    Nice to know I’m not the only one that frantically and chaotically preps for rocket launches in a garage only a mad scientist would love.

    Amazing flights, Braden!! The HoJo performed awesome! I really envy you guys and your range. Unbelievably beautiful.

    Love that Big Red Max. I flew the regular Estes version and loved every flight.

    Dude! I was at Spud Roc because I live about 20 minutes away. I remember the HOJO but must have missed many of the other big flights. I would have remembered that Big Red Max cuz that thing looks great and flew even better, another hapless victim of that hellish unforgiving rock hard ground out there, just brutal. Great flights, still don't think I could burn a pile of cash faster than it gets burned up by those big motors, lol. Back to mid-power for me.

    What camera are you using in the HoJo? I've been wanting to up my rocket cam game and don't want to go back to tiny spy cams. Also any chance I could get the .stl for the shroud? Eventually gonna fill my 7.5 inch motor eater with sparkies and I want to get a good shot of it.

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's an older GoPro Hero Session. Happy to share the STL!

    Awesome flights! Have you delved into any hybrid rocket motors before or just solids?

    • @RocketVlogs

      No hybrids here. I'm not particularly interested in flying thrm to be honest

    Dude what a sick weekend! You think that DRM fin just cracked on landing or was there some flutter during boost?
    I’m assuming all 5 HoJo motors lit. Moon burner had some epic duration.

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yessir, all 5 lit!
      The Red Max definitely cracked on landing, but it was my own doing. If you look closely the nomex protector slid up the shock cord and shroud lines, then reefed the parachute

    What was the motor of the blue darkstar ? I cant quite put a name on that propellant

  • @SuperScottCrawford
    @SuperScottCrawford ปีที่แล้ว

    It's crazy how it looks like it's arching from the ground (it's roll program? 🤔) when ascending, but is essentially remaining dead center. You can really see it from the POV camera. 👍

  • @jonsayler3317
    @jonsayler3317 ปีที่แล้ว

    What camera setup do you use for the launch pad shot?

  • @mikestanley9176
    @mikestanley9176 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    How high do you want it to go?
    Yes.

  • @jONAThAnBunt1990
    @jONAThAnBunt1990 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey man! U gotta get that HoJo to fly complete strait!! Not enough nose weight or to much thrust? - pick one lol

    • @RocketVlogs
      @RocketVlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty sure it's neither!
      Instead, I think its the fact that the M lit first, and that motor alone only puts the rocket at about 3:1 thrust to weight. So, it was a little unstable when it first started moving and the Js kicked it and straightened it out. That, or one side of the Js lit just a hair before the others.
      Either way, it still flew perfectly otherwise and recovered without issue...and also went almost 2,000 feet higher than simmed lol
      There's a couple of these nosecones for sale on eBay, though. So, if you want to build one and show me how to do it better, you're more than welcome to 😉

      That so sick. You would have hit 10K easy if it hadn’t wind-cocked those 12 or 13 degrees, I’d bet. And that thing jumped off the pad and flew straight and true! I hope to see this rocket fly in person someday.
