So the fuse location is number 12 in the rear fuse box. It’s a mini 20 amp fuse. Now when you pull it out you’ll notice it is not like all the other mini fuses so just go to your local auto parts store or you can purchase it online (add-a-circuit) is what you will need. Also the rear fuse box is constant power so if you reconnect the add-a-circuit in the same spot it was original in, your amp will never turn off. That fuse connection has two was to connect the fuse. It has three openings. The way you find it should be connect at the very top and the middle. You need to reconnect it to the middle and lower input to adjust it to only power on when you turn the vehicle on.
I don’t think that will work issue I had was factory radio bass protection I had to install a LC2i 2 and everything slaps now. 400 watt kicker and 8” solo Baric in a 2017 sxt
So do you connect to the back door speaker wires like on both sides of the vehicle or can you just hook up the wires to one side of the car on one speaker?
Because if you dont wire both channels L+R the amp thinks you have a blown channel. Imagine if you have a blown channel and you hooked only to it..no sound! You might think the amps no good. When really you have no output. With my amp its balanced it tells me there is a fault in either L or R channel before it powers my single sub. If its the wiring, fix it ,if its the radio replace it.
@@luisquintero6264 I was thinking about doing that also. How did you make out? I'm hooking a small monoblock and was gonna splice l&r to the factory sub for the signal. ✌️
Probably none because it’s really not that hard. Multiple ways to do it, strip back the covering and just military splice into it, get some-clamp splice connectors, get regular crimp style connectors, cut the wire then take the LOC wire and twist it together with 1 of the ends from where you cut the door speakers and then on the other side of the crimp connector just put the rest of the wire in the connector and crimp. There you go, ways to do it right there
Yeah, unless you have the sub bridged at the amp. I have a dual mono amp so when I run one sub, I bridge it at the amp and then use both L&R RCA inputs
I do, you don’t have to, as long as you got a Y RCA cable then you can just use one. Idk y but it sounds better when I use both channels. Maybe it’s just all in my head lol
I’m sure you could just wire one speaker to both left and right on the converter to be able to plug both L & R on the amp but If you just wire the speaker to either the left or the right wires on the converter your going to lose some signal. Easy way to test that out is if you already have a single sub set up in another vehicle, with both L & R RCAs connected to the amp, unplug one and see what happens.
Because you probably have a factory amplifier in your car. I have a 2014 challenger rt. The factory amp went out and all of my interior speakers stopped working because i tapped the speakers in the rear deck. It burned out the channels
A - Because that’s the proper way to wire the LOC. Even though it really doesn’t make a difference, why else would companies bother to make a right Positive and Negative and a Left Positive and Negative? B - because I have a dual mono amp. I didn’t bridge the subs when I wired it to the amp.
Giorgos Charitos hello, you don’t need to wire the brown cable that is attached to the LOC. I have it tucked away to the side. If I’m not mistaken, it’s a ground, but it works perfectly fine unused.
I have a 2016 dodge charger sxt with alpine 6 speaker system. My question is would this loc be a solution to my factory amplifier problem? Basically my sub and amp I installed loses bass as I turn up volume as I hear more bass when playing at low levels make sense?
MrAntman843 Yes. Installing the LOC along with a good aftermarket amplifier and the right pair of subwoofers would definitely be a solution to your problem. I temporarily installed a hifonics amp with 1 15in kicker cvx and the bass was amazing. Unfortunately the trunk space will not allow me to fit two 15 in. Subs so I’m working on building a box for 2 12in. Alpine SWR 12d4. I should have a video posted for that install in a few weeks
DeeImMe I bought an “add a circuit blade fuse tap” and connected that to a #12 or #13 or #7 in the rear fuse box. I will check which number it is and let you know because that is the only spot that has an option to connect a fuse so that it always remains passing current or to cut off the current when the vehicle is turned off.
nanazbound I replaced the 20 amp fuse with 2 10 amp fuses It’s #12 in the rear fuse box I believe this is the one m.ebay.com/itm/12V-Mini-ATM-Add-a-circuit-ACN-TAP-Adapter-Blade-Fuse-16-AWG-20-AMP/252654352359?hash=item3ad35f77e7:g:L5cAAOSwB09YOZE6:sc:USPSFirstClass!75082!US!-1
@@moneychasingcobra6404 i have a different converter that has the remote wire an 12v to turn on/off with car but I’m having trouble we’re to connect both to get my amp to turn on to use
I've got a question? I have New Mercedes-Benz and Don't wanna touch the the radio, Navi, lol on any other car I wouldn't care and have. But this car already has the Bsst 14 speaker Burmester Sound System, doesn't get much better. My worry is I've never tried one of these cheap boxes to tap into my my rear deck speakers, I mean how does one of these compare to using A nice Deck with RCa PREOUTS?
Just like ANY ground, it goes LITTERALLY to any spot on your car that is steel, take a piece of sand paper and sand the spont, and just simply screw the wire down nice and tight around it so it won't move. OR put the ground wire INTO the ground port of your SUBwoofer amp if you have one, which should ALSO be grounded. You can literally just pull up the shit in your trunk, or look around your trunk for a bolt, any bolt. unscrew it, sand the base part, and wrap the wire around it. It is ALWAYS like that, ground is ground my friend.

Why doesn't fucking anyone show the god damn correct way to wire these things DONT SKIP THE WIRING PART. THATS THE WHOLE REASON IM HERE
These videos are making me more and more frustrated

Huh ?
im confused so adding the fuse will keep the amp from staying on constantly ?
What are the colors of the +- speakers wires ? Thanks
I think you have the positive and negative backwards on the speaker
There’s no firewall in the rear of the vehicle
🤣

So do you connect to the back door speaker wires like on both sides of the vehicle or can you just hook up the wires to one side of the car on one speaker?
I got my system installed everything works good except my Bluetooth won’t work any suggestions?
The level control ???
is it possible to wire the kicker loc in parallel the 2 + inputs together and then the 2 - inputs together so you get a mono input?
The loc is there to keep factory radio while converting a low level signal to hook up an amp whether it's mono or multi channel.
@dabeatboxer83 so is that a yes or no 🤔
Why did you connect it to both of the speakers if it doesn’t matter if you only connected it to one of them.
I keep hearing it doesnt matter either and then see people wire both lol. I swear every time they say that they do both in EVERY LOC video
Because if you dont wire both channels L+R the amp thinks you have a blown channel. Imagine if you have a blown channel and you hooked only to it..no sound! You might think the amps no good. Ouch that's a double negative sir
goodstuffohhyeah haha “Ouch”
Instead of plugging the remote wire to the loc can you just wire it to the amp instead. I’m getting the turn in power from the fuse box
Can u tell us what connectors did you use to connect the speaker wires to tap into rear speakers
Probably none because it’s really not that hard. “Thingy” then this “thingy” and that other “thing” 🤣
What if you only use one sub do you connect the converter one channel for one sub
Yeah, unless you have the sub bridged at the amp. I have a dual mono amp so when I run one sub, I bridge it at the amp and then use both L&R RCA inputs
Ok so you use both channels on the converter on one speaker my 12 inch is bridgeable and my amp is mono

@@ramonloera360 that’ll work too, for ease of wiring

As long as your getting power from + and - wire harness into the amp

So are you able to just connect the line converter without removing the factory amp?
TheTrw20 Yes. Now you won’t get a lot of the low frequencies that are 29 hertz and below because of the factory amp
