I did this exact thing on my 2023 C8 as I live in Ontario Canada. Ugh the darn front plate rule! But get enuff attention by the police so figured I would reduced the reason to pull me over. I used (4) self taping black big headed Philips screws. Drilled small hole in each square protrusion. Reason for that is to secure plate from wind deflection and wearing the plastic. Great video ! I thought this was how you would get off the front piece but was not sure. Going to paint the Corvette letters and put it back on. NO front plate needed here in FL. Gave you a thumbs up and a sub. I hope you reach 1,000 subs. You are close!!!
Front plate is mandatory here in Chicago and suburbs, but I've only got stopped once and didn't get a ticket. Lady cop just said she knew why I didn't have a front plate. Lol
Good that some cops are reasonable. It’s required in Texas too, but I haven’t installed mine. Had a C6 for several years and never had a front plate on that either. Fingers crossed I don’t get pulled one by a hard ass, but if I do, this seems like the best solution.
Thanks for your simple solution! It is a shame that the front end styling of my C8 is compromised by the mandatory front plate here in Hawaii. It seems that enforcement here is fairly lax, so I hope that I can remove it until my next annual safety inspection requires that it be mounted.
Here in hawaii also.. im prob. taking the plate off, and will prob find a mount that screws into the recovery hook location to put the plate on for safety checks.
Nicely done. That doesn't look bad at all for having to have a plate. Idaho also has the front plate rule, though, I seem to see Corvette's roaming around everywhere that never have them. lol
License plate screws are 1/4" by 3/4". You can get them as they are a standard from the auro parts store. A 3/16" bit going 3/4" deep is all you need. Hope this helps.

Supa cool plate. I agree, this is the best way to mount a plate on a C8. A slim black frame and smoked cover would make it look even better with your black paint.
I actually bent it over an old car battery I had near by - any sharp edge should work. I meant pilot holes which I made with a small drill bit in the plastic. Then I just used the normal license plate screws to attach.

The holes are under the cover so if you remove the plate and place the cover back you will not see the holes.
