    Nice review. We have one just like it and love it. Manual windows and door locks took some getting used to. Wish Jeep had added an interior lock switch for the rear hatch. Other than that, no complaints. Thanks.

    I honestly wanted automatic windows I never thought I would buy a car that didn’t have power windows but after running numbers on a few I got a deal on a 2023 wrangler sport with crank windows. It was in the lot for 90 days so I got 5k off the sales price. It dropped my payment significantly. I feel like an authentic keep owner now and the crank windows don’t bother me as much now. $29,995 price is for the manual transmission? Automatic transmissions add an extra $2500.

    • @MattTheCarguy
      @MattTheCarguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Jeep makes it more complicated than that. For 29995 (2022 model year) you get base vehicle with 3.6 Pentastar. In order to get the automatic transmission you first need to upgrade the engine to either 3.6l with Etorque ($4000) or 2.0L ($2000).
      BTW for 2023 starting MSRP is 31,195

  • @user-cj7dv2kc6d

    • @MattTheCarguy
      @MattTheCarguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course, what i meant is that there were two upgrades as far as the powertrain.
      1. Upgrade the base 2.0 to 3.6 pentastar
      2. Upgrade of standard manual transmission to automatic.
      May have worded it wrong.

      @@djkenny1202 you can't legally negotiate the delivery fee off the bill of sale, just like you can't negotiate the doc fee off the bill of sale. dealerships can't remove it, it would be illegal. you can, negotiate the corresponding amount off the price of the vehicle, if you're able to do so.

      @@MattTheCarguy You’re right about that. I paid Carmax $29,988 for a 2015 Wrangler Freedom, that was low mileage and in showroom condition this past July. I priced a new 2022 Wrangler Freedom with similar options and it listed for $47,000.

    • @larrys9879
      @larrys9879 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MattTheCarguy Actually, I downloaded the original sticker price for the Jeep I bought off the Jeep website. The original sticker price was $33,000 in 2015. The actual depreciation is $3000 from the original sticker price, and that was probably negligible back in 2015.
      I was aware that Carmax inflates their prices, and I did a check for the Jeeps ACV and that indicated the Jeeps ACV should be around $26,000. I had a particular criteria for what I wanted. One owner, no prior damage or accident involvement, locally owner, no evidence that it had ever been off road, and all original with no modifications or upgrades, car fax report clean, and proof of servicing record.
      This Jeep had all of that. I searched the internet for a couple of months looking for the right Jeep. I looked at well over 500 Jeeps from all over the country without finding what I wanted. Then one day this Jeep popped up and it happened to be at a local Carmax. What were the odds of that happening? I called them and got a hold put on Jeep. I hadn’t bought a used vehicle since the 70’s. As soon as I saw it I knew I was going to buy it.
      I willingly overpaid for it because I knew the odds of me finding another Jeep that met all my criteria was slim and none. It is in showroom condition inside and out. My grandson is a mechanic and he’s helped me turn it into a parking lot Princess. We changed all the exterior lights to LED’s with halo headlight and fog lights that are connected into the turn signals. We added a brake light ring behind the rear tire, added running boards and mud guards.
      It’s my toy, admittedly an expensive toy, but just a toy none the less and I love driving it.

    just wondering if any jeep owners can let me know.. what do you do with your hard top( where you store it ) if you take it off? I saw a cloth top and thought it was nice looking. do I really need to hard top ?? I don't have anywhere to put it !!

    • @MattTheCarguy
      @MattTheCarguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess it depends on where you live. I have similar dilemma with my hard top. If you don't need it you can sell it but there benefits of having it. it is definitely quieter and has better insulation than soft top.

    • @larrys9879
      @larrys9879 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t take my HT off, but the 2 most popular options are inexpensive garage ceiling pulley mounts. They work great and are inexpensive. You park your Jeep under the hardtop. This method usually requires 2 people to lift the top, but 1 person could do it. The downside is rigging the pulley system on the ceiling of the garage.
      The other option is expensive costing approx $1000. Those are metal lifts on wheels. The lift is pushed under the top while it’s still on the Jeep. One person can remove the top easily. The apparatus easily lifts the top off the Jeep. The front of the Jeep easily fits under the apparatus when it’s parked in the garage. The cost of the device is it’s only negative.
