I love both the possessed & mama bear barbarian ideas. I just recently wrote up a character concept for a mama bear possession barbarian, where the player character's backstory is that their mom died saving their life when they were little, and her spirit didn't want to leave her baby, so she lives inside the character and comes out as a possession-style barbarian rage whenever they're in danger. And maybe when they're on a bad date. 😅
The tattoo bard talent can be a feature for "Painter of Reality Bard" subclass with some "ink summons", "landscape illusions", "matter transformations" - maybe something like crazy 11-20 level group of talents for characters who can shake reality itself.
The name certainly does. But the concept does fit the bard, it just needs a better fitting name. Entertainment/art is all about influencing the audience's emotions.
I would say both the name and the mechanics outlined. Few of the effects outlined is about the Empath understanding anyone. It is more about magically altering peoples emotions. While a Bard certainly could do so in my mind it is less about them showing empathy and more about them giving an emotionally stirring performance. A Psion on the other hand could mentally connect with people on an emotional level. Sort of like Mantis in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Thank you for the membership, whoever was it from 😁 I wasn't even present during the stream, not sure how this works. I wish these could be happening on more humane hours than 3am though 😅Shame the Earth isn't flat after all, I guess.
11:54 Well theres always...you know... NINJA😅 I know the name itself isnt the best (and we can always pick a different one), but the vibes of the fantasy ninja would fit the Arcane trickster so well. Even the examples he gave the video about are strikingly similar to the substitution and shadow clone technique😅😅
For the elemental barbarian, is there a reason for limiting it to those damage types instead of allowing every other Elemental (or even Mystical) one? I get that some of those are a bit out there for a swirling aura type thing, but so far everything in the system has had that kind flexibility(Dragonborn, Spellblade, Cleric...)
I get the feeling it would be easier to understand what the specialist/ generalist subclass meant if its possible names weren't two words that are opposites of each other. I would think a normal subclass like wildfire Druid would be a *specialization* of druid, so specialist doesn't really fit as a good name for not taking a more niche subclass. Also i thought class talents were a level 2 thing so you can take your class talent then or otherwise do multi class talents. What if i picked my class talent at level 2 then did generalist at level 3? I already have that feature now, so i just pick any other talent? But maybe I'm misunderstanding and there will be >2 class talents to choose from at lv 2. I guess that could work but i feel like it needs a much clearer explanation once a good name is chosen.
@@mrdudemanguy1231 I hope this makes things make more sense. But these class talents would have a level three restriction on them, so you could not simply pick them up at level two. 👍🏼 There will for sure Be a better explanation once it’s time to actually release it. 💜
I think the wild magic could be a class talent for every class in the game, which would have different triggers. smaller than a full wild magic subclass and with no control but it could be so much fun. A rogue triggering wild magic on a sneak attack, a champion when doing a tecnhique... just something to spice things up
The possessed barbarian sounds like the overwhelming of the Volibear the eternal storm and how that Changes those that become Possessed, love to see it in a setting and also from a class perspective, on the shadow and darkness, I think it should be Important and not a almos everyone has darkvision so it's meaningless, darkness can be great for storytelling and that Shouldn't be trashed by a simple "ohh I can see that thing in the darkness so now there is no surprise" also painting bard sounds Like Bansky... and I honestly don't know how that would help in any way, except being quite cool.
Hey Coach! I have been a melee Bard main since 3rd Edition. Is the lack of a melee subclass because you feel the modularity of DC20 and the AP economy can create that class fantasy? My sadness will be immeasurable if I can't angry dance my way through the battlefield

I had an idea about a few things I would like to share, though you may already have made a decision on this and I missed it. The idea that the Druid does not need a Circle of the Moon as all druids should be able to do what it does had me thinking about Hunters and the Beastmaster. When I think about the hunter, the image of their trusty animal companion (hound) comes to mind. You often see teams of hunters with hounds tracking a lost child or criminal and so forth that I would ask if we really needed a separate sub class for that? I do like the idea of a Jekyll/Hyde barbarian as a subclass. It could be an alchemist based barbarian called the Mutagen barbarian. It could have some really wild concoctions that give buffs and temporary mutations to his body beyond the Hyde size change.
I don't know if this will get through to the coach, but I would like to propose a change to the Rouge Subclass Posioner, and instead call it Virulent. I think the subclass' potential danger is resonated more with this name.
I don’t know if this comment will be seen by a dev, or if it will be address later on in the video. But doesn’t the ability to make charisma your prime completely nullify the need for a bard to be a smooth talker? If I make a strength based bard, he will not necessarily be a silver tongued salesman. So I guess I’m questioning the idea of what a bard is in DC20. Is it about performance? Being someone with naturally high influence, regardless of if they use their muscles to influence or their words? Curious to see how this looks in the next version of the game.
@@NitoNine I love this question! It’s exactly the kind that I love to answer in life streams So my answer (that I can say in a TH-cam comment) A bar being a smooth tacos is a very small fraction of what makes a bar. You don’t have to have a high charisma to play the fantasy of a bard. Expressing themselves emotionally in artistically through their magic, buffing, allies, Ling enemies, etc.. The bar is getting a small rework in that nine, but even just looking at the class mechanics will show you what it’s like to play. And that revolves around needing a high charisma.
I just want to say from a standpoint of how to digest your content, 15mins of watching you interact with your live chat is a tall ask before getting into what your content is. When I’m listening/watching for your updates, I get lost waiting for sentences to come to conclusion. No hate. Love everything I’m seeing, just wish there were time stamps. 😅
Please at least consider making an alchemist class, like Pathfinder 2, and not only a subclass for Artificer. And if you still go with Artificer subclass, please don't make it only more or less only defensive with RNG-pots like DnD.
@@frejoh87 let’s just say me and you are 100% synced up on this! There will be an Artificer class with an alchemist subclass for sure and I won’t make those mistakes! 👍🏼
Nah nah nah, possession barbarian is 100% the Hulk/Bruce Banner or the Jackle and Hide fantasy. I don't know why you're squashing that. It can be Ghost related or Symbiotic related. More options more better.
Shifting earth barbarian for different damage types is so creative and visually rich 💯💯

The name certainly does.

because a super smart person is well known to be the type that understand peoples emotions... right?
I just don't see it ever being a psion.
@@alicepbg2042 I mean, a Psion would just read them outright, no need to "understand" them.

Generalist talent at 6: multiclassing into the same class could count, which lets you get earlier subclass features
