    In this video, we finally fly our 9-inch diameter high power upscale of the original Arcas sounding rocket at the Kloudbuster's AIRFest 29 rocket launch in Argonia, Kansas. The Double Arcas flew on an N2000, four J275s, and four J350s.
    Altogether, this monster of a model rocket weighs in at around 100 pounds on the launch pad. Sure, it's not the world's largest model rocket, but we sure had a ton of fun building and flying it!

    The rocket came back to launchpad…so displacement of rocket is zero..😂

    Right back on the pad, that's impressive - especially for a rocket that large.
    Edit: That Punisher drag race was fun to watch.

    Still can't believe I found that Arcas nose cone. Too bad I didn't get to the range in time to see it fly in person but the videos, are almost as good. Great flights, guys!!

    Very nice flights guys. I saw it in person and didn't even notice the nose cone come off on the way up. I couldn't believe it when it came right back to the pad. Good luck with the repairs.

    I once watched a hot air balloon get launched. Fly about 5 miles and then the wind shifted and it landed with a hundred feet of where it lifted off from. Amazing !!

    Measure landing-from-pad-distance as percentage of flight altitude and compare with every Estes tm flight ever. You did very well.

    Outstanding shipmates. Press on. USS Kitty Hawk CV-63. Jan 1980 to July 1983. I still can`t be leave you guys did that. Land where you took off. Wow That is so cool.

    NICE! I looked at the moment when the nose cone came off and skipped frame by frame back and forth and you can see the rocket's trajectory deviates for a very brief moment before the rocket corrected it. That was very impressive. Do you have a video about the guidance system you're using?

    Awesome flights! Can’t wait to see Taylor’s jumbo Sumo fly on an even bigger motor. You guys have the most fun building and launching rockets. Keep it up👍
    Also, that was a ridiculous way to prevent the wind from dragging your rocket anywhere 😂 I would love to see what’s left of the nosecone sometime. That wiggle and glint looked so sketchy.

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It was quite sketchy! Reassured us on the strength of the coupler and the tubes. Haha

    I want to make this model of rocket, please tell me how to make this type of rocket and what is the material of the rocket's body, how to burn??????

  • @flare2000x
    @flare2000x 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I've landed a rocket on the pad before (actually dented the body tube on the tripod, oops) but it was a 4" rocket to maybe 750 feet, nothing crazy like your arcas.

    Great flight . I saw that little wiggle. then when you played it again i saw that, nose cone, i guess it was fall off. But pretty awesome flight. Even more so the landing. Couldn't have asked for better than that.

      Copper thermite in the N in the middle and pyrodex pellets in all the outboards. A little more pyrodex wouldn't have hurt, but they all came up pretty quickly.

    During LDRS 8 a small 2" rocket left the pad and then impailed its self on the same pad it took off from... Landing within 25 feet of the pad was awesome but that 2"er has you beat... keep the pointy end up...

  • @HPRnut
    @HPRnut 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Can you design your rocket to launch out of the launch tube and then fire?

    • @stevennagley3407
      @stevennagley3407 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Think that may conflict safety protocols cause if it explodes in the tube on launch you could have shrapnel going hundreds of feet every where

  • @ac2fv
    @ac2fv 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Brandon, rookie question. I’ve always used full length Kevlar shock cords. It looks like you were using nylon cords. Don’t they get burned during ejection?

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They get crispy after a few uses, but they're far cheaper than Kevlar. For big projects like this it's a difference of hundreds of dollars between nylon and Kevlar. For the 12", we swapped the leader loops between flights but the rest was good!
