The world in 1987 wasn't ready for this lightning in a bottle collaboration. We are still struggling in 2024 to understand the magnitude of this work of art. We know it's beautiful but it hasn't been fully appreciated yet.

Phil Joanou's film of this U2 tour never seemed to gain the recognition it so richly deserved. The BB King episode, and the one filmed in Harlem for Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For, are brilliantly captured tapestries of very special events.

B.B.'s rip into the solo at 4:08 sounds so awesome there are no words. He plays two notes and owns the room. He's unbelievable.

Way too humble for his talent. There are recordings, especially from the 50s, where he's playing chords very well.

What a great song, and a fantastic group of highly talented musicians. I love the legendary BB KING. I saw the movie in 1987, I think, when it was in theaters. Those were really cool times.
I can say I was fortunate enough to catch his last tour. Open air concert and a slow nasty rain but me and my 8 year old son stood fast. I wanted my son to see a legend and he did. Rest in peace BB and thank you for a great show

Had the great fortune to see BB in concert about 30 years ago and he SMOKED. He also had Jr Wells and the Alligator All Stars with Koko Taylor opening AND Buddy Guy. That was one hell of a show. We actually had to leave b/c BB just kept playing - I heard later he went to about 2 am. One of the coolest things he did was have little kids in the audience sit with him on the stage while he played a bouncy blues number for them and gave them all guitar picks. Class act.
I was a little kid at a show of his in 2001, I think, and got a guitar pick 🥰

This one's for Michele -- remembering when we saw the test screening of this movie at the old Sherman Oaks Galleria and found out afterward that Bono, Edge, Adam & Larry had snuck in after the lights went down to watch from the back of the theater. I love U2 but the BEST concert I saw was B.B. King. He and his band were so on that night it was a level up from most other bands. No disrespect to U2 and Rush who were the bands I grew up with; this was something magical.
