I did have a difficult time understanding the transition on R2 for the 10 DC and if I would start the 18 DC right after (making it 28 st in between the next elephant) took a few tries b/c I wasn't ending with 10 DC like it states on R2. But got it worked out. The written pattern w/ the graph does help. Im a visual person so that really helped me understand it better. Highly recommend purchasing the pattern w/ the graph if you are struggling.
Very cute pattern. I tried to purchased the pattern and it says we’re taking a break. When can I get the pattern? I would like to make this pattern for the new arrivals in my family.
I made a total of 134 chains at the very beginning, 132 +2. I have a total of 4 elephants on each row using a #3 yarn with a 4.5mm hook, and it came out perfectly. I think I could have only made 3 elephants per row now that I'm looking at it, it would have been a perfect size for a baby blanket. It's a little wider than I wanted it, but that's my fault 😏
Hi I found this really easy to follow but after I finished row 14 it doesn't look like elephant maybe I should use smaller hook than what yarn says, it's king cole comfort Aran calls for size 5mm hook 🤔.
You can try using a small hook if the stitches looked a bit stretched out because filet crochet patterns look better with a tighter finish stitches. So going with a size small hook always looks better. But you can always try making small swatches using different hooks and then start the patterns. Thank you so much for trying out the pattern. Stay tuned for more patterns 🧶❣️🙂
Love the pattern! If I wanted to chain 2 skip 2 instead on the chain 1 skip 1 sections how much would that change the pattern or would that totally mess it up?
It wont mess up if you calcute the stitches properly. But that would look good with finer weight yarn only. If you are using a sport or worsted weight yarn, ch2 gaps will look quite big.
@@Crochessica I'm using Lion Brand Mandala. I'm not sure how to calculate the stitches properly for that since each row is going to be a different ammout that needs to be added. Do you know how to calculate it by chance?

The pattern is lovely but I’m getting very confused!! I did 101 for my first row for a total of 99 DC. For row 2 I did my 18 dc, ch1 sk1, 1dc x2 then ch1 sk1 and did 18 more dc and repeated across. I have either too many or not enough stitches at the end of my row and am very confused. Is it supposed to be 18 stitches between each block on row 2 or more? I don’t understand

No, ch2 does not count as a stitch. I usually use ch2 at the beginning of the row and work the very last stitch of the row as a dc2tog stitch. Note that you don't need to decrease. Sorry. Second question. According to the chart on your pattern, a foundation chain of 33, gives you one elephant. However, the blanket you show has multiple elephants. How many foundation chain did you make to make the 35 x 30 blanket? Or am I missing something?
You chain in multiple of 33 until you get the desired length of your blanket. If you are using a thinner yarn, you will need more chains, if you are using a thicker yarn you will need less chains. If you chain 99, you will have 3 elephants side by side. So for every 33 stitches, you have 1 elephant.
For some reason I can’t line up the holes. I have Multiple of 33+2 with 18 on each end. Once I get to row 3 it won’t line up. I hope someone answers my comment. Thank you

I don't have the written pattern, but don't need it if I keep following this stitch counting on this video. In the video it don't show the the last two stitches having to be stitched together to make this work out. She just puts a 2tog stitch in the last row. Can anyone help me in finding out what my problem is??
You are left with 1 stitch in the end because your foundation chain has 1 extra chain. You need to take the foundation chain in multiple of 33 + 2. So it should be 132 + 2.

For some reason I can’t line up the holes. I have Multiple of 33+2 with 18 on each end. Once I get to row 3 it won’t line up. I hope someone answers my comment. Thank you
How much yarn do you need to make this pattern, assuming you are using a medium weight wool as mentioned? I need to buy yarn, but don’t know how much. Thanks to anyone who responds.
If you are making a baby blanket, you will need around 1200 yards of medium worsted weight yarn
@@Crochessica Thank you. This really helps! I’m about to buy the yarn to make this blanket for my first grandchild. My mother’s favorite animal was an elephant, so this seemed ideal. My favorite animal is a cat, so that’s next!
Thank you so much 😌

