Getting this for my dad for Father's Day. When I was a kid I remember my dad had the whole 007 collection on VHS. He sold it at garage sale because our VHS player broke. This is a neat collection to bring that James Bond nostalgia for my old man.
It took me getting used to watching the old bond movies but once I got used to the way movies were made back then, I appreciated the movies more. Because my Bond Generation is the Pierce Brosnan-Daniel Craig era.
Great set for the price indeed. I actually do like the minimalistic black and white design, but they could have added a little sheet in each of the three sets. Including the official movie covers and a short storyline of each movie. But over all; great great set. 🙏🏻
Yeah a bit too minimalist and lazy IMO. Pity they didn't retain the slimline DVD style cases with individual coverart etc - even if it fattened the box by a few inches - heck if it's good enough to release a 12 in plus long TV series boxset, then WTF not with Bond?
No Bond compares to Sean Connery !! Roger Moore is a solid second. Dr. No is a classic. Moonraker is alright. If I could *only* pick 10 Bond films to keep / see again. Moonraker wouldn't be one of them (and no, my 10 films wouldn't be solely Connerys films). George Lazenby is by far the worst Bond. Next to Pierce Brosnan. Although I really like Goldeneye. Tomorrow Never Dies has a cool "villains concept" of using advertisement & the digital age to control the world but the film is mediocre.
Taz5961 It’s official, It was discounted, and moreover it was the UK edition due to a distribution mistake (I live in Italy, so they had to sell it at a lower price).
I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned that this set has missing a movie. Hopefully someone can get back with me regarding "Never Say Never Again" it seems strange that that movie out of all of them would be missing. The set included older and newer films than itself.
@@derekroberts6654 It's an issue because this Collection is made up of all the official EON Productions Bond films. Never Say Never Again is something like a bootleg or a cover album, in a music analogy. They don't have the rights to put it out together with these films
That's just about the most minimalist packaging ever, but I scored a good deal on it and to have all of them except No Time in the most compact set available is a plus. I had the Bond 50 dvd set and that was just too impractical. thanks

Was seriously contemplating getting this, but so far no sign of an updated NTTD release yet? Might hold off otherwise. Still glad I have my Special Edition DVD set (up to DAD) that had all the individual DVDs with booklets - something the later sets wouldn’t hold a candle too.

I actually had to send this and the Eastwood set back to Amazon because of badly scratched discs. I have not had a chance to review the transfers, etc. I might need to talk about that in a later video.
Cartoon Fortress Do you have the Panasonic Dp- 9000 4K blu ray player that costs $999.99? I don’t own an Xbox One X but I’m guessing that the Panasonic is the better choice to play 4K UHD blu rays. I would imagine it up-converts these Bond movies to 4K. Not sure.

I bought this on Amazon and I did not get that digital code for the two documentaries. Just wondering what was going on? I sent it back twice come out so I got and went through three copies. Wondering if you could tell me.
Sometimes those types of things run as a temporary promotional and sets will not include it after a certain point. Of course, I am speculating. It could be a different issue you’re experiencing. I’m sorry that happened. :(
Does this set come with all the bonus features that the original DVDS had and on the new special features why can't they just put it on the blue ray so you can have it with your movies like they have always done before with DVDS 📀💿

I would strongly advise visiting the Damn Fool Idealistic Crusader TH-cam Channel. He has provided exhaustive info on the release of Bond Films, and is clearly a mega fan. He has wonderful content in general.
Hi guys I got a questions does this collection has subtitles? I'm a great fan of 007, I watched it all when I was 13 and now I want to watch the whole series again with my girlfriend but we can barely understand what are they talking about, especially in the older movies 😂 (English is not our first language)
Let me ask you something. Why is the James Bond collection available in 2 different packaging? There is a version of this box where all movies are in one box. The other version is the one in this video where the movies are in 3 individual boxes.

Und die "Perlen" von Bond Filmen irgendwie lieblos in den "blauen" Kunststoff Hüllen liegen und die "DVD" Collection ist auch nicht viel besser, anstatt blauer Kunststoff halt "schwarzer" K.... Da lobe Ich mir doch die Collection die Ich mir heute (31.01. 2020) gekauft habe... Diese kann man wie ein "Buch" aufklappen und dann wie B. Seiten umblättern pro Seite jeweils 2 DVD's Mit Goldenen Lettern anstatt den schlichten weißen der Blu-Ray. Collection.... There is a decent range on these discs. They range from having English, Spanish and French audio options with English and Spanish subtitle options to other films in the collection which have audio options of English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese and subtitle options of English, French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish. So, it really differs depending on the disc. Thanks for the question! :)

