:
      Outer fabric: 1 - 9" x 12"
      1 - 5.75" x 12"
      1 - 2.75" x 12"
      Lining: 2 - 9" x 12"
      1 - 6.25" x 12"
      1 - 5.75" x 12"
      2 - 12" zippers with long pulls
      Bosal In-R-Form - 16.5" x 11.5
      Hope that works.

    I really like this pattern. What laptop size it will fit?

    • @RachelDerstine
      @RachelDerstine  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Lenovo Yoga C740 14” fits in it with plenty of room. Add 2” to the dimensions of your laptop for a good fit.

    Hello, this laptop bag is exactly what I was looking for, the only extra thing I need on it are handles, at what point should they be added on?

    • @RachelDerstine
      @RachelDerstine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      So glad you like it! I would add them when you stitch up the side seams. D rings and swivel snap hooks would be nice for the handle.

    Hi, im planning to make a sleeve for my graphics tablet. Can you help me with the fabric dimensions? The tablet is 17.5" x 11" x .5". I should add 2" for the width and 1" for the height?
    I dont plan to put a pocket to protect the screen

    • @RachelDerstine
      @RachelDerstine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, that sounds about right. Add 2" to the longest dimension and 1" to the shorter one. You will not need the second zipper and just make the plain front and back.

    Hi Rache, this is Mónica again, my sister needs me to do a Padded Cover for her Laptop, the measurements are: 15 1/2” width, 10 1/2” depth and 1” height. My question is in the big outer fabric how much more because it’s height is 1”, how much more do I add? The second outer piece is less than the first one by how much? since the third piece in your Tutorial is 3 1/2” x the width. How much more for each. Thanks for your help and I will send you the pictures when I finish. This Lenovo IdeaPad is much bigger and higher than yours. Mónica from Bolivia 🇧🇴 🙀

    • @RachelDerstine