Ooh, ooh! Thank you. Kitty! 🐱😁❤️
I'm confused...I started with the 133+2 stitches.... Worked the first row and got 133 stitches. While working the second row, I end up with 1 stitch left over... I've counted over and over.
@@Crochessica am I an idiot or what? Such a simple problem and I couldn't figure it out. Lol🤦🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ i did this on the calculator, came up with the correct number, and I still don't know why I thought to put one extra stitch. Lol Thank you so much!
My friends daughter is having a baby girl. The bedroom theme is 'Woodland creatures' your elephant is the closest I could find to fit the theme in this filet stitch. Thank you again.
No problem. I am always here to help.
That's great. Please share pictures of the finished blanket on Instagram if you can and also tag me on them ☺️
I am so glad you liked the pattern. Happy Crocheting 🧶😊
@@Crochessica I'm not on Instagram, but I will look into it 😁 happy crocheting to you too. 😁
your sound cuts out in row 6
How many stitches did you do for a baby blanket?
The stitch multiple is given in the written pattern.
How much yarn do you need ?
Approximately 1000 yards worsted weight yarn.
In your video half way through row 6 there is no volume. R7 also has no sound.
Yes ma'am. There was some technical issue while uploading. I will try and put audio for that part or if that doesn't work I will try and reshoot the video and upload.
Until then The pattern for Row 6 &7 is written on the screen and if you have any questions please leave a comment.
Happy Crocheting 🧶😊
Can I use a multicolor yarn or should I stick to a solid color??
Hi. You can use multicolor yarn as well but for me solid colors work more as they showcase the elephant motif better.
When we do the multiple of 33is that mean that's 1 elephant 🐘
Yes. 1 elephant motif per 33 stitches stitches.
Your puppy and snowman have no link to where you can purchase the pattern. Commenting is also turned off. Hard to buy if it’s not available. I know a few people who would like to purchase your different patterns.
where is the free pattern????
How many D.C. In between the elephants?
4 dc in between the elephants, but it varies row to row. You are at which row ?
Crochessica , thank you for your reply. I started with a chain the size of the blanket couldn't quick figure it out so I frogged it. I had planned to have six elephants across. I will start again. I Love this pattern
Thank you so much. If you want a written pattern of the blanket you can find it here 👇🏻

Crochessica , thank you again. I can't read the patterns , I have tried, but I either see the video and follow or wing it. I appreciate you.
Oh alright. I'll help as much as I can.
It's a really cute pattern, I hope you make it. Lemme know when you start, I'll help you wherever you need me to. If you are on Instagram then text me there or here on comments. :)
I was enjoying this till you stop taking xx
Cannot get a clear view of the written instructions on the video because it is being blocked by a different language of written instructions.
Sorry to hear that. Please turn off subtitles if you have turned that on. Let me know if that helps.
The video has no sound half way through row 6 😔
Where is free written pattern?
It says free written pattern but I go into and it cost
Its doesn't say free pattern. Its an inexpensive pattern. Totally worth it 🙂
It does say FREE I’m on the video and it says Free Pattern. Now if you mean your tutorial that’s in the video is free that’s one thing but when it says free to us it means its a free written unless written otherwise. You should be a little more clear when you put free on something
Yes ma'am. I mean the video is free and I have very clear Row by Row Instructions in the video which you can pause and note down to make the blanket for free.
In the description I have mentioned the link for the pattern which isn't free, but is an inexpensive downloadable PDF.

I purchased your pattern and regret it. It isn't what you display in your tutor, also your written pattern is not according to what I've seen in the tutorial.
So sorry you feel that way. The written pattern is accurate enough to make a lovely blanket. The tutorial was made before the pattern was released and i agree i have used a different way of starting the row, but it isn't wrong. You can follow the written pattern or the video tutorial and you will have a beautiful blanket in the end. If you have any questions you can message me here or on Etsy. I am always here to help.
Why can't I push the notification bell to let me know when you upload new videos?
Thank you