NSNA is not part of the official Bond franchise. And NTTD you can buy seperate of course. There is a Blu-ray version with two discs inside. With all kinds of extras etc. I'm almost certain that this second disc wouldn't make it into a new boxset, so buying NTTD seperate would be a great option in my opinion. 😅
I was going to purchase this but then I thought it would be pointless as more bonds come out then they can’t go in with boxset so I may get the individuals films at a time 😂 Great video tho
Yes! I understand this struggle. I’m hoping now that Craig has wrapped with the franchise that we get an extensive 4K Bond Collection. I would pull the trigger on that.
I have recently given my complete collection of the DVDs away as I plan to replace them with the Blu-ray boxset but I have decided to wait as I am guessing a new collection will be available including No Time To Die as soon as it is released early next year. I am hoping that it will have new packaging as I find this present set awful and cheap looking like a sort of bootleg set. A new set will round things off nicely as it will be more complete with all the films of 6 different Bonds in one set of 25 films and you never know all the films may have been remastered in 4K by then.
Something tells me that all the films will just be the films and no extras, especially for the older one but that last film, Spectre, it looks like they were able to just toss in copies of the actual movie disc that would otherwise be sold individually, so it’s likely to have the extras.
the DVds had many extras, and so did the BD bought separately so if these dont have any extras Id be very disappointed. Also would like to know about the quality of the transfers
@@juanaltredo2974 since making this comment I went and bought this in the BluRay format and I was wrong. There are TONS of extras on every movie. Totally worth it.
This box set blows. The last Blu Ray set that came out at the time Skyfall was being released is much better. It was better packaged and more visually appealing than just plain white inlay cards. The discs are exactly the same by the looks of it. They’ve not marketed this very at all. Less is not more in this case and when people say ‘no expense spared’ in this case, they should say ‘no expense used’ I wouldn’t buy this at all.
this box set is basically James Bond 007 Ultimate Edition DVD Box Set from 2006 the dr no special features even has the same How we restored these films without the tearing etc.. it's just in one box now instead of 4 in fact I'm sure every singe James Bond blu ray they released are based off the Ultimate Edition because the disc are the same as that one.
I can sometimes appreciate minimalist art, but this one does flirt with a lazy design as you point out. I am hoping for a beautiful 4K Box Set sometime soon. We'll see... Thanks for the comment! :)
Sean Connery is absolutely, without a doubt the "best Bond" ! Roger Moore is a solid second. George Lazenby is the "worst Bond".. next to Pierce Brosnan (although I really liked Goldeneye). I really like You Only Live Twice or From Russia With Love for a favorite. Also, you should do a video of .. The 10 Bond Films You'd Keep if you could only keep 10. Like a top 10. It's hard to choose only 10 but it's fun to make a list. Very interesting what people pick. For me, George Lazenby & Timothy Dalton wouldn't make it & only Goldeneye from Pierce Brosnan would make the list.

The outer box is nice. The inner cases are almost a bit too minimalist for my liking, but I guess it’s whatever.
I agree. It’s a bit underwhelming, but it’s the most efficient way to package that many discs.

James Bond is honestly one of my favorite film series! I would have to say that my favorite Bond Movie is either “Dr. No” or “Moonraker”
Bond films are great! And Dr. No is a good choice! I would personally go Dr. No or Goldfinger. Connery is the best Bond in my opinion. :)

Never Say Never again is not an official EON Productions film. It is basically a separate film

For 80-90 dollars that packaging is awfully depressing to look at. It makes my 2005 Ultimate edition dvd volumes look better

This box set blows. The last Blu Ray set that came out at the time Skyfall was being released is much better. It was better packaged and more visually appealing than just plain white inlay cards. The discs are exactly the same by the looks of it. They’ve not marketed this very at all. Less is not more in this case and when people say ‘no expense spared’ in this case, they should say ‘no expense used’ I wouldn’t buy this at all.
this box set is basically James Bond 007 Ultimate Edition DVD Box Set from 2006 the dr no special features even has the same How we restored these films without the tearing etc.. it's just in one box now instead of 4 in fact I'm sure every singe James Bond blu ray they released are based off the Ultimate Edition because the disc are the same as that one.

I think the set feels a bit lazy as far as "box art" and its weird that spectre is the only one with actual disk art
I can sometimes appreciate minimalist art, but this one does flirt with a lazy design as you point out. I am hoping for a beautiful 4K Box Set sometime soon. We'll see... Thanks for the comment! :)

it is just the official films. so no never say never again, casino royale (1967), or casino royale (1954) Climax! TV adaption.

Sean Connery is absolutely, without a doubt the "best Bond" ! Roger Moore is a solid second. George Lazenby is the "worst Bond".. next to Pierce Brosnan (although I really liked Goldeneye). I really like You Only Live Twice or From Russia With Love for a favorite. Also, you should do a video of .. The 10 Bond Films You'd Keep if you could only keep 10. Like a top 10. It's hard to choose only 10 but it's fun to make a list. Very interesting what people pick. For me, George Lazenby & Timothy Dalton wouldn't make it & only Goldeneye from Pierce Brosnan would make the list.
