Today on our 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, we're going to be taking a look at the Rampage Replacement Door Handle. Not only is it going to add curb appeal to the vehicle, but it's also going to add style. It's going to replace your factory door handle, and what's going to set it apart from your factory door handle, it is constructed of solid metal, where your factory door handles are more of a plastic. These are going to come in black or chrome depending on your style. Unlike the factory ones, they're going to have a nice design on them. Our factory ones, if you see, they're more of a flat style.
These are kind of rounded on the inside here, giving you a lot more room, hand space. For instance, like in the winter time if you have a big pair of gloves on, you have plenty of room to reach back in there and grab onto that handle.So they're going to come with new mounting hardware, but they're going to fit in the factory holes in the door. So we're not going to have to do any welding or drilling to get them installed. To start our installation, we need to remove this access panel. You're going to have two clips here on the side, you're going to pry from the inside here, out.
And you're going to pull it out like that. Watch these tabs here, because you can break them off. Next take a flat head screw driver, this top clip here, this red one, we're going to pop that back like that. We're going to pull that off. Next we're going to pull out this lower rubber plug.
That's going to give us access to this lower nut, and we'll take a 5/16 socket to remove that lower, and upper nut. Make sure you're holding on to your door handle when you get your last one off, so it doesn't just fall out. Then we're just going to pull our old door handle off.Next we'll take a T10 star bit, we're going to remove these three bolts on our factory handle. Just like that. And we're going to take our new one, we need to remove this clip here.
Phillips head screw driver to remove those two screws. Then go ahead and put my new spring on, put it into place. Then go ahead, and we're going to reinstall the three bolts that we took out. You're going to have two rubber gaskets on your old handle, you need to remove those, and install those in place on our new handle. We're going to take these screws here, and we're going to screw them down in place. Flat head screw driver right on the top, tighten them down, do the same thing here. And with our new bolts, you're going to have a now unlocked nut, and a flat washer. So you're going to make sure you use those.Then we're going to set it right into place of our old one. Now I just reinstalled the two factory nuts that we're on there, onto the new posts. You just want to make sure you reinstall this rod, lock that clip into place, and you can see it's all working like it's supposed to. Now we can reinstall this panel here, and we're ready to go.That'll do it for our look at the Rampage Replacement Door Handle, on our 2009 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.
