That's what I loved about Al. On the surface he seemed rotten and may have given us the impression that he was a loser who hated his life and wife/kids, when in fact he was a scrupulous, hard-working, loyal, and loving father and husband. He was definitely not your average American man, and the Bundys were not your average American family.
It's a fictional show with comedy, extremely well written situation comedy... not real life... that's the trap that people got into by making "reality shows".

I remember the last episode of Buck, originally was called Mike, but, then person that raised him and trained him, Steven Ritt, renamed him to Buck, it was dedicated to Buck, a sign said he was going to enjoy a well deserved retirement, later I learned he was 12 and he could no longer see hand signs well, Buck then sadly passed away the next year, the cast also loved him and particularly, Buck and Ed O'Neill loved to hang out with Buck and Buck also loved him back, that one time, Buck interrupted a scene just because he wanted to be with Ed.
I completely understand the urge to play with hundreds of thousands of dollars if I'm left alone in a room with it, but not allowed to leave with it. Then again I'd be sorely tempted to try.
Its hard to tell how much of that is Ted McGinley's fault---the show was still hilarious with him on for a good 3 seasons or so, then the writing went right off a cliff, and everybody's characters suffered.

Looking back on those carefree days when I hung out with my mother at work, I could’ve sworn that she had a tall cabinet full of money in her office, much like where Al Bundy was pocketing. She was the Human Sources manager of a corporate firm, and was responsible for the petty cash. When I told her what I remembered about her office, she looked at me like I was crazy, and said that she kept the money in a cash box. It’s amazing how everything seems so exaggerated from a child’s point of view.
Without the inflation created by certain 2 parties, that have parties in a house located in the northeast and that it's white, because they print and print certain bills without caring about recovering the value of it, nor the consequences of doing that, 1 million was more back then for the average person, that's why in the 90s and 80s the plot was always getting that million and being rich, but, of course, it was assumed you'd get the whole million without paying taxes, in such case, you'd get way less.
LOL I thought the same, but then have to remember this is the 80's I think, so I would think that it would be easy to make an error the way they operated on mostly manual records and logs and paperwork and not digitally now. Nowadays it'd be easy to figure out or prevent an error like that on computer systems.
I almost had the same opportunity happen at my bank, I could of taken a just two duffles of cash and ran off and probably never been seen again. No weapons nobody would of got hurt, but I didn't, if I knew for a fact I wouldn't get caught I'd do it, but it's that 1% chance and I'd be in prison for a little bit.

Well I spent it all in a month then won ,$15,000 and easily spent that in a month. Then won a bunch of smaller jackpots less than $5,000. Well it's all gone and I'm right were I started a year ago. Behind on all my bills and working OT to catch up. Fast money is nice, but it doesn't last. And even at 1 billion dollars I don't think it would be enough because you will never have peace
