Learn how to sketch the area of the region bounded by the given curves, how to decide whether to integrate with respect to x or y, how to draw a typical approximating rectangle and label its height and width, and then how to find the area of the region, aka the area bounded by the given curves, aka the area between curves.

Hi, I’m Krista! I make math courses to keep you from banging your head against the wall. ;)
Math class was always so frustrating for me. I’d go to a class, spend hours on homework, and three days later have an “Ah-ha!” moment about how the problems worked that could have slashed my homework time in half. I’d think, “WHY didn’t my teacher just tell me this in the first place?!”
So I started tutoring to keep other people out of the same aggravating, time-sucking cycle. Since then, I’ve recorded tons of videos and written out cheat-sheet style notes and formula sheets to help every math student-from basic middle school classes to advanced college calculus-figure out what’s going on, understand the important concepts, and pass their classes, once and for all. You smart, you very smart, you a genius. Subscribed. Another one. -Dr. Khaled
+M. Serhat Thank you very much!
I'm glad you liked it!! Congrats on being done with calc 1! :)
Thank you so much for the comment! Glad you feel that way. :)
You're very sweet... and you're welcome!! :D
because we were asked to find the area of the enclosed region, and two of the four functions that are enclosing the region are x=-1 and x=1. you can see the four functions at the top of the screen where i wrote the problem. hope that helps!! :)
But that's what the topic is called!! What else am I supposed to call it?! ;) I use Sketchbook to write on the chalkboard. :)
The difficulty comes while arriving at the graph y=ex
I dont usually comment on videos, but your videos are amazing. You go through every step clearly and slowly just in case someone doesnt understand. Great Tutor! Great videos! Keep it Up
thank you, i'm so glad!! :)
Glad I could help!
thank you!! :D
I don't know why we should draw and finding the area? I couldn't understand anything!
Stupid calculus :(
Can I get into your contact .I have few quarries that I want to clear
I'm now done with cal 1, but I was tested on this. Thank you I really enjoyed your video!
I explain the process here :) integralcalc . com/how-I-create-my-videos
Which country mam u are??
I love Math!! I love Calculus! but a video titled Area between Curves....just sayin, this will get a love of views fast :) Oh, I'm curious what software you use? I tutor and I like to try various software.
Thanks for the video, may I just ask if can we find the exact value of the height and width of the rectangle?
Nice and amazing explanation 😊
Thanks!
Your vid just saved me
well done i understood the Area between the curves finally finally you kw wt ur the best tnks sooooo much
please why you choose( 2,3 )and (-2,3)?
Krista is fulfilling the promise of Gutenberg !
thank you very much you are helping
Awesome, thanks for letting me know!
dont they have to intercept at 1 and -1 in the first question
Hi! I want to ask you about the draw program. What draw program are you use for your videos?
Thanks!
You will make an excellent math professor. and thank you very much for the helpful videos :-)
+Behnaz Neuforge You're welcome, I'm glad they're helping!
You are god at calculus... But thanks! Really helped with my homework!
Glad I could help! :)
YOU THE BEST

Ok 😄😄😄
I will continue to wach your videos periodically and help you with a like 😄😄😄😄
Muchas gracias Krista. Eres la mejor 😁
Thank you krista you are the best 😁
why do we take limit as 1 to -1?
if u can please rply me
isn't the height supposed to be e^x+(X^2-1)😖😖
No, you always subtract the lower curve from the upper curve. To prove this to yourself, think about what happens to those curves at x=0. When x=0, e^x=1, and x^2-1=-1. If you subtract -1 from 1, like I'm saying to do, since I took e^x-(x^2-1), then you get 1-(-1), or 2, which does look like the distance between the curves at x=0. But if you add them, like you're suggesting, then you'd get 1+(-1)=0, meaning that the distance between the curves would be 0, or that they'd be intersecting. That's definitely not what's happening at x=0, so you know that can't be right. I hope that helps!
um, I meant a lot of views....
thnx so much, it was really amazing and helpful !!
you just saved my high school exams.. thanks a lot
